lyrics are significantly worse written than any other Disney Musical I've seen, (lyrics are generally more vague and vapid than usual in some songs, there's some really bad syllabic flow and incredibly contrived rhyming schemes here and there) but the orchestrations are often quite nice. I'd say it's probably the weakest set of musical numbers in any of the Disney Musicals, with maybe only Hercules and Tangled competing, but they aren't bad, and they were going for a unique sound even if it didn't pay off.
@@Omnipotentmonkey I agree Wholeheartedly until You Just Dissed Tangled and Hercules- I’m so sorry but you can Not Put those Gold Bangers with actual Written Lyrics that have common sense behind it in the same barrel as This Piece of garbage. Tangled and Hercules are literally LEAGUES Ahead Wish in terms of Music…The only contender Wish should have is those Straight to DVD Disney movies nobody likes. Like Belle’s Enchanted world.
@@Sophildoodle Tangled and Hercules have much, MUCH better songwriting than this, no doubt, their songs are just a mixed bag in terms of story usage, orchestration etc. for Hercules, "Gospel Truth", "Zero to Hero", and "I won't say I'm in love" are bangers, excellent, catchy, well written songs. but "Go the Distance" is just such an autopilot song, it's well sung, and the lyrics are... competent, but it's just generic as hell. and "One Last Hope" is just okay. catchy, but again kind of generic. for Tangled, "Mother Knows Best" and "I've got a Dream" are great, but "When Will my Life Begin" and "at last I see the light" are the same problem as "Go the Distance" they're autopilot songs, particularly the latter, If I was looking to just write a generic love song, that's what I'd go with. in hindsight though, yeah, they're still FAR above Wish, they're the weakest musicals besides Wish, but they're leagues above it.
@@Omnipotentmonkey I agree with you and I see what your saying. Though I don’t agree with “at last i see the light” and “when will my life begin” which are Bangers. The very first song in the movie plays a pivotal part as it introduces Rapunzel as a Character and her Day to day life, The lyrics sets that up quite Nicely in a very Upbeat Guitar beat. It’s literally her to-do list that ends with her Wishing to go out and not do the same things she always done. You can’t compare “go the distance” to “When will my life begin?” Because both have different goals and Different Wants, though Hercules is the more “generic” one. “At last I see the Light” is Such a Romantic song and I don’t think it’s super generic cause It ties it all that Rapunzel ever wanted: to see the lights. And now she has a New light she sees which is Eugene which starts up the duet. It also starts in a guitar beat just like the first song but Is much more slower paced and subtle. It’s a nice tie in to what was before and to what is now. But yeah, LEAUGES above wish
That song was combined with "Ready as I'll Ever Be" and "I'll Make a Man Out of You". Queen Amaya, Asha and her friends are ready to take down King Magnifico and free the people's wishes from Rosas. 🏰🌠

That’s why so many fans are reimagining it in their fan projects/ fanfics.
Part of me likes good queen amaya and the other part of me wishes that she'd stayed a villain alongside magnifico and their cat charo so we'd get the disney equivalent of tony and carmela soprano.
I noticed that during my first watch of the film. One of those nods that goes by quick but that pose is so iconic and well known that it was easy to spot out.
People can hate on this movie all they want, but I’ll forever love this film for its awesome music and story. And the vocals of each character in each song.
Sorry, but the story was the weakness of the movie. It wasn't bad, but ....when pointed out I can't help but agree ...what did the King actually do wrong? He didn't murder anyone. He didn't force anyone to live underneath his rule. He wasn't even a tyrant mad with power. The people lived very well under him ....the entire happy premise of the beginning of the movies doesn't help either. The movie struggled so hard to make him a bad guy ...that they had to give him an evil book, otherwise, there was no reason to stop him. Even in the end, he didn't use his power to simply blast the main heroine into nothingness. Considering the evils of past villains ...it was hard to see what he was guilty of. What did he do wrong?
The story would be better with a greater story Imagine a moral dillema of exploring both sides, Asha and her naive yet wholesome view on wish granting, and Magnifico as a Coping, traumatized yet proud king who knows the ins and outs. imagine a side of Asha thinking the King is an evil minded royalty, while he actually creates a facade of ego to keep himself together. What if this wasn't the first time a star went down? A wishing star is a compelling power of cosmic granting that pulls in to the deserving. What is considered as deserving? A person of will. A will to manifest a powerful entity to one's call. A star in you is the will of you to keep pushing. Now let's make this a backstory. A wish is asked, and upon the stars, the star falls to the person's will, but it was a will of malice and destruction. Taking command of the star, havoc reigned. That would be Magnificos backstory. A victim of a powerful force misused, and outcome of a traumatic paranoia. This would lead to coping mechanisms, which his wife would have used to help him grow as the king they knew. Love yourself, you couldn't do anything then and theres nothing to about it. It's done, learn from it. King Magnifico would A story of a young lad learning sorcery and taking a forward step to be the bridge of magic to humanity, to grant wishes to the deserving, because not every wish can be granted. That would be a compelling villainous arc. He holds the cursed book to study cosmic powers, powers beyond human control. He is put to a more paranoid state as he slowly pushes people away, even his beloved, while the voices in his head say he will betrayed, he is faithful. Faithful to his people, to his wife, to his oath.
@@letb5569 The only negative trait I saw in him was that he was a narcissist, but that was pretty much it. The story could have been improved upon, but otherwise I think it’s a shame that Disney really struggled with the making of this movie.
This is a good song. Not gonna lie. It's a rally song, which is rare. The only other rally song Disney has is the Mob song from Beauty And The Beast and Savages from Pocahontas. And it's got I'll Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan elements in it as well.
I kinda wish Asha had more of a character arc in this movie - she essentially starts with the morally correct worldview from a narrative standpoint since the very start of the movie. The only thing that changes is her realization that Magnifico is a villain as opposed to a leader who shares her values, everything else about her remains more or less completely unchanged throughout the plot. It almost feels like the Queen would have made a better main character in that regard - more agency/proximity with the villain, larger personal stakes, more grounds for conflict and challenging one's own beliefs to grow and become a better person. Asha has an astounding singing voice, but I felt they underutilized her character and made her a mouthpiece for the story's theme rather than a representation of it.
Magnifico: A man who had a rough start, learned how to perform great magic, created his own kingdom built upon the wishes of his subjects, hoarded many of those wishes for himself, became corrupted by his own greed, and used those wishes to achieve more power at the expense of his own subjects. Disney: A studio that had a rough start, learned how to make great cartoons, created it’s own kingdom built upon it’s fans favorite franchises, bought many of those franchises for itself, became corrupted by it’s own greed, and milked those franchises to achieve more money at the expense of it’s own fans.

This song made my day, the example of showing kids to protest and cause activism so they become stereotypes and ruin their lives makes my day full of joy and perfection ❤😊❤😊❤😊
Who else thinks that this song reflects the situation at the Disney company right now, with Bob Iger being Magnifico, not being the man he claims himself to be, being more vicious than what we could ever comprehended, lying about everything, the lengths he will go has no amount (blaming and firing everyone except himself) and if we do not fight, he will win
For a song about rebellion, this song is really empty. It doesn't really include much about what they actually believe, and that's simply because this movie never went into details about WHY the king turned evil or why he's suddenly power hungry when he was happy to be a just ruler for YEARS!!! Just goes to show that if you want a song to have substance, it needs to come from something of substance.
I have to agree. Still need to watch the whole film, but the scene confused me. Just for the fact Asha is trying to convince her friends, but she doesn't say why and how everything they were told is wrong.
When I was talking to my wife, I had said earlier that the music seemed sort of forgettable, imagine my surprise when this track dropped, and I was like okay I'll shut up lol so good best song.

lyrics are significantly worse written than any other Disney Musical I've seen, (lyrics are generally more vague and vapid than usual in some songs, there's some really bad syllabic flow and incredibly contrived rhyming schemes here and there) but the orchestrations are often quite nice.
@@Sophildoodle Tangled and Hercules have much, MUCH better songwriting than this, no doubt, their songs are just a mixed bag in terms of story usage, orchestration etc.
for Hercules,
"Gospel Truth", "Zero to Hero", and "I won't say I'm in love" are bangers, excellent, catchy, well written songs.
but "Go the Distance" is just such an autopilot song, it's well sung, and the lyrics are... competent, but it's just generic as hell. and "One Last Hope" is just okay. catchy, but again kind of generic.
for Tangled, "Mother Knows Best" and "I've got a Dream" are great, but "When Will my Life Begin" and "at last I see the light" are the same problem as "Go the Distance" they're autopilot songs, particularly the latter, If I was looking to just write a generic love song, that's what I'd go with.
in hindsight though, yeah, they're still FAR above Wish,
they're the weakest musicals besides Wish, but they're leagues above it.
As much as I wish the original storyline came into fruition, the Queen's part in this song always gives me chills. Such a great song!
Is it inspiration in any book ?
That song was combined with "Ready as I'll Ever Be" and "I'll Make a Man Out of You".
Queen Amaya, Asha and her friends are ready to take down King Magnifico and free the people's wishes from Rosas. 🏰🌠
Glad I wasn’t the one that thought of those two songs while listening to it.
That’s An Excellent Theory Of The Combinment Of Those 2 Songs On This Music Video From The Disney Movie “WISH” :-) !!!!
Yeah ready as I'll ever be is combined in this from the tangled series
Agreed
And then king turns the plan on theme when he tricks theme all.
100% supporter of this movie idc what anyone says! This movie was incredible and the soundtrack is a complete BANGER!!
Same here! Love this film. It’s in my top 3 favorite Disney animated films. 😃
@@JestKartoonsStudios agree!!! Top
@@SwoonerProductions Same here,
I loved it too. The only thing I wish is that they did more with the king. Use his tragic backstory as his motivation like it looked like it was going to be but instead they turned him into a basic narcissist. Loved his happy go lucky personality though.
@@MillieBlackRosei really don’t get why people like this movie. They forced the king to be evil after Asha showed what he feared, a revolution that would destroy his kingdom. Like, he was perfect and not evil until asha started questioning things, then he got possessed by evil magic trying to protect the safety of his kingdom? Make it make sense
2:06 😆 CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!
I want a nightlight modeled to look like 'em
Best song in this movie, no one can argue against that.
This movie was great tbh, idc what people say, I loved it
Right? 😭 I can't believe it wasn't well received
Either this song or “You’re a Star” is the best song in the movie.
My personal fav is the reprise for SURE! The way they orchestrated "This Wish" to be more hopeful and more epic! I legit got chills when Asha stood up and hit those vocals!
@@StarBoy1YT That's fair. I respect your opinion.
@@isabellasolken380 As someone likes the movie but doesn’t *love* it, i can tell you that people don’t hate the movie as much as what it represents tbh. You can tell by looking into the concept art and deleted scenes and ideas that the they had a something really great but didn’t let it manifest to it’s full potential. That’s why so many fans are reimagining it in their fan projects/ fanfics.
Hands down the best song in the entire movie change my mind
2:26 this part slaps

Part of me likes good queen amaya and the other part of me wishes that she'd stayed a villain alongside magnifico and their cat charo so we'd get the disney equivalent of tony and carmela soprano.
Lmao
I like to think that they go on jail dates
2:56 I spot a reference to The Lion King. Look at Safi in this shot
I noticed that during my first watch of the film. One of those nods that goes by quick but that pose is so iconic and well known that it was easy to spot out.
With Valentno
1:26 A revolution!!!
LUIGI UP B SMASH ULTIMATE
The way he jumps is kinda funny and strange 😂
I'm loving the Water Color animation.. like how i fell in love with all WISH soundtrack specially this.
Same here. Happy that there are others who love the storybook watercolor style and the songs. 😃
One of my favorites songs from the movie!
I saw this movie with my sister and it was amazing! This kinda has a "We don't talk about Bruno" vibe to it.
Glad I’m not the only that thought about this
Especially with the shadow imagery for sure.
Forgive me but I don't see the resemblance
@@jorgecabezas1966Thats ok
It could've been so much better
The story would be better with a greater story
Imagine a moral dillema of exploring both sides, Asha and her naive yet wholesome view on wish granting, and Magnifico as a Coping, traumatized yet proud king who knows the ins and outs.
imagine a side of Asha thinking the King is an evil minded royalty, while he actually creates a facade of ego to keep himself together.
King Magnifico would
A story of a young lad learning sorcery and taking a forward step to be the bridge of magic to humanity, to grant wishes to the deserving, because not every wish can be granted.
@@ScrapTinker that would be such a great rewrite of the movie. I would definitely want to see that.
IT'S A DISNEY 100 REVOLUTION BABY!!!
This is a good song. Not gonna lie. It's a rally song, which is rare. The only other rally song Disney has is the Mob song from Beauty And The Beast and Savages from Pocahontas. And it's got I'll Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan elements in it as well.
How about Through It All in the Tangled finale
@@manuelorozco7760 I gotta listen to that one.
@@manuelorozco7760 I need to check that one out.
@@manuelorozco7760 yeah, and Ready As I'll Ever Be!
@@M_JackOfAllTrades I still can’t believe how well the show turned out.
If anything, Disney is just ironically parodied themselves, both in a good and bad way simultaneously!
There's so much passion and emotion in the vocals and the rhythm was just legendary! I mostly liked how Asha sang with such determination and love with her family!
1:26 My favorite part!
Mine as well
I love this song of how they worked together to defeat King Magnífico 0:30 and they’ll do anything to get the wishes back. I love Wish so much and when I watched.
All my favorite songs
1. And this is the things I get
2. At all costs
3. I’m a star
4. Welcome to Rosas
5. This wish
6. Knowing what I know now
*This is the *THANKS* I get
This song is basically saying "viva la revolucion"
1:19 wait until they hear our feet go dun dun dun dun YEAH!!!! Best part of the song
I feel conflicted, it's weird but I like it, does that make sense?
This song has no right to go as hard as it does.
Why not? Let them cook.
It really doesn't 😂 It goes so hard, but the rest of the story doesn't go hard enough. Like, I get the story, but nothing leading up to this song seems epic enough to warrant this epic banger
This song is the definition of "The Truth will set you Free."
Thank you! Please do This Wish (Reprise)! And "This Is The Thanks I Get!?"
80/10
I'm a boyish girl, but I've have a little madness
Should have sung the line "who knows if will succeed"
Magic, excitement, wonders, music, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. Amazing in the Disney movie, Wish. That was a great and epic song performed by Asha, Valentino, her friends, and Queen Amaya 🎼🎶🎵🌌🌠🌟⭐💫✨🪄🔮🔔🧚🧚♂️🧚♀️
I know that the lyrics are kind of off, however the INSTRUMENTALS THOUGH 🔥🔥🔥
This song was so good in the movie ❤😀👍
I dont get the hate for this film or its songs. This bangs, and Amayas part in this is so cool and important
Chat gpt stories surely are the best then.
I mean, the lyrics are kind of meh. However, then Amaya's part comes along, I love how she revealed "His crown" at the end. Almost gave me chills, however I was puking earlier at the friends singing before her part.
Magnífico feels like a lame villain, they sold him as the worst villain ever in Disney, but he never did something too drastic as the others. Mother gothel was way scary
The animation is horrible it looks like modern 3d generated cartoons transformers & tmnt etc. compare it to the beautiful art style of Encanto , how have they gone backwards
This is my favorite song from my 2nd favorite movie. Also, I say a Lion King reference at 2:55
Damn, you beat me to it 😂
Yes I saw
This is a GREAT song. It caught me off guard how much I loved it when it played
REALL IM TRYING TO LEARN IT
The first time I heard this song in theaters I got chills and I still do every time. Epic song!
I personally loved this movie. This is my favourite song from it. I hope Disney+ is helping it get a good reception like it did Elemental.
People tore this movie apart when it was in theaters but, I fail to see why. Especially with a track like this and "This Wish."
@@JadenOmega I think it may be that some parts of the plot just feel a little...stale? Underdeveloped maybe? Idk, when I first watched the film, I didn't really feel anything for it. I didn't hate it but I definitely think they could've done a better job with some of the characters. I have to say when I heard we could've gotten a villain couple with the King and Queen I felt pretty robbed ngl. But oh well.
Queen Amaya ate in this song frfr.
I loved Magnífico as a villain, and how we see he wasn’t always a bad man, but super paranoid instead. And the fact that she sees that her own husband isn’t the man he used to be, shows her character develops more than any other in the movie.
Wish is so overhated bro, it’s in my top5 faves 💯%
It gets the hate it deserves
“Knowing what I know now”, “At all costs” and “This is the thanks I get?” (yes, “This is the thanks I get?”), the best songs of the movie.

2:40 TMW you realize you married a psychopath.
Dudette, that’s too far!
It's WILD that Amaya's voice actress confirmed that during auditions, Amaya was the villain while Magnifico was a good king, but by callbacks, the roles reversed. If you ask me I rather them as the first villain couple
OML IM BEEN FINDING THIS AND FINALLY ITS LIKE A BETTER VERSION OF ENCANTO RN
WISH is yet to become a beloved classic. All haters of this movie can hate all they want. And this song is one of the best in the movie

“He loves one thing more then himself: his crown”
Boy that line applies to a certain Donald pretty well doesn’t it.
Now THIS is one song I love the best in this movie. NGL, I sung that song a couple of times, as well as humming it too.
Knowing what I know now and this is the thanks I get and this wish is the best part of wish.
This song made my day, the example of showing kids to protest and cause activism so they become stereotypes and ruin their lives makes my day full of joy and perfection ❤😊❤😊❤😊
What's sad is that it's been confirmed Asha's whole identity is "an activist". She has nothing else to her character that the company cared about.
The way I see it, it’s Iger and Chepek a pair of idiots
2:40 hits harder than I expected.
2:45 Also loves the way the whole grew sang: “He loves” Like they where checking if she was really on their side
No it's 0:20
3:08 the star looks so cute when its angry🥹🥹
Finally. A official version of this.
I love song 🎧
THIS WISH REPRISE NOW PWEASE 💗
For a song about rebellion, this song is really empty. It doesn't really include much about what they actually believe, and that's simply because this movie never went into details about WHY the king turned evil or why he's suddenly power hungry when he was happy to be a just ruler for YEARS!!! Just goes to show that if you want a song to have substance, it needs to come from something of substance.
I have to agree. Still need to watch the whole film, but the scene confused me. Just for the fact Asha is trying to convince her friends, but she doesn't say why and how everything they were told is wrong.
One of my favorite Wish songs (aside from The city of Rosas and This is the thanks i get)
This movie quickly got my full attention and I loved it to the stars and back!
When I was talking to my wife, I had said earlier that the music seemed sort of forgettable, imagine my surprise when this track dropped, and I was like okay I'll shut up lol so good best song.
Can you please upload the full “This Is The Thanks I Get?” scene next?
