@triplecrosscounter hear me out: Ragnarök was retconned by early Christians to be the end of paganism but the beginning of the Christian cycle. After the world ends, three beings survive and those are equated to God, Adam and Eve.
Therefore, there's still a VERY slim chance that Kratos can be a wise man.
Plus, the Greek timeline isn't set in any particular time, so with a little cheating, it could match the timeframe.

The orcs have two gods called Gork and Mork, one is cunningly brutal, and the other is brutally cunning. Which one is which doesn’t matter, and the only reason there’s two of them is so they have someone they can fight. At one point in lore they’re never ending brawl had them basically roll through Korne’s realm and Korne literally ran out of their way.
As for agreeing on things, they all have it programmed into their dna/collective subconscious that red makes things go faster, that bigger makes better, and the better something gets the bigger it’ll get… so if Doom Guy dropped in and started ripping and tearing them apart he’d (slowly) start getting bigger, and faster, and stronger but no one would necessarily notice. (Now this is just my theory, but the reason the emperor is 14’ tall but also once walked among mankind unnoticed is because of the orks. The orks recognize him as “Da biggest an da bestest Humie” and so he has become the biggest and the most powerful. Orks have truth manipulation, they warp reality, and allow for mountains sized mechs to move faster than mechs half their size)

Your perspective on Kratos in the orginal games is quite interesting and gives me a new angle into why people might not like Norse Kratos. Saying that the original trilogy is a big suicide attempt is beautifully poetic to Kratos in the OG trilogy. I can understand why people think it isnt the same character, especially with the retcons in Valhalla.
However, there is one major element to keep in mind in the OG games. Kratos kept coming back after part one for his vengeance, hell, Zeus putting him out of his misery im the beginning of GOW 2 should have been what he wanted. Instead, he is actually a different character compared to GOW 1. We see it in the very beginning sitting on Ares throne surrounded by women while wearing a new armor. He lays waste to countless cities and purposefully invokes the wrath of the gods because he can. Athena even warns him, but he continues to do so regardless.
Another point to add is that the Gods have kinda always been assholes before Valhalla. I would argue that the OG games aside from maybe 3 give him a justification for his cruel actions. Before the events of GOW 1, Zeus curses Kratos's mother to hide his identity as Kratos's father, robs the only brother he has, leads him down a dark path for power and conquest, all the gods constantly ask for his help yet hes barely given anything in return, and most of these things are BEFORE the recon in GOW3 where the box supposedly made them 'Evil' even though they were debatebly already moral questionable at best.
Still, I love the video, and the debate was pretty damn good. Keep it up man

Well they ARE conceptual beings, they embody good and evil things at the same time being these parasites. Alongside their mere physical form exist in the warp which in its entirety exist beyond dimensions, space, and time, beyond what even doomslayer could handle. Really the only reason everything isn't dead is straight up because the chaos gods want to continue their games forever.

    • @caxe7
      @caxe7 15 днів тому

@@alleywaydude399 they do consume the concepts they subplant but these concepts can exist independently of them with no change, unlike with C'tan. The chaos gods more mantle them (hence parasites as you said) while they hold warp dominance than are them. This is evidence by their being a time before the chaos gods existed and further evidence by the fact that they fear the possibility of death. Physical entities can exist in the warp if they are psychically empowered (evidence by all the imperial aligned people who've done just that, including primarchs, a Grey knight, firehawks). I don't really care for doom, I don't really play the games but the scope of the chaos gods is misunderstood because of memes. If the emperor decided to ascend they were done, even now, individually, he's stronger than any single chaos god.

I dont think khorne is strong enough to siphon power/gain power from doom guy. DG is the equal/superior of davoth. Davoth is a multiverseal entity responsible for the creation of the doom multiverse while khorne is basically a parasite sucking energy from a single galaxy/universe.
Also, aren't the tyranids the greatest enemy of chaos and their actions dont empower the chaos gods? Or atleast the cgods cant influence them.

Hell in the ragnorok dlc he revisits and confronts all the messed up stuff he did in greece and acknowledges he was a evil bastard at the time.
Then they have a child, and he is thrusted back into the role of fatherhood and Kratos is doing his best to be a better person to raise his son that's the entire point of both games.

Khorne doesn't scale to all his followers. He gets a small bit of power from each person, there's just so much bloodshed and shit that he's insanely powerful.
Also the power of the Orks is very limited, they make guns that almost kinda work shittily but their belief carries it that small bit to working. The red color does work but only a little bit.
The Chaos Gods aren't infinitely powerful because their effect in the real world is very limited, which is why they work so often through followers and couldn't face the Emperor directly in the materium.
Also the Ork Gods, Gork and Mork are often considered the most powerful by far because there are so mamy Orks that believe in them but all they ever do is fight each other for fun so they don't really bother with any of the other Gods otherwise they'd basically win immediately.
Also Doomslayer isn't really driven to save the innocent, he was made with a purpose but is otherwise Human, he was a Marine, had a kingdom with the Sentinels and was a Sentinel soldier before that. There's a picture that is implied to be him, with the face torn out and a wife and kid.
In conclusion I believe he kills the Gods but if he can't he would likely carve out a kingdom that no one would ever fuck with.
Also most Primarchs were not Psychers and the Warp isn't made of souls it just is where most souls go.
    -------
Also, Chaos Gods aren't conceptual, war existed before Khorne they're basically just extremely powerful extradimensional phsycic parasites. There are MANY gods and they CAN be killed and wounded. Most of the Eldar gods died and some were shattered into shards or wounded and in hiding. This can happen to the Chaos Gods as well they're just extremely powerful so it's difficult.
Also corruption requires consent. In some way you WILL consent before they corrupt you even if through torture. That's why the Space Marines and Astartes had to be tricked or convinced. Even mortals have resisted by sheer force of will.

There is absolutely NO WAY the Doom lore enthusiast is saying that God of War's story is bad when all the story of those games is just demons randomly spawning into a place and Doomguy killing with random books of garbage lore all over the place 😐.
Regardless of that, the games never retconned the events of GoW as your guest stated several times, any of the 'changes' is simply a new perspective to his actions;and he is never forgiven for them despite the new perspective. Additionally, they didn't retcon his reasons. He's simply grown as a person and is now better able to analyze his past and find the core of those events, unlike in the original games where he was blinded
On top of that, he literally did stab himself to release hope into the world. Athena showed up taking about taking the power and ruling the world and realizing she'd be no better than other gods he released hope

There are 2 standing theories. 1 is that due to Doomguy’s Primordial nature there can only be one of him at any given time. This doesn’t include alternate universe versions of him. The second is that he actually popped out in an alternate universe version of Earth.
I’m inclined to believe the first more than the second as if he was in an alternate universe there would still be an alternate universe version of him there.
The genuine answer thus far is it hasn’t been explained. Hugo has said he wants to release a DOOM Bible that will go over all of the unanswered questions the games bring up. Hopefully that one included.

Doomguy kills the Chaos gods, very specifically because his dedication is literally infinite and that his only feeds directly into himself.
His hatred for demons is infinite, but he doesn't express that in any way but killing demons. Against Khorne in particular, for them to have the chance to stalemate he would have to dedicate the whole of himself into fighting Doomguy directly, which would leave him open to inevitable treachery of the other gods, who would seize the opportunity to defeat him and win the great game. Which leaves them with no way to stop him, because he can't die, he doesn't feel anything but hate, and won't preform any other task until he has fully completed his given task.
In a vacuum he could potentially stalemate with Khorne, but there is too much otherwise activity and fighting for that to be a possibility.

As to the retcon of Kratos, I view it like this. Despite the fact we are playing as Kratos and seeing the world through his perspective, we are also meant to absorb the Norse perspective. Gods and Demogods have their stories changed to fit the landscape. Loki and the Jotunn were not originally part of Norse mythology, they were added to explain encountering other cultures. This is how mythology works.

So while he can’t kill them, he can minimize their effect on everyone else to the point where they don’t have to worry about them anymore.

I am pretty sure that Chainsaw Man's concept erasure ability only works on Devils that embody that fear though. So like if the Chainsaw Devil was sent into the 40k verse and ate a Bloodthirster for example, the concept of "rage" or "bloodlust" wouldn't be erased cause it isn't a Devil, its a Daemon. So to really get the full power of Denji/Pochita you would have to pretty much crossover the Devils and Hell dimension of the CM verse in to 40k verse as well, which would get pretty wild. Just like you guys mentioned with the Chainsaw Devil, most devils are going to get a crazy power boost and you would see the creation of new devils like the Xenos Devils, Heresy Devil, ect. So if the War Devil and Blood Devil existed in the 40k verse and Chainsaw Man ate them, then Khorne is going to be having very bad time to say the least. Like its probably wont outright kill the Chaos Gods but Chainsaw Man erasing Devils and thus concepts that they embody is going to severely nerf their power and influence.

This video is fun, but I think it vastly overestimates how common Daemons are and how conflict prone Warhammer is, as odd as I know that sounds. There are plenty of innocent people and just entering into the warp isn't exactly something easy to do. When humans do that in Master of Mankind they get dissembled to something less than atoms, without some sort of protection you cease to be. It's not like a warp storm, being inside of a ship with a broken Gellar Field, or the eye of Terror that is so often confused with the Warp - it's a violent infinite ocean of souls, emotions, and monsters.
And another thing, contrary to what some books say (Yeah... it's like that. At this point Warhammer is only outclassed by Comics when it comes to contradictions) not all Daemons are parts of the Gods. They can be created by intense emotional events like the Gods were, which does ensure that there will always be something in the Warp and it will usually be daemonic because Warhammer 40k is so messed up. I could talk about how the several ways in which some Warhammer characters can time travel, but that's such an astounding convoluted topic that I don't even want to get into it.

Almost every writer puts some of themselves into their characters. Kratos is well written and is very believable based off the og 3 games. There's a ton of written story beats and lore in the game both shown and discovered that only add to his character. Like it's actually hard to miss. Kratos was always a family man and it was only after he lost his first, found vengeance and still had to wander the earth trying to discover he he really wants to be, and after finally facing and accepting his demons, that he learns to BE the father he should've always been. He does that and he still actively struggles with trying to be better while also dealing with the loads of trauma and ptsd that he has from everything he;s been through and done. His character growth is incredibly well done.
Also just cus he actively doesn't give into his rage in every aspect of a fight and learns to fight differently and with people, doesn't make him weaker. Kratos rage was a powerful tool but it blinded him and made him make many mistakes because he wasn't thinking of his actions and the consequences they could bring. This is repeated at length throughout the entire series. Kratos literally still has the power of hope, he inspires all the realms to rise up against Odin and the Asgardians allowing for the realms to finally be free of constant oppression and endless conflict. There's still pockets of conflict but widely most of the realms sit at peace and now work together. How is that not hope? I feel like yah gotta drop some conceived biases and play back through the games or look into the lore that's in the games as well. There's so much of it and it's all pretty consistent.

Honestly even if we don’t take Cory’s words into consideration Kratos still has better feats in the new games. The most you can scale Kratos to before was multiversal and that was because his fight with Zeus who beat the titans, who beat the primordials and then eventually overpowered him, however Thor just fighting jormangandurr was splintering the World Tree which supports ALL of creation and transcends time and space and that was just a byproduct of their fight. You make it sound like Thor wouldn’t have killed younger Kratos as well which he would because he is just so much physically stronger than younger Kratos. Valkyries are said to move just as fast as Hermes and casually and older Kratos can easily keep up and defeat them all. The Only thing younger Kratos has over current Kratos is that he has more magical abilities.

And if people aren't worshiping the chaos gods, sacrificing things to them, indulging in their concepts and emotions to the extreme, etc, it won't starve the chaos gods, but they will have a fraction of the power they once did.
Unfortunately, even in the Horus Heresy, which was one of the most involved in the mortal world, most of their attention and power was for battling each other in the Warp, so it will mostly be that the galaxy now has a way to avoid demonic corruption and chaos will mostly just be demons appearing during warp storms or possessing psykers, rather than organizations of heretics and stuff.

Orks reality warping ability is very interesting and i think you are not understanding it correctly. This ability is a form of racial psychic ability that is within them all. This ability is both powerful enough to effect the entire galaxy in some ways but also hyper focused. For example: ork guns do not work because of some racial scientific knowledge but instead because they believe it works. Orks species wide believe that red makes things go faster so when they paint a vehicle red it actually goes faster, or yellow is more deadly so bombs painted yellow deal more damage. In the WH universe the Orks stupidity benifits them where a smarter person would know better. Another example: there are orks that have been on ships with no atmosphere by themselves, but because that 1 Ork believed there was air then he could breath, but as soon as someone told them that they cant it was all over. Its the Bugs Bunny effect, walk on air until you realize you arent on ground, then you fall.
For this reason Doom Guy would not be able to defeat the Emperor of Man. Because the Orks believe species wide that the Emperor is the most powerful human and cannot be killed there fore Doom Guy as soon as he enters the WH universe he will always be depowered to weaker than the Emeperor.

Just because he is dead doesn't mean his power doesn't still continue to affect all around him. He creates universes just by his presence and created creatures so powerful most of them would destroy 40k demons like they are bitches. I heard it described as reality lube, so I think it works more like if a gun works 10% of the time and explodes the other 90%, then if an ork uses it, it works all the time and only sometimes jams. So I think their stuff technically can work, but so badly it's impractical, but under the reality lube affect it works mostly smoothly. Like, the same bomb can vary in its level of power when exploded, but if the bomb is painted yellow, then it always explodes at the upper end of power.

If you take into consideration the fact that daemons are created from fragments of the chaos gods then each time chainsawman eats a demon of korne he would be eating an extremely smal piece of the chaos god of war, and that will very slowly weaken the concept of war and at the same time weakening korne and all his daemons, daemon prince’s and champions simultaneously, making it easier to eat more daemons of korne, if he follows that cycle for a few tens of thousands of years nonstop eventually korne will be weakened enough to be completely eaten by the chainsawman, that will erase the concept of war from existence which will rewrite the entire universe timeline so all wars in history never ever happened in the first place, including the war in heaven between the necrons and the old ones, preventing the eldary, the orks and chaos itself from being born in the first place. Denji would be the best thing to ever happen to humanity in that universe.

How I see doomguy going into Warhammer is
    -Doomguy appears
-Hes imperial because he sees humans and sees demons fighting humans
-Doomguy wills himself to kill demons amd whatever
-Khorn instantly becomes the strongest Chaos god by a staggering amount, ends their game instantly
-Universe is always about Bloodshed. Split between people who worship Khorn and people who worship the Slayer

If every demon is a fragment of a chaos god, then every demon denji eats would weaken the respective chaos god.
Denji would actaully be a hard counter to them if they dont personally intervene.

      @SilverTemplar 19 днів тому +1

I also feel like there would logically be some good people on the Imperium, but Doomguy doesn't wipe out the chaos gods (even if he's fully capable) because that would do more harm to humanity than good.
You kill Nurgle and nobody can die, even if you blow them in half. They'll just exist as a perpetually gorey stump person. Or grow so old and full of tumors that they're paralyzed.
Kill Tzeentch and nothing can ever change. It's eternal stagnation. Kill Khorne and Slaanesh then you killed passion and pleasure in the universe and everything sucks forever.

Casual Warhammer 40,000 lore reader, but I think Kazuya would be ok for the most part, even after gaining the attention of the Chaos Gods. Chaos might even like him enough to give him blessings/ascend him to become a Daemon Prince (there is a case below where something similar happened.)
He's a warrior that causes tons of death, and Khorne doesn't care where the blood flows from. He would love the destruction Kazuya causes.
Tzeentch also favors a sorcerer (Ahriman) that explicitly hates him and schemes against him. Kazuya schemes for power, Tzeentch might take a liking to him too.
Slaanesh (being excess incarnate) might like the power hungry nature he shows. He has plenty of power but he always wants MORE.
And speaking of Slaanesh, there is an example of a woman, Ax'senaea, who absorbed the essence of Greater Daemons to maintain her youth... Slaanesh, upon discovering this, made this human woman a Daemon Prince.
Either the the Chaos Gods kill Kazuya or they find him so entertaining that they reward him with blessings/not immediately kill him... Also, the Chaos Gods don't get along, so one may or may not try to protect Kazuya from the others solely on the grounds of messing with the other Chaos Gods.

You know the more I think about it, the more I think you're wrong about how the Ruinous Powers work. They aren't the source of their power, their collection of it. Debauchery existed before slaanesh. It was an extreme amount of debauchery that created her. I don't think they could ever be permanently erased. They would simply come back when enough of their emotion coalesced, But Doom guy could kill the chaos gods. He would just have to keep doing it for all eternity, especially with how violent of a universe Warhammer is. tzeentch was also destroyed at one point, And is now forced to go find all the pieces of him that were thrown about the universe.

  • @boredUser2

Chainsaw man eating low level demons would permanently weaken the chaos gods until they were weak enough for him to completely devour them. The universe would probably collapse if that many fundamental concepts were erased though.

I wonder how Dante & Vergil from Devil May Cry will fare in Warhammer 40K.
Specifically, their DMC5 selves because obviously they're at their strongest in that game, until DMC6 gives them some new toys anyway.
I imagine the majority will not trust the twins because of their half demon natures, and the daemons might hate them because of their human halves among other things.

I dont think the chaos gods can corrupt characters that are stronger than they are. Correct me if im wrong, but we have never seen them corrupt beings at equal or greater power. Like the emperor, he is/was barely on the level of the chaos gods but they couldn't corrupt him despite being an objectively bad person.

    • @Red-king89
      @Red-king89 19 днів тому +4

In the lore th Emperor is what the chaos gods call the Anathema, which from what is said means his very being is made out of the opposite to them and can permanently kill demon because of it.
So Characters as powerful as them could still be corrupt if they don't have anything against that like how doom guy is immune.

    • @thibaultl1956

@@Red-king89It’s worth mentioning that the Emperor isn’t the only one who can permanently kill daemons. Blanks, certain weapons, and many powerful psykers can do it as well. Although that depends on the daemon, even the Emperor’s Sword can’t kill some of them.

Doomgiy would not like the imperium of man at all he doesn't like random killing of innocent as shown in doom 2016 and in the og doom comic.
When he used to be a marine he killed his sergeant because he order them to kill protesters.
In doom 2016 in the opening elevator scenes while listening to Dr. Samuel Haden he looks at the dead body next to him and get angry due to Samuel basically telling it "needed to happen for the betterment of humanity"
So i dont see him following orders from the Imperium mostly helping those who are in danger from daemons and maybe xeno?
Because I dont think he would hate all xeno probably just the orks, dark elves and Necrons.
