Kidney stones are on the rise among Americans for a few reasons, but it’s most likely due to our diet and lifestyle factors. Americans nowadays are eating high caloric diets that are high in processed foods. Health conditions like diabetes and obesity, which are associated with kidney stones, are affecting more Americans every day. Once you have kidney stones your risk of getting them again increases.
A kidney stone is one of the main things I want avoid ever experiencing.

I was reading a thread about which hurt more between getting kicked in the balls and childbirth. One guy and one girl said that kidney stones hurt way more than both of them.

i started eating more spinach(it grows almost like a weed in my garden), but now i'm told it's bad for preventing kidney stones :S
i cut my carbonated sugary drink intake to one normal can per week, with my weekly personal-sized pizza.
i dont eat a lot of meat(but i do eat a bit almost every day).
still worried about all the vegetables that are supposedly bad for preventing kidney stones....

Hello from Canada! I spent 13 hours in tremendous pain in hospital emergency this past summer with a single 6mm kidney stone, after xrays, blood test, urine test and CT scan, I finally passed the darn thing. Kidney stones are no joke!

If you eat lots of chips with salt on (I’m in uk so if you’re in America I don’t mean the crisp meaning of chips) then lower the amount of salt, se if you like cold water, drink anything that has less salt and look for alternatives

If almonds have high oxalate content, what about almond milk? Almond milk typically has more calcium than normal dairy milk, so does that mean the oxalate and the calcium cancel each other out in that case?

I just had a stent put in 6 months ago and now I feel another one coming already.
