Yeah, while this video never seemed to explain how he proved anything to Bo-Katan, I believe that Boba Fett is a true Mandalorian. Yes, he was brought into the world as a clone, but that doesn’t matter. His father wanted him to wear that armor. And quite frankly, as much as I like Bo-Katan, Boba doesn’t have to prove anything to her or anyone else. We’ve seen him in battle. He’s a Mandalorian. :)

I don't think they're making him a good guy, a good guy wouldn't take over Jabba's palace (destroy it maybe, not take it over). I think they're definitely giving him a more morally ambiguous story, the crime boss who has certain standards

I think Boba Fett’s armor might be the armor Jango wore in his old Mandalorian days, and not the one from AOTC that Boba blew up, which is probably one that Jaster gave to him. Which is why their names are in it. It would make sense that Jango would want him to wear that one since he wanted him to carry on Jaster’s legacy.
Yes, it is Jango's original armor. In Jango's Legends comic we see Jango in that armor with Jaster. I do believe that episode in Mando more or less makes that comic canon again. At least some parts of it.
I just want to add that we don’t know how long he was in the Sarlacc for. It’s unlikely he had access to food and water inside it. He most likely escaped relatively shortly after falling into it.
Until we get more details I like to think Jabba's barge crashed down on the Sarlacc and killed it. Boba climbed out but was covered in gastric acid which explains the scars we saw. He stripped down all his acid covered cloths and left, got rescued by Tuskans who got him back on his feet. That would explain the Tuskan stick he used to fight the Stormtroopers. The burning barge attracted Jawas who also found the armor which explain Cobb's story.
Sarlaac's were known to digest their food over hundreds of years. They would keep their food alive by pumping nutrients into their bodies while slowing down fhe aging process. This was discussed in the boba fett story of the bounty hunters novel. He escaped using his jetpack
@Ryan Hughes Tales from Jabba's Palace or Tales of the Bounty Hunters - I can't remember which. Two pretty decent collections of short stories which are now obviously (mostly) non/never canon.
If you look at the rest of his armor, all of the blaster bolt pits are still there. I think it's more likely that Fett just painted over everything, without the ability to patch the holes in his armor, either due to lack of material or equipment. Let's not forget that beskar requires a special forge to melt, and even the dark saber has difficulty getting it even hot enough to glow. I doubt Boba has anything in Slave-I up to the task, and thus just re-painted it.
@@davidj3841 i think its just that bobas armor isnt made out of pure beskar but more of a medium because he still doesnt die in when we look at death watch in Clone wars they die in 1 shot pretty sure because of not having pure beskar armor and I know that this is from a month ago
Colors are suppose to have meanings when it comes to a Mandalorian & their armor, but some of that is Legends. Looking at Boba's Suit; Green is suppose to symbolize 'Duty', though to what or whom is unclear (to the All Mighty Credit? He was a Bounty Hunter/Merc after all). Bo-katan's Blue is mean to represent "Reliability"... I'll leave that be for now... The shoulder is interesting when one looks at all what the symbolism can mean (of wearing one's emotions on their sleeve, considering the left is nearest to one's heart). The base color of the piece is a Marigold orange/yellow; which could in Cannon (for Orange) represents "a Lust for Life", while Yellow (as in Gold) is of "Vengeance" or (in fanon as Yellow) is a sign of "Remembrance". Red is meant for "Honoring a Parent", & with the Mythosaur Sigil on said shoulder painted with should speak Volumes of what Boba believes, even if he comes off as uncaring about. Note; recall that Boba didn't get upset with either of the Night Owls denounced he was a Mandalorian or worthy of his armor. Though he did get in Bo-Katan's face with the "Prince" statement after she spoke ill of Jango with the corrective retort of, "Don't you mean donor?" (hence her disrespecting Boba's claim of who his father was & Jango's worthiness of being called a parent). Even a "simple Man(dalorian) making his way through the Galaxy," that was crossing a line and why his retort of "Princess" was meant to be an equal barb to her - reminding Bo-Katan of her personal short-comings as a leader. (Sorry about the tangent, and might be reading too deeply into) The sigil on the upper right torso is in White, which is suppose to mean a new start. This can lead to a lot of speculations; While in Legends, it may have been explained as Jaster's symbol though as what was it tp mean (Jaster's Clan that Jango/Boba would now be a part of as a Foundling Line, Journeyman Protector's Sigil, that of the 'True Mandalorians', or as something else). The droplet & the grain-stalk can have many meanings, as such I'm not going to get into. The letter doesn't seem to match anything I have found in the Mandalorian font (unless it is mirrored, then there are 3 possibilities), though in the Aaurebesh font it might be a stylized 'Dorn''/D letter. The rest of the Symbolism for this is even harder to give specifics on.
@SonofEyeaboveall Effoff In ways I agree, though this being about five months after my posting. I view (Disney) Canon & EU as one continuity - with Legends having the Grain of Truth until canonical facts are brought to light to confirm or dispel myths of.
As his Armor is Green (symbolizing "Duty" in the Mandalorian Armor Culture), perhaps it is "The Way" of least questions/resistance to achieve his goals (whatever they are & is his self appointed duty to fulfill).
@@themandalore7780 I believe for his Father (Jango) would be the Mythosaur Sigil on the shoulder. The red trim on his helmet I feel is for for his "grandparent' & man that saved his father, Jaster Mereel (as Jango referred to Boba as "Jaster's Legacy").
@@GGrey1975 That could be some interesting symbolism, if he's worn and faded paintwork on his armour represented that Boba had forgotten his duty, but now that he's repainted it he's found a new duty.
"Time to give the fans what they want. I am the new space Santa" - Boba Fett, as he pushes Bib Fortuna's lifeless body to the ground before assuming the Santa chair.
Boba Fett is also the son of a True Mandalorian, the enemy of Death Watch. Since Bo-katan was a member of Death Watch, this would explain why there was a bit of bad blood.
@@hurdleguy8014 Being from a planet doesn't equal being from the same race. If that was the case, then humans and ants from Earth would be the same race. My point is that there weren't only humans on Mandalore and that "Mandalorian" isn't a race. People from any race can be Mandalorians. There just happen to be more human Mandalorians in the era covered here.
I find it pretty intense how Boba sees Jango in Din. Both of them fought a version of the Empire to protect their child. Jango against the Republic, which later morphed into the Empire that Din fought for Grogu. Lucasfilm does love it's parallels, it would be so cool if Din/Grogu were being set up as the next Jango/Boba.
"Those who ignore the past, are bound to make the same mistakes in the future." I guess Boba suddenly realized this and decided to do away anything that wasn't nessary like the scalps and the cape, but keep the symbols.
As kids we all wanted to be Jedi because they are so awesome, but we easily forget that the Mandalorians could easily take on a Jedi. Mandos are the real badasses of the universe
I've always liked Republic Troopers/Mandos since I love the Weapons they have. As much as I like Lightsabers, HK-47 gave me a huge love for Star Wars Blaster type weapons.
I want to know where is Rotta the hut in all this. Even though there was a lot of in fighting from the hutt clans after Jabba’s death, you’d think he would take up his father’s mantle even if he is a bit too young.
He wouldn't be old enough yet remember he was a baby in the clone wars. And huts don't get to adulthood till they're around 200 years old.. So many around star wars episode 30 he might show up lol
After Jabba's death a lot of his resources probably faded into the grips of other crime lords, so in reality even if Rotta came back to try and claim his thrown it would probably end without success.

In the new series it would be a good idea to see flashbacks of Jango and young Boba. Perhaps back on Kamino as he was training the Clone Commandoes and telling Boba stories of Jaster and his time with the True Manadalorians.
Boba: I'm not interested in following a failed leader of a group of tarators whom lied and betray their own families and people for the sake of a outdated ideal, if you were even half the worriers you say you are, Mandalore would have never fallen to anyone, not Maul, not the empire, not your passivist sister, princess.
But I didn’t see the scalps or the cape on the armor when Cobb Vanth was wearing it. The jawas could have just removed it to sell it separately. I’m sure the Wookiee scalps are worth a bunch of money considering how hard it is to kill a Wookiee. The cape could have just burned off by the acid. Wookie hair could probably survive acid lol.
I got hounded for saying this. My point was "in canon, boba may not be a mandalorian. But He was the very first ""mando"" ever brought into the films, and then they expanded on the history of what a mandalorian is". Man the hate comments i got on that comment made me laugh, i guess they were around in the 1980s and already knew about mandalorians???
Yeah real world wise that statement is absolutely true. The whole mandalorian thing is based on boba in the OT. Canon wise he is not a mandalorian. Not even close. He is the clone of a deserted and thereby former mandalorian who was not even a born mandalorian, but a foundling. He only can proove to be the rightfull owner of his armor.
Aye even back then what Boba was and what Mandalorians are was constantly shifting and being ret-conned. Though imho the worst retcon was throwing out Republic Commando/Karen Travis lore, which is a shame as the music alone was epic.
Why does everyone always make everything so complicated. The symbol on his chest has meaning to him. In Legends it is stated to be his lineage, and that is a decent assumption here. Though never stated explicitly, as such it is an important symbol nothing else. The Wookie scalps are gone because he doesn't have them anymore. He sits on the throne to take over Jabba's empire. These are the simplest answers, and until something is shown to definitively contradict it, that is what it is.
I have heard people saying that Bo Katan's mistrust to Boba Fett might have been born out of the suspicion that he could have been a Clone Trooper impersonating Fett to live his life. And only after seeing Fett's fighting style she acknowledges that he's the real deal
As for the symbol on Boba Fets right chest, he plays guitar and is clearly a Fender player as it’s a perfect Fender “F” I heard he was a sideman in the Mos Eisly cantina circuit, of coarse for hire by the gig…
He could have taken the cape off because it was over the shoulder of the mythosaur sigil meaning he was somewhat hiding the fact he was a madalorian, he was not proud of it, or was not ready to fully embrace his lineage and by taking off the cape he embraced and accepts his lineage. I believe at one point the cap was over his shoulder hiding the sigil.
I believe he will follow in his father's footsteps and restart the true mandolorians (the enemy of death watch, which is why bo katan was so hostile towards him, because his "donor" was the leader of the true mandolorians) and boba make a guild of honorable mandolorian bounty hunters like his father before him did
I honestly loved the Bounty Hunter game on PS2 which gave Jango Fett an awesome back story. He became my favourite character after that. Hopefully they make it all canon and mention some of it in the Book of Boba Fett.
The letter in the Jester Marial sigil is simply the "F" from the Fender logo, meaning that Boba Fett on top of being a bounty hunter also plays bass guitar, what a badass !
@@theskurj6288 Technically no, but having possession of it increases one's odds tenfold just like the Mask of Mand'alor. So it essentially guarantees successorship but isn't necessary
It still makes me smile to see Boba sitting on Jabba's throne like Arnold Schwarzenegger at the end of "Conan the Barbarian". Perfect nod to mythology.
I'm sure news that Boba fed a sarlac would have gotten around. So, everyone thought he was dead. We did. So it's likely Bo Katan assumed the person in Boba's armour was a clone that acquired it from the other end of the sarlac.
I love how u opened the video and i think boba fett is a great symbol for little things getting bigger and better, to me hes the symbol of the star wars cult following he represents the core fanbase that helped grow starwars, if trying to better himself and leaving his criminal past is behind him is the theme maybe hell try to make tatooine a better place idk itd be in line with his sense of justice
Its funny that you mentioned Jaster Mareel considering when Jaster met young Jango, Jango wasn't a Mandalorian but the son of a Farmer which was retconned later by the game SWTOR when they mad a Clan Fett and made all the voice actors New Zealanders.
His father Jango is confirmed to be a Mandalorian. But Boba doesn't consider himself to be one as he stated that he pledge allegiance to no one, but most of the fanbase believed he is one.
There's a lot of debate about whether Boba is a mando now. I say if it walks like a duck, it talks like a duck, and it smells like a duck, it's a duck.
Nice video Star Wars Comics! I'm really glad that Boba kept the Mythosaur symbol as well as Jaster's symbol. I'm also glad that Boba abandoned the Wookiee scalps. I wonder if Bossk pressured Boba to kill Wookiees and keep their scalps as trophies in Boba's younger years because Trandoshan culture revolves around hunting Wookiees. Maybe while Boba was in the sarlacc he realized that he had been manipulated into becoming a more violent man by Bossk, Aurra Sing, and the other bounty hunters who raised him. It would be so cool Bossk turned up in the Book of Boba Fett (Sure, he may have been on Jabba's barge but Bib Fortuna was and we know he survived) and asked where the Wookiee scalps were and then realized that Boba regretted what he had done. Maybe Bossk could say something like "I raised you to be a ruthless hunter but now I see you are weak!" and then they could become enemies. It would be so cool to see a fight between Fett and Bossk! Also I've been wondering how you get images and even footage for your videos from Disney +. Do you have as special agreement with Disney that allows you to take screenshots and screen recordings? Because as far as I know, Disney + has a program running that blacks out any screenshot a user tries to take. If you do have an agreement with Disney, how did you get it?
He repainted the armor because it’s easier to maintain continuity when he’s your main character. Otherwise they have to keep touching up the “bad” paint job between takes.
That actually makes less sense than keeping dinged up and scratched / scraped. With so much patina, who would notice one more missing fleck of paint? Now that it's re-painted, the studio / costume crews would have to maintain it even better.
It is important to remember that Jango is only a Foundling in Canon, as he was born on Concord Dawn in Clan Fett Territory to Farmers of the Clan in Legends .
the sigil on the chest(Journeyman Protector, the organization existed before the symbol) was made to honor Clan Fett when they died refusing to surrender Mand'alor to Tor Vizla, the wheat symbolizes humble origins, the circle represents Resol'nare, the fact that the wheat exits the circle displays actions above and beyond what is called for, the droplet is to symbolize the willingness to spill every drop of blood in battle, and the letter is Mando'a it's the letter roh which is commonly associated with fidelity/loyalty
Technically, bo was wrong when she said that boba wasn't a mandalorian. Anyone can be a mandalorian so long as they follow their path. It's why the mandalorian army was huge during the old republic. They take anyone willing to enlist and trained them.
Jango was a foundling, in a way Boba was a foundling. Yes, while being a clone of Jango and unaltered in anyway, he wasn’t the natural born son of Jango, but Jango fathered him and loved him just the same. Sorry if this wasn’t a clear as I wanted it to be. I saw someone else comment something similar a while back.
Boba is like Kratos. terrible childhood, loses his family. complicated parental circumstances. haunted by his passed. lived his life as an evil badass but in his old age turns a new leaf to save a kid from a terrible fate. edit: if you consider the fight scene in mando season 2, they both even use but control their anger while fighting
I love it when people make up these elaborate backstories for something that was designed on the premise it would look good on film. The symbols on his armour meant diddly squat when Star Wars was made. I can imagine the costume department saying “yeah that’s not what we did”
@@ZachKateAda Well said Boba, well said. My people are working on it, but don't worry, we won't bother your criminal empire, you can do anything you want if it's legal-like.

I don't know if you mentioned it in other videos, but you potentially missed another detail - his classic suit bore a White undersuit, which is now Black. If you go over the traditional colours of Mandalore, he's traded "A New Beginning" for "Justice" by symbolism. His prime colours are Black, Green, Red and Yellow/Gold - Justice, Duty, Honouring a Parent, and Vengeance. So pairing his red with Jaster's symbol is likely the prime tipoff - He wears the Mythosaur, he bears Jaster's crest, and openly bears declaration he's honouring a parent. Some of it's Legends material, but Mandalorians are bound by honour primarily, and this is a big case of Heraldry in action.
I think the exclusion of the two items (cape and Wookie) brands is much more simply explained. They got lost/destroyed. You can't magically create new Wookie braids and he got used to wearing a new style clothes as an unarmored man, so he didn't need to get a new cape.

Somebody help me...when did Jangos armor get "blown up"?
@@DarthMalice50 his Helmet was blown up, not his armour.
^^^^^ what he said.
@Ryan Hughes Tales from Jabba's Palace or Tales of the Bounty Hunters - I can't remember which. Two pretty decent collections of short stories which are now obviously (mostly) non/never canon.
@Ryan Hughes star wars tales of the bounty hunters. It's legends now
If you look at the rest of his armor, all of the blaster bolt pits are still there.
But now that begs the question, what blasters are strong enough to dent beskar that much when even lightsaber cuts leave no mark?
@@davidj3841 it's space fantasy, don't think about it too hard.
Yeah I took it as Beskar can't be easily popped back into shape since it's basically Space Vibranium. You just have to paint over it.

(Sorry about the tangent, and might be reading too deeply into)
The sigil on the upper right torso is in White, which is suppose to mean a new start.
The rest of the Symbolism for this is even harder to give specifics on.
woah.
@SonofEyeaboveall Effoff In ways I agree, though this being about five months after my posting.
I view (Disney) Canon & EU as one continuity - with Legends having the Grain of Truth until canonical facts are brought to light to confirm or dispel myths of.
The shot of Boba and Fennec sitting on the throne, gave me Green Hornet (/Red Hood) vibes.
(Guy cleans up underworld by taking control of it.)
He's going to be a big help later in the chapter.
As his Armor is Green (symbolizing "Duty" in the Mandalorian Armor Culture), perhaps it is "The Way" of least questions/resistance to achieve his goals (whatever they are & is his self appointed duty to fulfill).

The answer is simple: He didn't paint over the symbols because they look badass
But I didn’t see the scalps or the cape on the armor when Cobb Vanth was wearing it. The jawas could have just removed it to sell it separately. I’m sure the Wookiee scalps are worth a bunch of money considering how hard it is to kill a Wookiee. The cape could have just burned off by the acid. Wookie hair could probably survive acid lol.

There wouldn't be no Mandalorian's if it wasn't for Boba Fett
Should've kept the shoulder cape.
I hope he gets a full suit too.
Boba and Jango Fett will ALWAYS be Mandalorians in my eyes and no one will tell or convince me otherwise.
These are the simplest answers, and until something is shown to definitively contradict it, that is what it is.
finally, someone who said repainted instead of cLeAnEd
Well you have to clean it to repaint it so technically both terms are right
I have heard people saying that Bo Katan's mistrust to Boba Fett might have been born out of the suspicion that he could have been a Clone Trooper impersonating Fett to live his life. And only after seeing Fett's fighting style she acknowledges that he's the real deal
As for the symbol on Boba Fets right chest, he plays guitar and is clearly a Fender player as it’s a perfect Fender “F”
I heard he was a sideman in the Mos Eisly cantina circuit, of coarse for hire by the gig…
The round symbol means he farms wheat, the red drop means he gives blood and the letter means he players fender guitars from the late 1970's
Maybe Boba sits in with the Max Rebo band between bounties?
