This is a Wonderful interview with Eunice Gayson! I love her candidness and sense of humor...The too sexy eyebrow story is priceless!...Thanks...Great Fun!
It's interesting, I see your last name is Sargaison. I ordered a copy of your aunt's autobiography 'First Lady of Bond' about 7 years ago just after it was published. I read it from cover to cover, I still have it & I remember her saying that her real birth name was Sargaison :-) I've only just come across this interview & saw your comment. I was sorry to read of her death last year. She was a bit of a legend!
My mother worked with her in a shop in West London before she started acting. She told my mother that she had a test and my mother told her to be careful!
The lady holds forever two immortal distinctions: the first of course is that she is indeed 'the' very first Bond girl. And the second - so befitting, - is that among all her Bond-Mates through 23 motion pictures - Miss Grayson is by a-very-long-way - the 'most' beautiful of any and all of the Bond-Girls'.
Interesting. It is actually her raised eyebrow that accompanies her asking who Bond is, and he replies: "Bond. James Bond." However, she sets the formula when he asks who she is: "Trench. Sylvia Trench."
"Sylvia Trench" was an Alpha female and James Bond was an Alpha male. In "From Russia with Love" in the scene where Bond is on the car phone with Moneypenny and say to her "make it one and a half hour", "Sylvia" claps her hands and has a fantastic smile!
What is your name Trench, Silva Trench! She says Mr. he then says Bond, James Bond. It was Eunice that provokes his response Bond James Bond! And there you have she was responsible for the most iconic line in cinema history.
The very first Bond girl...And, so loved...It's unfortunate that she and her character didn't last in the Bond story moving forward...God rest her soul.
Eunice is a very versatile actress and a top class performer. I have seen her in the Avengers and other tv shows. Going back to Bond, I think Linda Christian was a 'Bond Girl' in 1954 'Casino Royale', before Sean Connery. Thanks for this upload.
i was at Eilean Donan castle with Eunice when she was up here and god bless her ,howling winds and freezing conditions and the wee thing battled on, i offered her my big winter coat between filming, but no she kept going in a wee dress . RIP dear
ricky the scot linton she mentions in the interview going to the locations in Scotland which have been used in some of the Bond movies during the 50th anniversary in 2012, was that the same time you were with her? I'm just interested!
yes she came up for two days to a small village called Dornie which is beside Eilean Donan castle ,the Aston martin out of quantum of solace was up here too, she liked a wee glass of wine or two at night in the local hotel.
Hi from England Eunice What a lovely, lovely lady. Part of the ICONIC Bond Film Franchise. Even in this interview in 2012 she was STILL SO SEXY At 5.37 she mentions about Terence wanting her in the film because she was SO SEXY and he loved to show off the women in the 3 he directed. Its like In FRWL and the famous scene with Sean and Daniela having to do several takes. I am afraid in todays WOKE world no way would Terence be able to say things like "YOU ARE SEXY" or such like - complimenting a WOMAN is A NO NO Sad really
If shes the actress who is playing golf in the hotel room they asked her to lower her eyebrow because she was lifting it way up high all the time and it looked stupid.
perfectly cut.
legendary woman. thank you. respect.
She was the most beautiful Bond Girl ever
can't argue with that. smart and sexy. RIP.
Classy, lovely, witty, and dignified. Pity she wasn’t used more! “Oh, so now I’m an old case, am I?”

My sincere condolences, Paul, I saw Eunice at the James Bond Fan Fest in London in 2010.

First bond girl still beautiful in her 80s
She was really a great actress and indeed one of the actors who made the James Bond series such an enormous succes!
RIP

Beauty doesn't last for long. Only your deeds and how you treat people.
"Sylvia Trench" was an Alpha female and James Bond was an Alpha male.

Women have came a long way. Around that time they got their own cigarette.
❤
The real first Bond girl, sad people think it was Ursla Andress, no disrespect to her.
I would have preferred her as Moneypenny.

Sad really
The most beautiful Bond Girl ever, in my opinion. I still don't understand why they dubbed her.
Are you saying they dubbed in someone else's voice for hers in that Dr. No scene?
@@douglascarlson9006 yes, both Eunice and Ursula were dubbed.
If shes the actress who is playing golf in the hotel room they asked her to lower her eyebrow because she was lifting it way up high all the time and it looked stupid.
