I remember the day I heard this on MTV. Never heard it before, and basically never listened to any post rock. It was like 11 am and a sunny day, which had nothing to do with this song. Like MTV itself had nothing to do with this song. I stopped everything and listened to it till the end. I still come back.
mnchls Exactly what I thought. That's pure insanity. No album was more anti-commercial than this. I listened to it for a long long time. It has the color of dreamless sleep.
This is easy listening, though. MTV used to have this segment, chill out zone, where it would play stuff like that. Unfortunately that happened at about 3 in the morning on saturdays or sundays can't remember. There was also ambient and way wackier stuff at times...
How great to finally have this fantastic video on UA-cam! Yeah, and having the track itself here again is great, too, of course. :-) Melancholic, yet rather comforting.

the organ on this album reminds me of Rick Wright. and the classic period of Careful With That Ax Eugene' era Pink Floyd.
I love how the organ complements the strings.
labradford is the absolute antithesis to mtv. a miracle this ever made it on.
