- Isla mujeres, Mexico. This trip (20th), I determined to try to show the many views of Isla that draw me back, as well as so many other people. If you know Isla, you will know these places and love them too. Music is by wonderful Larry Joe Taylor "Isla Mujeres".
Beautifully done video Laura...thanks. Any time i'm not having the best day, I just play the video and I'm transformed. We are heading back again in January 2013 for 9 days..aghh!!
My wife and I met in the Yucatan in 1986 and we have travelled back to the region many times over the years, Isla is our favorite place. Our teenage daughter absolutely loves the Island. Such a wonderful place, it really draws you back.
I love this video. I've also visited Isla Mujeres many, many times. Sitting in Toronto in the gray and drizzling rain... watching this puts a smile on my face. Can't wait to swim in that warm crystal water and lie in that hot white sand again.
This video never fails to bring a smile to my face.Going back for 2 weeks in Dec. I've lost count how many times its been for us but its never enough.I'll see you on the beach.
Ah, beautiful. I just came back from my 2nd trip there, and can't get it out of my mind. Love Isla so much!! And I didn't know there was a song.... thank you so much! Beautiful pictures.
LOVED THIS! One of my favorites. Recognized all the places. Thank you so much. Can't wait to go back
Beautiful looking place. Lovely pics.
Thanks so much for this video! We are going for our first time, and this video has made us even more excited about our trip. Great pics, and great music.... Thanks - Marika
This is a fantastic video! It makes me want to go back to the Isla right now!
ahhhhhhhhh, thankyou, i needed that! this year will be 22 for us...simply the best. Karina and Carlos
(usually stay upstairs from chi-chi & charlies)
Headed there in a few months,,,,thank you for your beautiful video,,,,
My favorite on the island. You can go cheaper (Vistalmar is my favorite for that), but having the beach out front, the pool and close to downtown is a trifecta you can't beat.
Great Video! Isla - here we come - very, very soon :0)
Larry Joe Taylor wrote and sang it, and guess what...he was on Isla a few weeks ago playing with the local band! Blessings on your wedding!
I love Isla Mujeres. went there in December of 2010. stayed at the Avalon for 8 days. we rented a golf cart and explored the island for a couple days! so beautiful and so much to see. loved it. would love to go back one day.
Laura, Just found this (after ordering the song at Amazon in MP3). Great video. We have made about 5 "day" visits to Isla during our 34 trips to Mexico (Cancun, Playa, Cozumel, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Maya). But, no stays on Isla. That changes in February 2018 as we have a 7 night vacation there. Excited. Thanks again for the video.

Thanks Mel I hope you love it like we do. We have been to all of the places you mentioned and we feel like Isla is home not just a tourist site💕
That is a hidden gem...Piscina del Rel (The King's Bath or King's Pool) on the penensula of the Avalon Hotel. walk across bridge at 6:12 to Avalon, turn left, take the deck across the front of their restaurant, past the beach,go to villas sidewalk til you see "King's Bath"(6:31) and take the walkway. It is more or less public area. Definitely bring your mask & crackers or chips for the fish- it's like swimming in an aquarium!
cant wait for my second trip
@Larry396SS thanks Larry We are headed back too, a month or two later- kind of like going back home, it is a magnet to us.
Thanks everyone for watching. Please add your favorite thing about Isla, if you have had the chance to go there!
That bar with seats hanging over the water is right at the elbow curve as you are going to North beach... Infront of the light house, infront of Sergio's beach bar. Go and enjoy it! Then head down to Buho's at the other side of North Beach, too.
@TheDarkSideOfJesus --- Yes, but as you might know, you've got to know where the good snorkeling spots are. Beautiful, clear water usually means white sand but no fish areas, such as North beach.......rocks, algae, coral, bridges, sea grass...those are all places fish can find food, shelter and shade so look for those or ask people if you want to see great fish action! Start by asking "where is "King's Bath"...you'll be in awe!
@kunjidee --Regarding just buying a ticket to Isla, go for it- the worse you can do is find a room for 1-2 nites, which gives you a chance to shop around. Usually if you tell them you are staying a week or more, that's music to their ears! I can count 7 places we've stayed, and only one would I not go back to (we stayed one nite while we waited for an opening elsewhere) Top reasonable pics: Posada del Mar, Maria del Mar, Vistalmar.
There are SO many reasons why I love isla!!! great video! how do i can my hands on this song?
@Michael Cocivera Michael, it is Carey Dive center on matamoros near avenida medina.. I looked it up and they have a website. It has been in this location for years.
Friends- I've added "whale sharks" to my tags because Isla is a stone's throw from Isla Holbox and my friend Jorge De La O can take you to see them. If you don't know about the largest fish known to man, and snorkeling with them, you need to do a google search "whale shark isla mujeres" or pick up the latest Smithsonian mag with a photo of one on the front this month!
I've spent 1 day on Isla and fell in love. Planning on a wedding for my stepdaughter. Any ideas. Simple and lovely is all.
Great video. I went to the island a year ago and will be going back in a few months. it gave me alot of things to look for.. You took a picture of the PADI dive center at 3:59, where was that and by any chance did you get the name?
If you want to see the island, and not a golf cart tour, check this out.
@hungarianlime Larry Joe Taylor....
Im thinking of going there...just buying the ticket and seeing if I can find some budget accommodation for 3 or 4 weeks...any suggestions?
where u stay at? affordable food/drink? is it a 420 frienddly place?
We used to be "carded" at the bridge, but since the economy tanked for everyone (including Avalon), you just need to walk on by and no one has questioned us in recent years..they want the business. If you look like you don't belong, they probably are going to talk to you, tho, so blend in and be polite. Just tell them your plans if they do bug you... after all, it's a world treasure, not theirs.
where on isla is that bar over the water located??
Sorry to say it is gone thanks to a hurricane...but other joys are new!
@ricogina92 PS- Just had to say both my sons have taken their new wives and my daughter is hoping for the same! A romantic place, for sure.
