- We visited "The Silent Evolution" off the coast of Isla Mujeres, Mexico on March 3, 2011. The 400 life-sized statues were created by Jason de Caires Taylor for MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte) - Museum of Underwater Art.
The soundtrack for this video is "Wonderful Dream", provided royalty-free by LASERTRACKS via Jamendo.
i’m truly in love with this, i find it oddly amazing
The face of beauty. I admire artists who give a special and deeper meaning to life next to colors.
I really enjoyed the scenery with this short impression movie fully. Life has such beautiful faces! This is profound beauty in silence to me. There are no words left over for me to describe the beauty, serenity etc. which comes up in emotions while seeing this. Wow, Stunning! Huge credo's to the Artist Taylor!!
@Primaverarome - Yes, it's all still there. The intent is that it will last forever. Already these sculptures are considerably more covered with life than when I shot this video a year ago. Can't wait to go back!
wonderful...!!
thank for this wonderful upload Charlie
"deeply moving" pun intended
@TheWildheartmuse - I had a very similar feeling. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Beautiful, it's like the white fish are protecting the statues as they swim around and nibble on the growth. Simple beautiful.
Excellent!!!
they are off the south point of Isla mujeres in the Manchones Reef. They are at 9 meters or 25 feet
Gratidão 🙏🙏 Gratidão 🙏🙏
@stylesbradley - The statues are quite shallow, about 30 ft, and if memory serves you can find them on the west side of the island, a 30 minute boat ride north of the ferry dock on Isla Mujeres.

I find this piece deeply moving..........rather like they are all waiting for the World to change.
