Hello , may you please give guidance on reference section for FY2 STANDALONE APPLICATIONS like are the referees need to be exclusively from NHS or it can be acceptable from non uk doctors as well who have supervised the applicant as per the guidelines fixed.
You are doing great job can u nake video on non training programs or any other option if some one misses the time line for stand alone FY2 programe.

Does just showing a booking for ALS put me at a disadvantage? Does getting an ALS done by the time I apply help increase my chances of getting longlisted or is there no difference?

"It is desirable for applicants to have valid Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification or equivalent. The expectation will be for trainees to undertake relevant re-certification courses or be able to demonstrate their ability to perform life support at the appropriate level. It is desirable for applicants to hold Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent"
"Applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they have ILS, ALS or equivalent by the start of the programme. Applicants who have not already completed ILS should discuss this with their allocated foundation school and employing organisation once offers have been made."
ALS is a requirement - doesnt give you an advantage - everyone is expected to have it done before starting FY2 standalone
Is BLS or ACLS issued by American Heart Association an acceptable equivalent?

You could try to ask them to defer? or youll have to apply the year after unfortunately - alternatively try for a non-training job

Hello Doctor, I have a question. If I join non training fy2. Can I take 3-4 months off after fy2 non training and travel outside of UK. I'm interested in internal medicine training and when I checked the website, imt starts around August so can I take 3-4 months off before internal medicine training starts in August. I'll be on a tier 2 visa and my visa won't allow me to stay out of UK for more than 180 days in a year but 3 to 4 months is less than 180 days.
I'm just worried if the 3-4 months off after fy2 non training would cause any problems for me to join internal medicine training ?

Which is better? Full or provisional GMC certification? I am thinking of taking PLAB 1 in my internship and as soon as it’s done will do PLAB 2 ASAP ? But I think the internship finishes in March or such.. so will it be better if I do non training job ? Cause applications end most prolly at feb for standalone FY2.
there is no better or worse gmc registration - they are just given at different levels - if you are doing an internship then your only option is full registration - The application of fy2 is filled during the internship and started in August so you can apply to fy2 standalone training if you would like
@@IMGMarvels oh ok! So is the application for FY2 standalone accepted even when I haven’t completed internship before the application date ends? Cause later I would have to complete my PLAB 2 in UK.
@@msameer2132 yes you just have to make sure you finish your internship before the start date in August
But make sure you have passed the plab 1 and have the results before January when the application opens
@@IMGMarvels Thanks! And how much time do they take to declare the results for PLAB 2 after a 1-1.5 month prep for PLAB 2 after Feb or so..
@@msameer2132 gmc website says 6 weeks but you must have booked the exam before you submit your fy2 application (only booked not taken the exam)
When do I need to take the STJ test?
There are just 330 seats in FY2 standalone, what if I’m not selected for the year- do I go for non-training?
Yes that still remains an option! or WAST (but ive heard its not open this year due to Covid 19)
IMG Marvels WAST is not open, I think they’re open for 2022. PLABs are a thing and finding a job is another headache. 😱 Thanks for the helpful video!

The reference needed for fy2, should it be from a consultant from uk or can it be a consultant from home country?
Hi you can find detailed information about the referee in the applicant guide on the foundation programme website - we recommend double checking from there
Hi I was successful in my Fy2 standalone interview and I got an email stating that the preference window would be opening 2 days ago. However I am not able to access this preference window on my oriel profile. Do individual candidates have specific preference windows and I just have to wait till mine is opened?

If I don’t have any research, audits, or teaching experience, am I still eligible for FY2?

Hi! Yes you can still be eligible but your chances of clearing the interview become much much lower as it is quite competitive
You can do online research or teaching - you could also try to get an elective and do an audit/research/teaching in that way

That is when its supposed to be done! But make sure you will be finishing your internship by the start date of FY2!

Hello, i wanna know if I can link my application with my partner in fy2 standalone. As this is available in fy program and wast program bt I do not have any information regarding linking application with partner or friend in fy2 standalone.
Hi this is what I found on the UKFPO FAQs: "No. Linking only applies to the allocation process to the two-year Foundation Programme. Applicants for F2 stand-alone posts will not be able to link their applications."

Can anyone please upload a link for the FY2 curriculum ? I cant find in the internet what rotations does FY2 have
Its not a set pattern - the rotations will be different in every placement offered but will fit the CREST criteria
@@IMGMarvels What do you mean ? I am planning to join the FY2 standalone path. I won't know which departments I would be doing during this year ?
@@DarkSoul6484 So when you apply to FY2 standalone youll get the option of ranking the jobs available according to your preference - you will know the rotations and the location of those jobs and then depending on your score in the interview - you will be assigned one of your preferences - this might be your first or last preference or any other in between. The rotations are not standardised.
Do Stand-alone FY2 take the SJT?
