@@mikewalker4563 Hello Mike , headed to Loxton Lake ,south Nipissing and then Megnetawan area . Hoping for great weather for both of us . Have a great trip and full lures . Let me know how your trip went on return , I’ll do the same . Cheers for the reply .
Just went out this past weekend to Algonquin with buddies, managed to do some last minute booking! Looked for white water + mouth of a river (in a disclosed location of course), and we were bang on the brookies. Had tons of fun!
I just found this channel and I really enjoy it! I love the enthusiasm you have when you catch a nice fish - reminds me of myself! I am curious how far into may this trip was taken? I was there a bit too early last year and water had not yet hit that 12 to 13 degrees threshold where I find specs really start biting. There does not seem to be much budding happening on the bushes so am curious. Thanks!! Lorne
Thanks so much Lorne, glad you’re enjoying it! Just a couple average Joes who love to fish and have fun doing it 😁 Lyle is almost all the excitement for the both of us haha I’m the more calm one on the water 😂 This trip was just after ice out so that’s why there was no budding! But I’ve always found the first 3-4 weeks after I’ve put is prime time, especially towards the end of that. The week right before and after the black flies start coming out is golden!
@@TheAverageJoesFishingShow I use mono of 7.2 lb but has the dia of 4 lb avg mono. Have held 5 lbers with ease on a 5 ft telescopic rod. And smallmouth up to 6 lbs.
Trout fishing always reminds me of my grandfather 😢 he taught me how to fish when I was 4 and only 12 short years ago he passed away but he made me the fisherman I am today and fishing UA-camr!
Awesome Damon, always hard losing a role model and family member.. But at least you have amazing memories of him and yourself fishing! Hold onto those, they’ll always be cherished I’m sure!
It’ll still be on but fish will be deeper by then since the weather has been so hot this spring!! They’ll be up shallow in mornings and evenings though!
Badass! I’m heading to Algonquin May 20 for 4 days ! Watching these videos is getting me pumped.
Thanks you! Good luck your future adventures!!
Good fishing Mike .
I’m heading there on the 21st .
My first time ! I can’t wait !!!

Peaceful!
Can’t beat that part of Algonquin! 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing!! Was in the park today and lost a nice trout right at the canoe. Oh well, it was still a great day for paddle
Always a little bit heart broken when you can see them but can’t lay hands on them! You’ll get another chance! Tight lines buddy, thanks for watching!
@@TheAverageJoesFishingShow You really shouldn’t be gill grabbing trout when releasing them. You’re likely killing more than you expect.
Awesome idea for smoking. Something different too. Good job
Thanks Dave! Lyle found a honey hole haha
Those were some dandies! Thanks for sharing! Hope I catch some on my upcoming trip!
Thanks Shannon! Did you end up catching any? Sorry for the delayed response!

Awesome Peter! Keep those spots quiet so they stay good for next time 😉
Can’t wait to get to the park again to get some Brookies!! Great trip that lasted for sharing 🎣
Thanks Curtis! Appreciate it! We’re looking forward to getting back in there again soon too!

Those are some dandies
Thanks Eric! Was definitely a surprise getting big trout like that in small water!

Gorgeous fish, nice vid.. were you using mono for a creek like that? braid with leader? What pound test?
6lbs mono, just a light setup but wasn’t expecting trout of that size!

Yup
Will the bite still be on beginning of June ? What’s your thought? Also have you ever tried hair jigs or jigs with night crawlers for brookys

That's far more than average fishing in a small river .
They sure were dandies!
"NOOOO! That was a 2 pounder" -- We all sound the same
what's the lake name?
Tin foil hasn’t been made for decades
Tin, aluminum, same old same old lol
Try using salt and vinegar crushed chips for a coating .
That would be a good recipe to try! We’ll have to test it out!
