      Well be sure to drop me a line when you are done! Always fun to watch these projects come to life...
      Tomorrow I’ll be testing my depth indicator for the first time. Hope it works according to plan.

    hey sir nice content you got here. what motor do you use and how to make the water seal? thankyou

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  4 роки тому

      I used seaflow bilgepump Motors - 12 Volt for 350 gph. Since those are water-pump motors you don’t have to seal them. I already tested them to a depth of about 15 meters - just under 50 feet. No problems what so ever. 😀

    Ein super Projekt . Habe mich entschlossen dies in etwas nachzubauen . Eine Frage : wie werden die Propeller an den Motor befestigt und welche Propeller sind da im Einsatz ? die Bilgen Pumpen hab ich soweit schon vorbereitet.
    Beste Grüße

      Sehr schön. Also da sind so genannte Racer-Propeller Schrauben mit 62,5 mm Durchmesser zum Einsatz gekommen (Graupner oder Robbe), mit einer simplen Drucker-Kupplung aus Messing.
      Das Gewinde der Bilgepumpe also ausmessen - vermutlich 3,17 mm - und das Gewinde der Schiffsschraube ebenso. Meine haben ein M4 Gewinde.
      Daher die Kupplung (hier: 3,17 auf 4,00 mm) anschrauben und fertig. 😀
      Bei weiteren Fragen nicht zögern und viel Freude beim Basteln! 😁👍🏻

    Do you think 2 of these would be sufficient enough to power my kayak at around 4 to 6kmh ?

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 роки тому +1

      No. These engines give very little thrust, I think about 3-4 lbs. A small outboard motor gives like ten times as much - which is needed to propel an actual boat.
      Love the idea though!! 😃

      Ritesh Singh absolutely: the basic component instructions manual is a pdf to download from: www.seaperch.org/build
      When you get to the details, feel free to ask anything you like!
      Looking forward to hear from you! 😃👍🏻

    Wait did you say bilge pump motors as in you replaced the pump with proppellers?

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  3 роки тому +1

      Yep... cut them open, expose the drive shaft, attach the propeller with a coupler ad you are done.

    Out of curiosity do you use 1100 GPH bilge pumps? Some have said they're too powerful.

    • @agermangineer
      @agermangineer  2 роки тому +1

      I started with 350 gph and now use 1100.
      Too powerful is not true, you just have to make sure your tether, wiring and power supply can handle the high current.

      @@agermangineer Thank you for the reply. I though I remembered you using those same pumps and I believe your method of using a potentiometer to control the speed would overcome any problems with too much power. Thank you for your videos which have inspired me to try my hand at building my own ROV.

      @@trainstrains1 well, that’s my next video: I’m now using 2 potentiometers: one 6.3 Amps and one larger 10 Amp potentiometer for 3 powerpacks and max. 15 amps in total.
