+SpawnRevenge92 I was really impressed the way Alicia handled herself as a judge for the show. She should judge more often...guess judges might be a good idea down the line. I also really enjoyed the way Kristian Harloff judges.
+Konark Shukla the second half of BTtF 2 is literally exactly the same movie as the first one. Bttf 2 is messy as hell. BTtF 3 is the superior sequel. BTtF 3 is nothing like the first one.
From this point on, let Dan or Alicia host this show. They both did so great in reigning it in, in fleshing out topics, in focusing the arguments, and made great call outs. I DO NOT MISS ANDY AT ALL.
If Luke turns evil in the Force Awakens then it cheapens EVERYTHING that he fought for in the original trilogy with his father. I pray they don't devalue the franchise like that...
+Josh Jelks What. No it doesn't. Its his struggle with darkness and his father legacy, if he falls, it would not only kinda make sense, it would be a ballsy and interesting decision in the star wars universe IMO. And the "impact" would just carry through into the new films. It would go down in history. You're just biased and butthurt because it affects movies you've loved for much too long.
+Josh Jelks The only way i could see him turning to the dark side is if he decides to go rogue and take down the empire his own way. In other words he doesn't do it on purpose he just slowly slips into it. Using the dark side isn't necessarily evil, and it would be kinda cool to see a dark side jedi that was good. It's highly unlikely though.
+Jordy Lakiere "No, I'll never join the dark side, you've failed your higness, I am a Jedi, like my father before me." That is one of my favorite lines and it would lose all meaning to me, and probably to others. Luke is good, and he should be, the entire Original Trilogy shows that although powerful, the light side can beat the dark. I don't think Disney and Lucasfilm are stupid enough to make Luke evil.
Yes and I even like seeing Andy be a battler sometimes as it lets others be the judge. Variation does keep it fresh. I think they should bring guest judges and not just guest fighters. Just a thought
This was my favourite Movie Fights ever. After Dan would win a round, Scott would say "good job" and they all complimented eachother and it felt like fun. The judging was fair and justified but yet chill and not to strict and dicky, and everyone answers were great and spoken very well. Please keep them like this and not like a boring, non-entertianing one like last week.
Lol yea I don't mind the yelling if it's just that kind of vibe for the episode. But it does throw the vibe off if you have a really calm person and then someone who's super obnoxious and then someone else who doesn't even realize what show they're on. But if all 3 fighters are obnoxious and loud I can dig it lol.
Dude, Luke Skywalker can't be evil and here is why: 1. Episode 6's speech Luke did: "I am a Jedi, like my Father before me!" That was the basic statement of I'm never going to become evil like you Palpatine, you failed to turn me! Thus 2. Who is going to teach Finn and Rey how to be Jedi? The dude is going to take the up the mantle of Jedi Master and they are going to become students. 3. Luke wearing black is NOT the significance of him turning to the dark side. He wore black in Return of the Jedi to signify his change from being a Padawan to becoming a Jedi. That his innocence and naive behavior was gone.
Firstly, we don't know if he's the only Jedi left. It's assumed he is, but if you read the new canon, there are others out there. There's two in Star Wars rebels. Also, Disney has stated it will draw from the eu legends if it wants, and in the Ed, there is an arc where Luke falls to the dark
calebmsmith1 I highly doubt Disney is going to risk such a great opportunity to make so much at the box office by pissing on the original trilogy's story. Not to mention that it'd be totally out-of-character for Luke if he does turn dark, so again not likely.
I can't believe nobody said the hyperspace jump when asked what the best part of the star wars trailer was, that was the best shot of a hyperspace jump I've ever seen
+ashowofhands7 Are these based on how many times they win a topic or win the whole thing? I ask because Nick Mundy has won 4 times? I don't follow these vids religiously, but has Nick actually won movie fights before?
+Cee Bee Yeah. Hope. Like the prequels didn't have the LucasFilm logo. There were so many answers I could live with. The music, Kylo Ren's torture scene, the Knights of Ren in the rain, Maz Kanata's voice over, Daisy Ridley(!).
+David Mendez One series that completely encapsulates RLM's humor style is Mr. Plinkett's review of the Star Wars prequels, starring the RLM character Mr. Plinkett, a violent sociopath who really likes the Star Wars original trilogy. They provide an in-depth analysis of the failings of the movies themselves as well as the internal disaster that was the making of the Star Wars prequels. It combines thoughtful, insightful critique on the films and dark, sometimes strange humor from a hilarious character.
+DamienNightwing It's so funny how you internet nerds suddenly get kinder when the UA-camr/celebrity actually replies to your comment. It's like you're just a lonely, bitter person waiting for someone to appreciate you.
With Spectre coming out in a couple weeks, and since I know they're going to do a Bond movie for the Honest Trailer then, who should play the next James Bond after Daniel Craig?
Even if he isn't actually English, Michael Fassbender would be amazing. Or, if you want to go the traditional route, Damian Lewis is the top contender at the moment.
I think a lot of people are misunderstanding what Han was talking about. I think everyone knows about the Empire/Alliance war. What they don't know is what necessarily went down with the Sith and Jedi who were at the head of these factions. Did people know that the emperor was really a dark Sith Lord or did they just see him as palpatine and for most people they probably didn't know about or believe that the Jedi had returned with Luke. To most people they'd probably here the telephone game or never hear any of it. This would be distorted over time.
+Dakota Farmer So did I. Take out Jar Jar and give Hayden a proper script and they woud've been better though. The story lines are actually pretty good when you get to the core of the story- i.e. Phantom Menace- Jedi trying to keep the peace on a small planet under attack. Seeing Palpetine manipulate people was good too- you can really see how he comes to power. The way they connect to the originals was good, and the clones/ battles were awesome. Those films get too much hate.
I agree. The prequels most definitely had a lot of issues, they don't compare to the originals. But the prequels were still enjoyable, I don't think they're as bad as people make out.
First topic and this lady Grae Drake... Throughout all of the episodes of Movie Fights no one was ever sooooo off as she is. Lucasfilm logo? What? When I was a kid watching Star Wars I hardly realized what a logo was and after all this is quite a new logo that didn't existed back then. Great argument of Scott about the music theme, at least that was what moved me most too. Have been humming it for two or three days :)
Very glad with the [overall] outcome, i.e. the winner. Would have preferred the 3rd place and 1st place to have been in the speed round (no offense to 2nd place), just as a spectacle, but I liked the show a lot :) Didn't agree with the judges decisions a few times, but I think she had a smooth professional hosting touch that Andy normally doesn't have. Great show and thank you for having me :)
Luke turning evil would just be crapping on the original trilogy. Luke said the the Emperor that he is a Jedi like his father before him. I like Grae's idea the best on that one. Luke should be a good guy but a broken one.
+UnNuclear lol, don't they validate these answers beforehand, to make sure they don't pick the same thing? how did this get by, arguing a NON-AUSTRALIAN actor for that question? xD
***** They both have a similar posture but I think that's due to the hair color. You cant just sit there and watch? lol Its the same thing you do at home except in their studio/basement/bunker. It doesnt seem that difficult. It's not like you're fact checking or anything. Although, Dan may or may not stiff your seat when you leave.
Tony MangKb It was a white condescending joke, it was a really bad taste joke and it was racist. I don't believe or say she's racist but that comment was unfortunate. It's just my opinion.
So Dan even says that the prequels are laden with heavy handed references but nobody's talking about how from what we've seen every single aspect of the force awakens has been ripped right from the originals? They're fighting the empire again, we're following the rebels again, we're on desert and ice planets again, we're seeing x wings and tie fighters again, we're seeing the original cast again, we're seeing the millennium falcon again, they've built a deathstar again, they're picking heroes from obscurity again, I mean fuck, they're even brought back the original lightsaber! Sure they've thrown new coats of paint and new names on most of these things but it's all just the same stuff that we've seen before that I can't imagine playing out that differently than we've seen before. The entire bloody movie is a heavy handed reference, we have yet to see an original idea anywhere, it's all nostalgia and no substance.
+Alexander Forbes Abrams and Kasden can't write for shit. They threw ep 4 into a blender with a couple bits from the thrawn trilogy, poured it into a glass and said "nostalgia...you're welcome". Star Wars is no longer for me.
BF Dijidox I do too, no one wants to watch bad movies, least of all in a beloved franchise. I would be happy to be proven wrong with this one but I feel episode seven is at this point just something we have to get through to get to the actually (potentially) new stuff in eight and nine.
Love how polite everyone was in this fight! I was just thinking, though, that it might be really fun to have some kind of a prize for each fight. Maybe each contestant could bring a funny movie-related prize, or it could come from the sponsor, or whatever. I just think it would add a little something to the fights.
I watched this movie fight when it was first posted but I am re-watching it now and Alicia is such a great host. She needs to host a show because she is just naturally great. Also Dan is very charming in this episode and as others have pointed out every time someone looks at him he nods his head.
I think Luke is living as a hermit, in exile and alone. He alienates Han and Leia from his life after a tragedy befell him... and it was the destruction of his family at the hands of Kylo Ren, his nephew. Alone, he bides his time and is such a recluse that his name falls into myth and legend... until one person reappears in his life, someone he believed to be dead... and that would be his long-lost daughter, Rey.
Nice one. I hate to bring back old news, but I think the entertainment value of this episode proves the point regarding the lukewarm result on the last one. Alicia was a fine judge, but didn't really intervene much. Likewise, Dan was a fine judge last time. It was the casting that was off and had a pretty dry episode as a result last time. In this episode we are back to proper arguments coupled with passion and fun (the last too were poorly missing from the previous episode) and hence, this episode was much more entertaining. Also, some of the best arguments ever. The fighter really brought it this time. Top notch all three of them. Good fight. Good job Alicia.
Another great episode of Movie Friends, the show where 3 intelligent, informed people answer questions about movies. They all agree that all the choices are good, they politely discuss them and then a judge picks one based on the validity of their points.....very exciting.
Alicia, you need to host more, you were great! It could be because I was very fond of the topics and the fighters, but it all around was a great job by everybody.
+Joe Baker I grow up on enjoying the prequels because I grow up on them, so their is a nostalgia factor for me. I don't exactly hate the Star Wars prequels.
+dopeylongstalkings yeah fair Enough I loved the film personally but their are still tones of people who haven't seen it, my family hasn't seen it a guy at work said he hadn't seen it, it hasn't even been released In some places
Couldn't agree more with Dan about the Lucasfilm logo. When I saw that during the trailer I got a pit in my stomach, even though I know it's a total departure from the prequels
+Carl Freemerman In what world is Ruffalo superior to Hamill? Ruffalo is good but Hamill has done so much more including one of the greatest heroes in Luke Skywalker and voiced the best villain in the Joker.
In his review A.O. Scott says "Alicia Malone brings wise judgement to an otherwise intense fight. Her calm demeanor begets the fun that you'll have in this super fun movie fight" Good job!
scott and alicia are my favorite! thanks screen junkies for another great episode its been getting better and better! and grae drake did great as well she knows her stuff !
Imagine a Star Wars fight with at least one non-prequel hater... The constant insults hurled at the prequels smack of the bandwagon effect, coming from people who have committed to their hatred and are unable step back or admit they were being blowhards.
+adam cimand Although I agree with people getting on bandwagons at times... I too think the Prequels sucked bad. I'm a huge Star Wars fan having grown up watching them, I was late teens seeing Phantom Menance. As soon as I saw a Home Alone looking kid flying a space fighter in the trailer I suspected that movie was not going to be great, but it turned out to be worse than I thought. Right from the opening scene Ep 1 was either super boring, or a mess that was all over the place. I get there are people who like it, but to me it is in the same way that there are a lot of people who like Twilight, by this I mean everyone has different tastes in things it's not right or wrong. But it shouldn't be surprising that there are a lot of people who think the movie is pretty awful.
MrAlternateTheory People can have whatever opinions they want. I will not begrudge them that. But there is a segment of Star Wars fans who cannot not constantly berate the prequels. I disagree with you that the movies are bad. No big whoop. I'm sure we'll disagree on hundreds of other movies. But our fandom is truly marred by the constant need of the haters to put down movies that people like me enjoy. It is not possible for a Star Wars discussion to occur without someone jumping in - from the get go - with an insult, as if proving themselves a true fan. Screw that. I like the PT and they enriched my world and made the OT so much bigger. And I love discussing the wonderful world of Star Wars and themes and the mythology. But it is rare to not, at some point, get insulted for having the temerity to enjoy these films. By comparing the PT to Twilight, you exposed your own willful commitment to your hatred. The prequels are far better films than the majority of sci-fi/fantasy out there and if you were honest with yourself, you'd acknowledge that. Whether they are lesser than the OT, even I won't argue. But to constantly have to put them down is 100% a bandwagon effect and dishonest.
+adam cimand I actually thought I gave away my deep dislike of the Prequels by saying "they sucked bad" Likening them to Twilight was to demonstrate something, but maybe it didn't come through. You like the prequels and I think that is fine - you've watched the movies and formed your opinion, who am I to tell you that you don't like those movies. But there is a reason that many people don't like the Prequels, and it has nothing to do with a bandwagon, and everything to do with the content of those films (and because for many they do diminish the OT it leads to the strong reactions you see towards those films). I'm honestly curious what makes you like the prequels. I don't mean that in a make fun of way, or to say that anything you say could change my mind - but simply because a different perspective on the movie would be interesting. I mean I could tell you about all the things in the movie that made me dislike them, though I'm sure you've heard plenty about what people didn't like in them (Jar Jar is only one of many things). Edit: This post was really just aimed at the end of your comment - I don't know that there is any acknowledgement to be made about other sci-fantasy movies, the only other sci-fantasy movies that I can think of that I had a similar reaction to were The Matrix sequels, though if I had to rank it would be a tough one for me there... As for worse sci-fantasy movies (acknowledging you don't think the prequels are bad - throw a couple of names out there, and if I've seen them I'll let you know if I'd rank them worse than the PT. well if you want anyway, otherwise we can simply agree to disagree :).
I love that the kid uses a combination of "home alone" and "Ernest Scared Stupid" to bring the babadook into submission lmao. It's amazing! He physically owns the terrifying, albeit bumbling monster (home alone) and then uses the heart of a child (Ernest Scared Stupid) to draw the Babadook out of her! That kid was incredible and that movie had such a great message to convey through such a horrifying medium! I was truly mesmerized by it and the pay off was great.
what was the girl next to the factchecker even there for? she said literally nothing the whole time until the end where she plugged some twitter. i don't understand what she was doing. not trying to be mean, she just literally was pointless.
+D BT Thats what she was there for. The "Fan Cam" has really only been used for maybe one fan. All the other times its someone trying to promote their channel.
As a fan and reader of the Expanded Universe, my view on Luke is this: it's extremely important for his character to fall to the Dark Side, but by the time that this movie happens, it should have already happened a decade or two ago, and he should be a more balanced "Grey" Jedi.
+Wells you do know that all the books and shows minus one clone wars animated series was dubbed non canon right? So luke can go anywhere in these films whatever happened to luke in the expanded means nothing for this movie because it never happened in the movie universe.
+guitarman0365 Of course I know that. It doesn't mean they can't still pull inspiration from it. Like it or not, Luke is a boring character if he never falls to the Dark Side.
+mirko zaja What.
+TWT The original trilogy was one of the most iconic "good will always triumph" movies. And I think time has cemented Luke as an icon for that theme, with Anakin as a juxtaposition. I think if the new trilogy made Luke evil for the sake of a family legacy and follows characters as they try to overcome that legacy, that's exactly what the original trilogy did. I just can't see it working beyond being a surprise to the audience, but Star Wars is known for that too, so idk.
i know Star Wars means an awful lot to an awful lot of people and i`m not gonna disrespect that, but am i the ONLY person on the planet not into Star Wars? there must be others
I was shouting Mark Ruffalo!!
Me too
+Leon Benko Mark Strong! He's awesome in everything I've seen him in, especially in Rocknrolla and Kingsman
What about Mark Hamill? Didn't this start off as a Star Wars episode?
what about Heath Ledger
+Cameron Thomas - Uhm his name is not Mark? TBH all I could think of was Wahlberg as well. Shame on me!
Dan is definitely the best fighter on the show. And Alicia did great, I hope she does it again soon.
+SpawnRevenge92 I was really impressed the way Alicia handled herself as a judge for the show. She should judge more often...guess judges might be a good idea down the line. I also really enjoyed the way Kristian Harloff judges.
+Nathaniel R Martin Nothing Mundy does is remotely good or entertaining. It's only annoying
+Clint Bandura totally man. I don't get why people like him, the man and his ideas are an atrocity level The Last Airbender. It's just terrible.
+Konark Shukla the second half of BTtF 2 is literally exactly the same movie as the first one. Bttf 2 is messy as hell. BTtF 3 is the superior sequel. BTtF 3 is nothing like the first one.
+SpawnRevenge92 I agree, but that's probably because I pretty much have Dan's exact personality.
From this point on, let Dan or Alicia host this show. They both did so great in reigning it in, in fleshing out topics, in focusing the arguments, and made great call outs. I DO NOT MISS ANDY AT ALL.
+The Avatar Andy sucks at fighting too. Andy is just horrible. Period.
Every Time Grae looks at Dan while she talks he always nod
Like EVERY TIME
I can't unread that comment. Damnit. I can't even hear her argument now. All I see is nodding
Dammit! That's all I can see now!
Lol I wasn't trying to be the only one
+Stein God dammit!!! I'll never be able to watch this episode ever again
Damn it! Can't unsee!
If Luke turns evil in the Force Awakens then it cheapens EVERYTHING that he fought for in the original trilogy with his father. I pray they don't devalue the franchise like that...

***** Their victory was probably still a huge blow to the empire. They probably just regained their strength over the past 30 years.
The Lucas Film logo, Really?? I think that is probably the most stupid thing I have ever heard on the show!
When I saw that logo for the first time, it was a huge part of my anticipation, and still works for the Last Jedi trailers.
I love when Scott Mantz is on movie fights, he always has so much energy :D
*****
He will be banished from the lands of the release dates!
His name is Paul Stantz.
Josiah Resler
Since when? xD
*****
Well we shouldn't be too harsh on him, he was just one year off and it doesn't really matter anyway xD
*****
Well getting *one* date wrong when he usually get's all of them right, isn't so bad imo :P
I actually don't mind that Andy is away. No hate, just like the variation.
Yes and I even like seeing Andy be a battler sometimes as it lets others be the judge. Variation does keep it fresh. I think they should bring guest judges and not just guest fighters. Just a thought
I'll hate: keep him away from the judging seat.
+B-dawg8504 Guest judges would be kind cool. Not just when Andy is away but maybe on the couch with Dan (or who ever is doing the fact checking)
+Kenniets True! Also, no hate for Andy. I really think Kristian Harloff was a great judge.
+Kenniets I rly dislike him as host.
This panel needs to come back!!
Love the passion and arguments from every single person, LOVE IT!

+Mozts1 Yeah, but worse than that was the AM talk radio vibe of last week's episode. It made me soooo sleepy.
Except no one really argues, they just make points. Often they don't even try to refute eachother.
Variety works too with episodes more organized, calm like this and ones with more fire or conflict among the fighters.
Best part of The Force Awakens trailer ? " All of it ".
***** It's because I'm a Batstarwars fan.
Okay I'm only 3 minutes into this and I already LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Alicia as a Movie Fights host. Such a natural. Hope that you come back as host!!
Dude, Luke Skywalker can't be evil and here is why:

+Gackt4awesome ya but he could also play the role like revan and walk the thin line between the two and dip slowly to the darkside
+William Waldron If that's the case than it makes his entire journey in the original trilogy pointless.

***** Thank you sir
+ashowofhands7 I NEVER NOTICED MUNDY HAD SO MANY POINTS.. LOL
+ashowofhands7 Are these based on how many times they win a topic or win the whole thing? I ask because Nick Mundy has won 4 times? I don't follow these vids religiously, but has Nick actually won movie fights before?
+ashowofhands7. I can understand, team fights, but why were the comic con fights removed? I don't get that logic.
+ashowofhands7 Comicbookgirl19 needs to come back to this show.
What is pink hair lady on ?? Best part was a logo showing up ? Ok...
+Cee Bee Yeah. Hope. Like the prequels didn't have the LucasFilm logo. There were so many answers I could live with. The music, Kylo Ren's torture scene, the Knights of Ren in the rain, Maz Kanata's voice over, Daisy Ridley(!).
Yeah grae drake is usually weird but this was beyond anything she has said
She isn't very smart
+Cee Bee i had to pause the video just see if anybody else commented about it, that was some nonsensical bullshit
+Cee Bee oh man, she was so out of her league on this stage...
fantastic fights! Sound effects on point and Alicia was an awesome judge! Very slick, I hope to see more fights like this in the future!
Jesus the Luke arguments were absolutely horrid. The only one who whose argument was even half decent was Mantz
The other fights were pretty great though. Make all the fights more like this one.
Good foresight from Mantz in Round 2 about Luke!!!
Hamill. Hamill. Mark Hamill, Dan. Dan.. Mark Hamill! HAMILL! DAN MARK HAMILL GOD DAMMIT! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMILLLLLLLLLLLLLL! That was me.
+John Smith Lol me too
+John Smith
Mine was Ruffalo. I yelled it at my computer.
This is my Super Bowl.
+John Smith I think we all did. I was also thinking Mark Ruffalo.
+John Smith I was doing the exact same thing. Yellig at the screen MARK FUCKING HAMILL!!!!
what about Mark Strong?
Lucasfilm logo was only on the prequel movies. Not the original tril.
+Paul Lehman
Yeah I kind of felt like despite Scott's fannish choice, she came out with a complete wtf angle (and not in a good way).
That logo makes me think of Rogue Squadron for the N64, and it's unskippable intro sequence.
+Paul Lehman Yeah, the logo is not associated with anything great.
I saw the original trilogy yesterday and I'm pretty sure I saw it... I guess it was added later
it 1st appeared on the 1997 Special Editions of the original trilogy.
So let me get this straight... there were two fights about Star Wars but still Dan couldn't remember the name Mark Hamill.
+TheBeatlepacoProject and one of the fights was about luke *and* someone was wearing a star wars shirt
Scott Mantz just seems like a super nice guy. He was always congratulating people after they won after each round..
Dan always gets points, but he deserves them. He always makes great arguments.
Jesus Amaya yeah, he knows the right balance between defending his theory and attacking an opponents m.
Why isn't RedLetterMedia in this? They were the chosen one!!
+Artur Araújo Nobody likes them.
BAM DC I like them.
+Smokey McJoint sounds like the people that like RLM are pretentious
but that's just from one comment
+David Mendez we're not pretentious, we just love ourselves some hack frauds.
I think this is my top3 most favorite MovieFight. Loved all the guys in it! Keep talking more classics, it's a blast!
Alicia does a so much better intro than Andy. Andy is great and all but, Alicia just works!!
+Alicia Malone haters gonna hate. Keep on fighting the good fight
+Alicia Malone The force is strong in this one, Red Fury!!
+DamienNightwing I find your lack of acceptance disturbing.. Alicia is awesome
+Ivan Guzman I agree and i know i'll get a lot of flak for this but i find her more attractive than Andy as well.
+DamienNightwing It's so funny how you internet nerds suddenly get kinder when the UA-camr/celebrity actually replies to your comment. It's like you're just a lonely, bitter person waiting for someone to appreciate you.
this episode makes me like Scott a lot. he's so happy-go-lucky
Speaking about inspiration, the joy and love for movies and just the general happiness that YOU radiate, Scott Mantz... THAT is inspirational.
With Spectre coming out in a couple weeks, and since I know they're going to do a Bond movie for the Honest Trailer then, who should play the next James Bond after Daniel Craig?
Even if he isn't actually English, Michael Fassbender would be amazing. Or, if you want to go the traditional route, Damian Lewis is the top contender at the moment.
idris Elba for sure
+Benjamin Abramowitz Tom Hiddleston? :D
+Benjamin Abramowitz idris elba or philip winchester
Easy, Idris Elba
This was such an Alicia episode. I loved it
You were fantastic as a host and judge, please do this again.
Good point
I actually liked the prequel movies.....
Me too.
+joecugo you shut up. I love all the movies.. I'm a fan of the entire saga. I'm sorry you grumble too much
+Dakota Farmer Thanks for letting us know. *Send the squad
But the prequels were still enjoyable, I don't think they're as bad as people make out.
the movie is out for nearly a year and the trailer of the force awakens still gives me the chills
Alicia really should be part of the team, her and Mike are the 2 third parties who understand and further Movie Fights best
Halvetica font, exactly, all of the logo back then :)
Fantastic show! Guests were fun and memorable. have to echo Spencer, when is Dan gonna put his belt on the line? Great work Ms Malone!
Why would Luke be evil? He's the Yoda figure in this new movie, not a villain.
Not necessarily. He could be Kylo rens master
+DrZaious it's possible they are blizzaro jacen and jaina
+calebmsmith1 so....? a student doesnt turn good / evil due to his master
+natures profit no, but if they choose to apprentice themselves to a light side master, they align more light, usually. Same for dark.
+Angus Maxim Dark Empire
Scott Mantz pretty much nailed it!
Very glad with the [overall] outcome, i.e. the winner. Would have preferred the 3rd place and 1st place to have been in the speed round (no offense to 2nd place), just as a spectacle, but I liked the show a lot :)
Didn't agree with the judges decisions a few times, but I think she had a smooth professional hosting touch that Andy normally doesn't have. Great show and thank you for having me :)
I liked Mantz's energy, great guy. I hated nearly every answer Grae gave. Dan is the man, as usual.
+Tible Games Though i would have argued that the house is the villain in the Shining not Jack.
+Tible Games She picked Mel Gibson?! He was born in America, moved to Australia when he was like 13 or something.
Luke turning evil would just be crapping on the original trilogy. Luke said the the Emperor that he is a Jedi like his father before him. I like Grae's idea the best on that one. Luke should be a good guy but a broken one.
this was one of the single best fights. thank you so much for this excellent episode.
It's so fun to watch thus in retrospect....
Mel Gibson is American. He lived in Australia for a long time, but he is American.
Wow! Your right! I always thought Mel Gibson was born in Australia. Saw your comment and wanted to fact check, good job Spencer ;) haha
Right?!?! he should be disqualified from this match haha.
+UnNuclear People said he couldn't play a Scot but now look at him: Alcoholic and racist
MichaelKlump Considering he has an American/Irish dual citizenship, I'd say what he acts like doesn't really matter.
+UnNuclear lol, don't they validate these answers beforehand, to make sure they don't pick the same thing? how did this get by, arguing a NON-AUSTRALIAN actor for that question? xD
So much more enthusiasm this week, was awesome, great fights, Keep bringing Mantz back!
Wow, for a moment there I thought it was ComicBookGirl19
+Droidz Hunterz So did I. thought she gained some weight.
***** I dont know. I've seen recent CG19 videos and she seems skinnier than her.
When are you going to be on the "Fan Cam"?
***** She's always seemed slim to me.
Fan Cam is the person next to the Fact Checker on Movie Fights.
***** Would would you challenge?
During the "Mark" question I was shouting Mark Ruffalo!!!
I'm always happy to see Alicia Malone here :)
My birthday is December 18th!
J.J Abrams, dont you dare ruin my birthday...
My birthday is December 17.
+Zanzibar Haberdasher mine too and and I'm stuck in between feelings of anticipation and fear
is your name really Zanzibar haberdasher?
VMG3001
Lol. No.
Zanzibar Haberdasher it should be haha
Can't believe that a Rotten Tomatoes editor doesn't know what "Barry Lyndon" is about.
ps: That comment defending "Selma" was really racist
+IvanRSaldias that Selma statement wasn't racist. You need to chill
Tony MangKb It was a white condescending joke, it was a really bad taste joke and it was racist. I don't believe or say she's racist but that comment was unfortunate. It's just my opinion.
+Tony MangKb What do you expect? Everyone is so god damn sensitive nowadays.
It bothers me as well
Great hosting Alicia. Very balanced and analytical judging. Wish you could do it full time.
Alicia Malone should judge again! Great job. Let Andy be in the Movie Fight a little more often!
The entire bloody movie is a heavy handed reference, we have yet to see an original idea anywhere, it's all nostalgia and no substance.
i hope you're wrong... we'll have To wait and see
+Alexander Forbes Abrams and Kasden can't write for shit.
Which is why a sequel will be epic because it will be forced to do something crazy
Alone, he bides his time and is such a recluse that his name falls into myth and legend... until one person reappears in his life, someone he believed to be dead... and that would be his long-lost daughter, Rey.
oh i like that!!!!
+Spent Lizard Ok man this is borderline spooky, good job with the prediction!
Gyorkland he predicted the plot of the movie dead on !! quick call mulder & scully
Wtf man...
Damn
Great show, good topics, good guests, one of the best shows ive see for Movie fights :)
So glad Dan won that last one with Shawshank, Definitely deserved.
why would anyone get mad at someone for saying they're a bigger Trek fan than a Star Wars fan?
Cause internet
Luke is going to be like the new Yoda.
Probably
Thoughtfulbadger2017 He'll be the enigmatic omnipotent jedi that doesn't use a lightsaber and has retracted from the world
+Shawn Kroner Yea I won't be surprised if someone attacks him and he doesn't even defend himself like Obi Wan and just becomes one with the force
Thoughtfulbadger2017 That would be dissapointing, but yes.
Yea these rumors about Luke's funeral and stuff kinda bum me out I really hope he doesn't end up dead even if it's to fool us and he comes back later
I wanna see Spencer vs Dan 1 on 1.
Another great episode of Movie Friends, the show where 3 intelligent, informed people answer questions about movies. They all agree that all the choices are good, they politely discuss them and then a judge picks one based on the validity of their points.....very exciting.
Andy who? Keep Alicia as full time host/judge!! :P #RedFury
Rushmore is the Citizen Kane of Bill Murray performances
Alicia, you need to host more, you were great! It could be because I was very fond of the topics and the fighters, but it all around was a great job by everybody.
They need to get Red Letter Media on
I would love having "Mr. Plinket" on here!
Am I seriously the only person on Earth who didn't hate the prequels?
+Joe Baker I grow up on enjoying the prequels because I grow up on them, so their is a nostalgia factor for me. I don't exactly hate the Star Wars prequels.
+Cine-Mockers ^wow I guess I can't type or speak English today lol
+Joe Baker It's a small group of people. But there are people who like parts of it. I really liked the music, cgi and some of the lightsaber action.
The lightsaber battles is one of the redeeming factors to the prequel trilogy.
+Cine-Mockers if you like over choreographed fights with no emotional meaning.
+Alicia Malone you did a bang-up job, very charismatic hosting. That was an entertaining fight.
Star Wars is all about family ... what is dis fast and furious
+Jack Crispy oh they mention it hah
+Jack Crispy if star wars promoted Corona it would be more like F&F
dopeylongstalkings then Wiz Khalifa song comes in with end title with Jar Jar as end credits scene revealing he is the sith lord
+dopeylongstalkings I'm Sure all your points are valid but your still spoiling the movie 4 those who haven't seen it
+dopeylongstalkings yeah fair Enough I loved the film personally but their are still tones of people who haven't seen it, my family hasn't seen it a guy at work said he hadn't seen it, it hasn't even been released In some places
Couldn't agree more with Dan about the Lucasfilm logo. When I saw that during the trailer I got a pit in my stomach, even though I know it's a total departure from the prequels
This is probably one of the best & nicest fighters in the movie fight's i've watched so far. Alicia you did great. It was awsome!
Alicia makes Andy look like a trash judge, because he is one.
wth lol
Dan is pretty hot
+Sammantha Solis Flores I know right?! I've had a crush on him for a bit....I hope he won't read this.
He's bald though
+calebmsmith1 Still hot, though!
calebmsmith1 who gives a toss??
Great show you guys! Alicia Malone did a great job as guest judge!
There really aren't enough Marks in Hollywood to ask that question. Wahlberg, Ruffalo and Hamil in that order.
Mark strong.
+Carl Freemerman In what world is Ruffalo superior to Hamill? Ruffalo is good but Hamill has done so much more including one of the greatest heroes in Luke Skywalker and voiced the best villain in the Joker.
+Brynjar Reynisson that was first thought after Grae said Wahlberg
+Carl Freemerman Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies) is new to movies but a great actor who's worked in theatre for years.
Alicia's so pleasant to watch as the judge. You guys should let her do this more.
In his review A.O. Scott says "Alicia Malone brings wise judgement to an otherwise intense fight. Her calm demeanor begets the fun that you'll have in this super fun movie fight" Good job!
Red Fury for a permanent host!!
+shadymike88 Please no.
Maybe not permanent but I liked her
+shadymike88 Andy is garbage.
I would definitely bring back Alfred Hitchcock, so he can make a beautiful tense horror film to show how its done.
Also bring back the best director ever... Francis Ford Coppola from the 70's.
scott and alicia are my favorite! thanks screen junkies for another great episode its been getting better and better!
and grae drake did great as well she knows her stuff !
Imagine a Star Wars fight with at least one non-prequel hater...
The constant insults hurled at the prequels smack of the bandwagon effect, coming from people who have committed to their hatred and are unable step back or admit they were being blowhards.
+adam cimand The prequels sucked. Deal with it. How can you argue that they don't suck when you have jar jar binks and awesome dialogue about sand?
+adam cimand
Although I agree with people getting on bandwagons at times...
Hidious Vanity Thanks for proving my point...
+adam cimand
I actually thought I gave away my deep dislike of the Prequels by saying "they sucked bad"
Likening them to Twilight was to demonstrate something, but maybe it didn't come through.
Edit: This post was really just aimed at the end of your comment - I don't
know that there is any acknowledgement to be made about other
sci-fantasy movies, the only other sci-fantasy movies that I can think
of that I had a similar reaction to were The Matrix sequels, though if I
had to rank it would be a tough one for me there... As for worse
sci-fantasy movies (acknowledging you don't think the prequels are bad -
throw a couple of names out there, and if I've seen them I'll let you know if I'd rank them worse than the PT. well if you want anyway, otherwise we can simply agree to disagree :).
That lady's theories on Luke were probably the dumbest things I have ever heard. Like I feel stupider for having listened to it.
true I even got forrest whitaker eye watching that dumb shit
I love that the kid uses a combination of "home alone" and "Ernest Scared Stupid" to bring the babadook into submission lmao. It's amazing! He physically owns the terrifying, albeit bumbling monster (home alone) and then uses the heart of a child (Ernest Scared Stupid) to draw the Babadook out of her! That kid was incredible and that movie had such a great message to convey through such a horrifying medium! I was truly mesmerized by it and the pay off was great.
Best moment in the Star Wars trailer? A logo.
LOL is she serious?
what was the girl next to the factchecker even there for? she said literally nothing the whole time until the end where she plugged some twitter. i don't understand what she was doing. not trying to be mean, she just literally was pointless.
+D BT she was a guest
She's there to watch and have fun
+D BT Thats what she was there for. The "Fan Cam" has really only been used for maybe one fan. All the other times its someone trying to promote their channel.
Great show guys! Alicia you were charming as always! Great job hosting!
Too bad your view doesn't matter. The expanded universe is dead. We don't give a shit about the books.
MARK HAMILL!!!
I loved your review on Steve Jobs
Steve Haro Thank You!
Best episode in a while. Alicia did really well. Fights and fighters were all entertaining.
I dont know,if Luke becomes evil that really kills the original trilogy and the ending
"Never,I will never turn to the dark side."
+mirko zaja What.
+TWT did you really just copy your comment
+TWT Luke is a JEDI,and he will never be a sith
+Shade Ninja doesn't mean it's bad
Alicia
do you know what i want to do on this show
get someone on it who likes star wars ep 1 2 3
That...could be difficult. But not impossible
Janina Fischer not reaply many many people like ep 1 2 3 hell i like them
+ryan bell Not many people who are in their industry like them.
+ryan bell It would be easier to find real-life sasquatch.
+ryan bell I like Ep.3, 1 and 2 are dreadful.
