Nice to see the ' junior directors' checking the corn !
Not a farmer but have many Amish farmers. Learning a lot from all your knowledge. Great stewards of your land!
Really enjoy your calm and informative content. I learn something new on every post. Thank you Piet.
Another great video, ty for making them.....glad you got options, hope it all will work out.
Maybe your kids snapping corn stalks discovered a nutrient deficiency. Sulfur helps build salk strength. Various silage inoculants can help with fermentation and silage digestibility.
We didn't have any issues with standability in the field so I'm not concerned about that. We apply innoculant to both silage and earlage.
That is what we call in the Netherlands corn cob mix. (CCM)
Thanks for the very informative video.

Great video again, at what size is the is the maize harvest, 10 mm or more?
We're cutting at 20mm
@@pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047 Is this 20mm for giving the pens more stimulation? I know only 1 farmer overhere does 17 mm but the most 10mm.
How do you manage the corn plant material left after taking earlage?
We will incorporate it into the soil with a high speed disc.
How do you water it?
This is dry land corn, no irrigation.
What starch percentage are you getting? 35.6% this year for us in the UK.
On the samples I took we ranged from 32% to 40%. Average was right around 36%
