I've been interested in these machines since the first time i saw and heard a tractor. I don't remember when it was or how old i was, but i was quite young. One of the first memories i have was when i got to steer a Fendt 700 series tractor by the age of 6. I did it out on the field, so no collateral damage. The first tractor i worked with was a Fiat 110-90, bailing conventional hay bales. It's why i love watching these videos.

I grew up and still live in Canandaigua, NY. The first 4-wheel drive I drove was my uncles JD 8640. The first tractor I drove was my Grandmother’s JD 40S which I now own. Thank you for sharing so much information.

Thanks for sharing your history, I am from south central PA. I been around a dairy farm working as a kid in the summers. My neighbors were hay growers. Taking my first ride in a combine was something I will never forget. I wish I could go back to my youth so I could be a farmer now.

As a little kid I would ride with my grandpa on a JD A with 3 btm plow. Learned the 'art' of plowing from him. When I was in college my dad bought a used IH 806. Our first diesel tractor, seemed so big, just a toy today. Still have both of them, great machines!

Great video Jason! When I was a kid it was watching an IH 815 combine harvest soybeans in the field by my house which started my fascination with farming and like you I would bring my farm toys outside to play while watching the farmers work in the fields too.

Love that tractor. I am 50 and still farm, he's 83. Great Dad!!! John T. He still drives tractor. He drives 8760 JD. I was born red, I bleed red, I'll die red. JohnT.

I remember my first tractor ride with my dad. A John Deere 5400. Him and my uncle have a John Deere 2950. Most of what you have shown on this video I haven’t seen. But I do remember when I first saw the first CaseIH Quadtrac in 1997 when I was in the 7th grade. I saw it at a farm show called Sunbelt in Moultrie, GA. I still like tractors like you do and enjoy the videos Jason.

I love our 1086 International Tractor that we have on our farm. Great vid and happy 10 years of the channel! There is no better feeling when it’s just you, a big farm machine, and a wide open field in the middle of no where. I’d ask my grandparents to drive an extra 30 minutes to Kansas just to see all the Dealerships on the way which were Case, John Deere, New Holland, and a Gleaner Dealership. Great vid as always!

Definitely made me smile. I grew up working with pretty much all of the tractors or their close siblings in this video on our large dairy farm in southwestern Ontario. 1066s, 1466s, 1468, 2+2s, 4166s, Steigers (mostly Bearcat, Panther), Versatiles, tons of different green and yellow jobbies of course, 1370, 2470, 2670, and some very limited experience with the Ford TW tractors in the 150 hp range and a handful of Allis tractors. Thousands of hours on various skid steers as well. I still smile when I see them working. As another commonality, I graduated from the U of R as well, so I am completely familiar with all of the spots you were talking about in the Rochester region. I probably drove past all of the farms and dealerships you spoke of at one time or another. Fond memories of that region. My two year old son is a big fan of your channel as well and seems to share my specific interest in the big Steigers and their Case/IH/Steiger descendants.

My all time favorite is the Farmall H. My favorite "new" IH tractor is the 3588. Still remember sitting in a couple new ones at the local dealership owned by my great uncle & the chance to have a good many rides in the neighbors when he bought one in '81. That neighbor ended up renting out my grandparents farm when they retired. Spent many an hour watching it plow, disc, chop hay & corn. Was traded in in the mid 90s on a new 7130. Not as cool, but still an excellent machine.
Great video, BTP! Here's to another decade of YT worth watching. Regards!

I enjoy all the farm equipment. The Fox Chopper was a 'dream machine' when I was younger simply because I knew we could not ever afford to get one. A farmer in the area I now live in had one and I enjoyed seeing it in action when we visited them. In 2012 I was honored to be the vice-chair for the WI Farm Technology Days event, which was held in my home county that year. The Fox Chopper was made in that county so it was fitting that it was the commemorative toy for the event. 1,000 were sold. Selling online now for over $1,000. I won't sell mine. Second pick would be the commercial applicators. Whether it be a Miller Pro, JD, Case IH, or other brands these machines are great to work with.

My all time favorite is a JD 4955...sexiest tractor ever made in my mind.....But in my youngest days, and the first tractor i ever drove, was a MM M670 super narrow front. We had two of them when i was very young, until one burnt up in a barn fire.

Great video. We bought a new Steiger Cougar 251 in 1980 and they had a special deal where Cummins turned up the fuel pump to 310 hp on the 855 Cummins. We had it in for service once and had the pump turned up to 335 hp. It needed an aftercooler if we wanted to go higher 20 speed transmission and 23 mph on the road. We never put fluid in the tires and kept it at its stock weight of 27000 lbs but we drove faster with narrower equipment. We used an IH 47’ Vibrachisel which is a field cultivator and not a chisel plow for spring and fall tillage and it pulled it at 7 mph idled back at 1700 rpm to save fuel. We farmed just Northwest of Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and because interest rates went through the roof to 20% we leased it for 5 years with a total cost of $102000 Canadian! We used it for seeding and pulled an IH one way disk which had seed and fertilizer boxes on them. The units were each 16’wide and 3 were hitched together to make it 48’ wide. They pulled at about a 30 degree angle to the left of the tractor which created a lot of side draft. We pulled those at 7 mph also in a one pass tillage and seeding operation. You had to seed counter clockwise and fill up in a corner as the disks stopped cutting during that turn. You started off with them in the ground so it was hard on the clutch. Afterward we would drag harrow twice to help level and pack the soil around the seed with a Versatile 80’ wide harrow bar pulled by a Case 1270.

Edit: We have a Steiger Panther III ST325, too. And a Cougar II, though it hasn't run in several years. The Panther is a really cool beast to see out in the field, though. There's just something about the way it looks when it moves that feels unlike anything else.

My Grandpa had a 4020 and it was a great tractor. He used it for everything from tillage to grain cart hauler. He farmed 320 acres but never bought nothing bigger because he said time was free and the 4020 was paid for.

Love your videos sir. Your story is close to what I grew up with. I was witness to sorghum and cotton farming in South Texas. I too, have a bundle of farm equipment that I remember growing up in the early 80’s. If you have any videos showing the old school module builders or an old Big 12 grain cart working, send them my way. Thanks again.

We have a lot in common...
I used to get rides with the farmer up the road. He had mostly blue power. My favorite is the 8600 open station with duels. I worked on farms all thru high school

My favorite tractor probably has to be the John Deere 8430. I have never had as much fun driving a tractor than that one.

Probably my favorite video you've put together this far. I can relate with your memories as mine were riding my bike to a neighbor to watch him round bale with a JD 2440 or another square baling with a Poppin Johnny...good times

I live in Clarence, NY, just down the road from Kreher Farms, the Egg giant. I'm so close I know when the wind is bowing out of the E N East ha ha. Whew!, love the smell of chicken manure, NOT!! We take our Dozers, Excavators and other machines to Monroe Tractor. Oh I'm 25 yrs your senior, by the way. I was surprised that you're a whippersnapper. Excellent video.

When I was a kid I had a great uncle dairy farmer in Postville Iowa we will go down to the farm on holidays my whole family we can get together and have big dinners at the same time I would watch my great uncle get things started he had some really old John Deere tractors I’m not as I’m not anywhere near as knowledgeable as you are but I can tell you that I did enjoy the soundsI didn’t have a complete understanding of the farming operation except I know he had over 400 head of cows and he had plenty of pegs I think he had 800 head of pegs to me that was as a kid that was pretty impressive sometimes I miss being a kid because of that kind of stuff wonderful memories
