Bees really are cute. Are they the cutest arthropods? Maybe! I can't think of another. Maybe rolly poley bugs, aka pill bugs...they're pretty cute too.

Pollination is more of an adult food source. Aphids are a bit of an unusual prey in that they excrete sugary aphid dew which they use as food offerings for protection by wasps and ants. Some just go for the kill eating both the milk and the meat and ants even farm aphids

I have rescued a few honey and bumble bees with sugar water over the years, and I am comfortable handling them. I have considered having hives in my yard, but never got off my duff to pursue it. Wasps and hornets drink a lot of nectar and end up carrying some pollen with them to the next flowers, but they are slick unlike bees so less pollen sticks to them. They actually pollenate even more flowers than bees, just less efficiently
Best architecture! They make the holes hexagonal so that more honey can be stored 😍. They don't make it circular or triangular. The geometry of this shape uses the least amount of material to hold the most weight.

Pollen patty tastes SSSOOO good! and quality pollen stirred into good yogurt and left for 30 minutes for the juices to soak into it and moisten the pollen is amazing. just remember that pollen tastes like the flowers that it's made from smell, so if you get alfalfa pollen, it's going to taste like alfalfa smells!

Yellow jackets, paper wasps, great black wasps, fig wasps, bald faced hornet and plenty others pollinate.
