  • This was shot during 2019 BNSF Days at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum. CMRM volunteers bring their personal trains to these events. Consequently, the video features a variety of trains from different eras and BNSF predecessor railroads.

    One other great reason to come to America, besides personal seeing and touching UP BB 4014, is your museum. I have seen and subscribed to some fantastic MRR channels, but your's is a class apart. Right from flawlessly running 283 car monsters to the ultra realistic detail. Takes my breath away. Thank you very much for your contribution.

    Love the "open house" format of this video with multiple trains on the line. The wide angle sots give a good feeling of the overall size and layout of the railroad.

    In memory of Stobe the hobo, FNBS!
    My Grandma worked in the dispatch office of the Union RR in Monessen, PA. Both her brothers worked for the B&O.

    I had the pleasure of operating on this layout a few years ago. The best HO layout this side of the Mississippi River (and maybe even the Atlantic Ocean. ;-) I just hope our 'N'ormal scale layout in the Forney Museum of Transportation (Denver, CO), when completed, will look and operate as well. Please tell Michele we said "Hello".

    That a Bachmann Santa Fe 4-8-4? Beautiful looking and running loco! And love that IHC 4-8-2! IHC's are some of the best running steam locomotives money can buy. A shame they aren't in production anymore...

      Sorry I don't have the manufacturers of the rolling stock. These are CMRM volunteers' personal trains. I did not interview the folks who brought trains for that information.

    Bill, I just loved the chaos of the video. Not knowing what is next is, to me at least, half the fun. Over the years, I have developed a very low tolerance for exhibition officials, who seem to forget what the paying public wants and try to enforce a rigid set of running rules which makes everyone unhappy. Result?, we ignore the pratt, let chaos reign, lots of smiles and happy families, everyone wins. Perhaps we could impose for more examples of 'every man for himself' (ladies too!) from time to time? Just to break it up so to speak.

    Interesting that the Santa Fe 4-8-4 shown is numbered 3750 as there never was a 4-8-4 numbered that on the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe 4-8-4s numbering started at 3751. There was the 3751 class, the 3765 class, 3776 class, and of course the 2900 class. 3750 was an oil burning 4-8-2 mountain type.

    What brand track and turnouts were used?

    • @billr991
      @billr991  5 років тому

      The builders used flex-track, but I'm not sure which manufacturer. I seem to recall that someone told me the turnouts were hand laid.
