  • **Please note, I no longer use and cannot recommend Dixie Belle Paint products due to highly questionable business practices, contract violations, and unethical treatment of artists and retailers that led to mine and numerous others resignations in late 2021. Please see the links below for more information. I have chosen to leave this video content up for learning purposes only, but highly recommend considering other products when trying to achieve these same techniques. There are too many good product brands on the market to support a brand with these practices. I've included links to my most used options below

Brandy, I just wanted you to know that you saved the day - and my dining room chairs! Thank you for your advice. I painted the fabric on 6 DR chairs that were lavender and stained with red wine. I applied 3 coats of Drop Cloth and sanded in between coats; but the best advice ever, was using the best dang wax (rather than the spray). OMG! They are beautiful and soft. And due to Covid, I was able to let them cure for nearly 2 months (since I have no visitors). Thank you, you are the best!

I'm glad you went with painting the fabric. Looks great, matches the blinds and the cabinets so well if I didn't know I would have thought it was already that color fabric! We lost our home 2 yrs ago and lived in our camper for 9 months. While I was thankful we had the camper I was so tired of seeing orange cabinets! The cabinets in our new home are the same color as in your RV. You guys done a great job and all the hard work paid off. Thanks for the video!

I absolutely LOVE watching you & all your beautiful work! I really appreciate that you explain things so clearly. We're just in the beginning process of giving our 2010 RV a facelift. It's very dark & dated. We've painted the cupboards & hope to paint over the wallpaper. Any tips for that? Also one of the things I really hate are the ugly window valances with curved tails on either side that hold the accordian blinds. How did you remove your valances? Any special tools required?Where did you purchase your new blinds? They look so sleek. Thanks SO much!

Several tutorials recommend not using wax or topcoat if you want a softer finish (instead of leathery), and sanding the fabric with a fine grain pad to get the fabric feel even softer. They state that it still doesn’t come off on clothes and such…..I wonder what spraying with scotch guard would do after sanding the fabric soft.🤔

I did a piece for my son n his wife. Wow. I should’ve seen this first. I did fix it tho. I had to use my sander to smooth out the crusty feel. It took a lot of paint because I didn’t dilute it with water initially. It was a learning curve! I only started up cycling this year at 70! Love your videos. Good seeing your bairns n hearing hubby too but you’re a bonnie lass full of so much talent !!!

I just let a gorgeous cheap dinning set gat away because I thought it would cost to much to reupholster the chairs! Dang! I am wondering if I do paint chairs if they can be steam cleaned after because my down syndrome son is very messy! Also, where do you get dixie belle paint from? It must be the best because so many youtubers are using it and why is chalk paint the new thing? One more thing I have hanging drapes and I suppose they would have to be un stapled from the pole and taken apart laid flat to get good adhesion then stapled back, they are sort of long and flowing on the end of a 6 ft slider and draped and stapled to the pole on the top part

The batting will get wet, but dries fairly quickly, overnight usually. The wax over top makes it more easily cleanable, feels like leather when its done

I no longer use or recommend this brand of products, but by working with brands, I'm able to offer my content and tutorials for free to the average viewer. The other option would be charging users for the tutorials. I prefer the little guts get access to the info and the brands that profit be the ones paying for it. As a business, there has to be income potential or none of this info would be available at all.

I happen to 100% agree with the OP.
I'm trying to watch because Brandy is very talented and I really want her knowledge, as fabric painting is not a subject that pops up a lot (and I trust her expertise).
But the husband's interjections/jokes/interruptions are getting too much. Cameraman is not supposed to be the focus of the show.🤦‍♀️
I found it soooo distracting, and it got worse as I watched, when Brandy is trying to finish the (important) sentence and the hubby keeps interrupting with (not so important) comments. I wish next time he would just stick to reading questions from commenters.
Sorry if my comment offends anyone 🤦‍♀️
