I mean, you may not have finished it all in one day, but you still made all of that amazingly quickly. I mean, you had a coat and a jacket in there! Those alone should have taken you way longer. Bravo!
Advice from someone who has been sewing for 57 years. - Schedule at least one day per garment from start to finish and give yourself a week on a tailored coat or jacket. Then you have time to think it through, plus the time for the inevitable picking out seams that didn't go as planned. I make more mistakes with panic sewing than when I am calm and relaxed.
I’ve been sewing for 30 years and will say this, you can make multiple garments in a day so long as the prep is good. What I mean by that is, you’re working with a pattern you know fits, you have your fabric cut, any markings transferred, and ready to go. Any special thread is with that fabric, the instructions (should there be any), and any notions. Get them all together don’t just assume you still have those buttons or a zipper that’s the right length. I lost a ton of weight when I stopped breastfeeding and literally didn’t have any clothes. I managed to make several shirts in one day just by doing a little prep. Four tops, two days, while still dealing with two kids and a spouse during a pandemic- and doing distance learning.
I am also a "slow sewer"... mostly because I hate ripping! I generally don't often make mistakes because I have been sewing for 100 years (well, 50+), but I really don't like to have to backtrack on projects. Yes, I have sometimes had marathon days of sewing, but it is not my preferred timeframe.
U r a true fiber crafts person. I've looked at other UA-cam sites that claim that privilege. First ur site is professionally produced. Second u don't take an hour to explain a 15 min project. Third, ur intelligence in interpreting old English is unsurpassed by any other. Thanks for very informative vids.
Loved that cold open! XD I'm so impressed that you were able to sew so many pieces, even if it's not the original 1 day that you were aiming for. They all turned out great, really love that coat in particular!
Terrific pumpkin fleece housecoat! A coat, a jacket, and a flannel shirt! Wow. Very impressive. They all look great, dresses and jumper too. Agree with J Judy though. You should definitely give yourself more time in the future.
Haven’t watched your videos in a bit (trying to cut down on the time watching other people do things and do things myself!). You have grown so much in your sewing, and your confidence in your skills and more comfortable in front of the camera. So nice to see you growing so much! Great or on all these!
Hi,you got so much done, I'm impressed by it, try to be less overwhelming on your expectation of goodies for one day,it's amazing what you can do please be gently with yourself.💖
I really like all the Garments you made! And I also thought the Pinafore with the Grey shirt underneath. It dresses it down and makes a more casual look
I love that you made all of these, but also you have clearly never watched project runway because even those crazy experienced sewists can barely get two pieces done in a day. XD Great job!
This was the first video i have seen of yours but wont be the last. When i saw the machine you were using, i was like no wonder. That machine, even tho very lovely, is slow. If you had a modem machine, you may have been able to get 3 or 4 done. I will be coming back for more. Your dog is too cute for words.
I knew the answer before you started!! I do the same thing I always underestimate the time I will need! Both in general and in the interruptions of real life! That said I’m impressed with what you did get done in a day!! Your fall wardrobe is lovely. I’m sure that you will enjoy it!
Dude everything is beautiful, you did such a great job, especially with a limited time frame! (Lol answered my own question while rewatching the video 😂 Awesome robe, looks lovely!! 🌻)
Wow! These came out beautifully! Any time I panic sew, the garments never come out well. Sure they might be wearable but I'm never happy with the outcome. I love the coat! It came out so well. What fabric did you use for it?
Okay, can you or someone tell me what video you were watching while cleaning your desk at the beginning? Cuz that looked like a fun craftsy artsy creation type channel that needs to get added to my "stuff to do while crafting" list. 👀
It looked like Morgan Donner...and she is amazing! She does a pretty wide spectrum of stuff, but it's mostly period stuff(medieval, Renaissance, Victorian).

@@leah_gg1 That too, if you are not sure of the pattern, have not sewn for that person or are generally unsure of your skill level.

I saw this title and went, “NO! Stop doing that to yourself!” As a professed slow sewer I panic at the thought. Love your pieces though.
I had the same reaction..
I'm sort of a fast sewer, but I still had a bit of a panic. What a stressful, self-imposed deadline!

Your desk is an absolute mood.

Really love the time-lapses of the skyline and the knitting needle holding your bun!
Don't mind me also recognizing the Chateau Diaries during the clean up phase! Love Stephanie and all the Lalanders

If I had to pick a favourite, the autumn coat is top notch.
I've made a similar house coat out of an old wool bed blanket I got from a thrift shop. I absolutely recommend it to anyone considering making one
Inpressive,.and glad you include the entertaining antics of Nutella..

Me: needs half a month for a circle skirt
You: Sews five stunning pieces in a couple of days! And they all turn out beautiful!! I'm super impressed!!
Great timing! I'm panic sewing my Halloween costume today 😅
They all turned out really nice! The pinafore especially looks so good, great choice of fabric :)
Love that 70s dress! Such an ambitious plan. 🤔 But you got there in the end and that's what matters.👍
I really like all the Garments you made! And I also thought the Pinafore with the Grey shirt underneath. It dresses it down and makes a more casual look
I could personally never do it. The garments were fantastic ! Love you're channel.
Wow!! Such fantastic makes!!😊✂✂✂
Everything you made looks amazing. I was also really excited because I have the same clock!
I love that you made all of these, but also you have clearly never watched project runway because even those crazy experienced sewists can barely get two pieces done in a day. XD Great job!

Love the 1940’s house coat! Did you use a specific pattern? If so, could you share? I think I need one of those in my life.
You did an amazing job! Love the floral dress fabric
Totally awesome makes couldn’t choose a favourite,well done👏👏😊💕
Such wonderful work!! The garments turned out beautifully!
I love all your outfits...looks great on you. And of course you did make a big mess of your room...
Omg that coat 😍
Take that "fast fashion"!!
I love everything you made! You did a really great job!
Dude everything is beautiful, you did such a great job, especially with a limited time frame!
(Lol answered my own question while rewatching the video 😂 Awesome robe, looks lovely!! 🌻)
You brave nut. Why do you set such a constraint? I love the housecoat. Do you have a pattern link for it?
These are so cute
My parents have a very similar clock!
These are all super pretty! And thank you for sharing your work process it's inspiring
great makes.
Cool 😀
The housecoat is absolutely lovely.
Is it polar fleece?
These all look so good! I love the house coat, was that from a pattern or did it come free flowing from your imagination? It looks so amazing!
what pattern did you use for the house coat???
"I took a bit of a break, it's now 11:40" I think I may have found the culprit xD
Top show ⭐️ ⭐️

On further review, it might not be Morgan, but she's still awesome.👍
As a turtle sewist the title is giving me anxiety XD
Ah yes…Panic Sewing…I do that a lot because my brain is bad at accurately identifying the amount of time any given sewing project will take
And there is me who is not able to complete a basic owersize SUMMER shirt in four months
Well, if nothing else, this is definitely the time of year to do delusional sewing
I think all crafters are fueled by delusional optimism.......and caffeine
