    I was given the green light in September and am officially in remission. My mind and body are still not working in unison. I have not regained my energy nor strength yet. To be honest I had more energy on the week before each round of chemo than I do now.
    I’m so impressed that you were able to exercise during chemo. I did walk though. I think I have the problem with pushing myself too hard even though I feel like it should be easy.
    Thanks for all of your videos. I watched/listened to quite a bit of them while being trapped in the house or being sickly in bed.

    Advice is always more poignant if the person has gone through chemo themselves. Starting my chemo journey my 12weeks is going to be a long hard struggle. Awesome video.🤩

    Thank you so much for the explanations. My moms going through Chemo right now (very suddenly) and now I'm trying to find as much help for her as possible. This helps me understanding her needs and possibilities a lot better.

    best exercize was shoveling snow. Take it partial shovel at a time. Take an hour and a half or more. Plenty of hydrating breaks. Slow and steady has been enough for the infamous "runners high". Aerobic. Light.

    I stopped and big mistake. My muscles are very weak. I squared 195 before chemo and now I can’t even bend. It effected my nerves. I had a IV too. I feel frustrated cuz I can’t do what I used to. I gain weight… ugh so disappointing 😢🥺😔

    Hello, I stumbled upon your channel as I’m looking for answers to my muscle building dilemma. I’ve just gone through chemo, I’m female and an avid exerciser. Before chemo I worked out with weights, cycling, running, etc...
    During chemo I lost about 20 pounds because I wasn’t interested in food or drink. Unfortunately most of the weight lost was muscle. I generally don’t have a lot of muscle naturally to begin with so I lift heavy weights to build.
    I’m now having a very hard time putting muscle back on. Im now almost 2 months post chemo. Am I expecting too much too soon? Will I ever recover and be able to build muscle again? I feel like the chemo has aged me and I don’t know if that is temporary or even common.
    I’d like your opinion on muscle building and when I might expect to be able to work out heavily. I understand that it’s different for everyone however again I’m just wondering if I need to be more patient with my recovery.
    Thank you for your insight and I’m happy to see that you’re doing well

    • @DNAFitnessUK
      @DNAFitnessUK  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, how are you? Yes you will recover and build the muscle back, don't worry! Your body has gone through a lot and it will take time to get back to how you were. Let it rest and recover, patience is key. We are all different so everyone recovers at different rates. Keep training and I'm sure you will be fine!

      Congratulations on your remission! I just finished RCHOP chemo for non-Hodgkins lymphoma. It sucks thinking what we lost - Our bodies have taken a big hit - so easy does it. My doctor recommended easing into it: light to moderate exercise (although midway through chemo I was taking 1 hour rides - bad idea!), but easy on the weights - he said our tendons and related connective tissue have probably lost elasticity and strength. I’m looking at the long-view: building up with easy cycling, walk/run, and swimming so that next year - or perhaps the year after - I’ll do my favorite sprint triathlon. We’ve just beat cancer! We can be patient. A buddy of mine said he didn’t feel like he had “normal” strength until 3 years after. I’m going to prioritize being there for my family, church and friends! God bless you!

    • @DNAFitnessUK
      @DNAFitnessUK  3 роки тому +1

      Congrats on the remission! To be honest, we all heal so differently, so start training when you feel up to it. Start of taking it really easy and build up slowly!

      @@aligatorpolo2023 : thanks for asking! Actually, to the day (today, July 14) was the last of my six infusions. So far, so good. Well, except for contracting Covid-19 bilateral interstitial pneumonia. It took me two months and supplemental O2 to climb out of the hole. I did not respect how low my immune system was - during a pandemic! (What was I thinking?!) But I’m back to running (okay, old man jogging), swimming, biking. However, being 53, going through chemo (with some lingering side effects - mostly slight neuropathy) and slight damage to lungs from Covid has left me less intense and I can tell: I just don’t have the capacity I did before. BUT - praise God! - I’m alive, I’m doing what I love, and I took a short hike in the mountains (9,600 ft elevation) the other day with my daughter. Life is great!
      Now - How are you holding up?
