My dad was maintainece for over 40 years but unfortunately he passed away just days before Christmas last year.. Stephen Harrison and it was pretty amazing to see all of the staff at brockhouses in a line waiting for the arrival of my dad's last journey.. He spent his life there even having family holidays cut short because he wanted to go back to work as my dad was the only qualified man who fixed every machine and furnace.. Miss him incredibly.
My dad used to have a business down the road from Brockhouse many years ago. The noise was always impressive. I never saw inside and always wondered so this was fascinating. Thanks.
That guy scared the shit out of me, when he stuck his hand in there, I think I would make a little shovel or a scoop to put that sawdust in there, bad ass counter blow hammer though!!
i worked there in the 80s man you ernt ya money i only worked on the cold clippin and coining press and that was hard enough no health and safty them days

yes the counterblow hammer was neat they are not as common as other types of hammers, or forge presses.
what do you spray on dies ?
Two reasons 1)blow scale out of the die impression , 2) cool the die down.
