Though, despite harsh conditions for war against one of the biggest countries in the world, ukrainian soldiers don't lose their humour while protecting free parts of Ukraine and liberating more occupied terriotires of our country! Ukrainian "propaganda" military songs remind me quite directly of our own Underground State and its struggle against the Germans in WWII - we fought not only with steel, but songs were also a very important aspect of that warfare. "Zakazane piosenki", A.K.A. "Forbidden Songs".
It's sort of similar to the current struggle in Ukraine. It's not enough to just eradicate Putinists, keeping the morale up is even more important.
@@lesnik2656 - Morale is SOOOO important in war. Soldiers can’t and won’t fight with low morale. Morale does more to keep a soldier fighting than the gear they’re given honestly. A soldier with high morale may fight with just a knife, and be willing to die in a hole there on the frontline. Low morale? Surrender or desertion. Its why we see Russians surrendering so much it nearly rivals the Iraqis in the gulf war.

I immediately think of dwarfs. Fantasy, right? But it is reality. From the UA perspective, dwarves VS. orcs is kind of how it is fought out. UA can kill multitudes of Russians, but it doesn't really matter. Any UA losses are significant. Tbh: I think calling Ruszzians as Orcs is not acceptible: they are also people. But if they use them in that way, and they are killed in that way, then I have no problem referring to them as such.

@@marocat4749 yes, there is a lot of that spirit and humor in a lot of Eastern Slavic folk music. If you enjoy that then you may want to look more into that kind of folk music
During the 1980s my father and my uncle were doing their military service and while my father got assigned to tank engine maintenance, my uncle was put in the infantry and they were just digging tranches all the time.
Dad was an anti-Tank commander in WW2, and even with them, it was much the same.

Tough place, when it comes to geography. A similar military situation to Poland, it's like a *** highway:-Mongols, Ottomans, Poles, Russians, Magyars, a bit of Swedish army, once even French and Germans/Austrians (at least twice) steamrolled through that land - and those guys are still there.
