    Ugh! I could right a book on the V6 vacuum system. Of course, I had to learn it the hard way (WHO NEEDS MANUALS!!!) I swear I find new lines every time I open the hood...😒 I think I speak for all of us in the Izusu community when I say what you do on this channel is a huge help!!

    Wow, your video was totally helpful to me to sort out where the 3 lines joined by a holder was supposed to be connected. I found the cluster laying along the plenum but none were pushed onto their ports. My old service manual offered no help determining where they went. Thanks tons. Good job.

    Dude, this video is such a help. Still don't know what the root cause of my idle issue is. I have to constantly be giving it gas to keep it running and only after driving for a bit does it run smooth. 1991 Trooper is sweet, but this problem is no fun.
    Replacing air filter, cleaning throttle body, running PEA fuel injector cleaner through it, and checking out the vacuum lines (to the best of my limited ability) this weekend. IAC was already replaced. Hopefully I'll have myself a eureka moment with it.

    Thanks for your video. Do you happen to have or know where I can find info for a 96 Rodeo 2.6L....I keep getting either small leak in evap or EGR circuit codes. I once found the switching valve on passenger side had a cracked vacuum line. I fixed that and had no issues for a couple years. The charcoal canister is all the way back at fuel tank, and I put a new EGR valve on it. It runs rough every now & then and triggers those codes. I'm unsure if it matters which lines go where on the switching valve.....I did check it while engine was cool with ignition off then on, it changed states. I just want it to run smooth & get rid of those codes. Thanks in advance.

    Do you happen to have a list of sizes (Looking for Inner Diameter ) of all the vacuum hoses?
    I caught these in the video:
    5/32
    7/32
    Anymore?

    Hey Johnny, maybe you can help me figure this puzzle out: I own a 1989 Isuzu Trooper 4 cylinder XS that I love very much. The problem that I have with it is that, when I go run an errand or take a drive in it, doesn't matter whether long or just around the corner, when I switch it off, after about ten minutes or so, when I try to start it, it cranks but does not start. I have to wait for about an hour or more before I could get it started. Then it runs nice and smooth again until I switch it off and try to start it.

    Do you have vacuum lines diagram for 1994 model Isuzu Bighorn Trooper 3.1 TD 4JG2 belt drive. Because AC idle up doesn't work.

    Great info, Johnny. Is it possible to delete most if not all of that system? Ideally I am looking for a system that is more simple with less failure points. Cheers, man

    • @Johnny5troopers
      @Johnny5troopers  6 років тому +2

      Yes, you can get rid of all of it. The truck does not any of it to run. You can cap everything on the intake. If you need A/C then you'll need to keep the lines that run to the fast idle solenoid. Keep the brake booster of course. All other vacuum stuff can be deleted.

    • @Johnny5troopers
      @Johnny5troopers  6 років тому +1

      You should keep the one that runs to the firewall or you won't get defrost I think

    Any words of wisdom Johnny? 1991 Trooper just did an engine swap with known good engine (4banger) cant get it to run.... I think this will help get the vacuum lines squared away but I read in a comment that the truck could run without most of them. I tried capping. Still won't turn over and if it does it will just die and then I'm back to square one. HELP!! I'm a total newb but fell in love with the capabilities of these little trucks. I now own two.

    First off thanks for posting the video, it was super helpful. However, once I replaced all of the lines and put everything back together my trooper will not crank.... it turns over but it is like it is not getting any fire. Any suggestions?

    • @Johnny5troopers
      @Johnny5troopers  6 років тому

      First I would determine what's preventing it from starting, pull a spark plug wire off and crank it over and see if you have spark or not. Maybe the coil wire got knocked loose? The igniter got unplugged? It's pretty hard for me to guess what could be wrong, I don't know how far it was taken apart.

    • @larrybonner3040
      @larrybonner3040 6 років тому

      Thanks for the response. I pulled the throttle body off to get to the bottom two ports and put it back on. Before I was getting a spark and now I checked and I am not. The ignition control module was relocated to the fender and it is plugged in. The wire that was going to the coil was brittle and almost broke into. Repaired that and still nothing. There is a wire that comes off of the plug that goes into the coil that goes to a distributor capacitor and at the capacitor it looks like it is about to break. Keep in mind that I am working on this after the fact, someone else tried to fix it and could not finish so I am coming in halfway through the job.

    thanks for the video. I just finished rebuilding my 2.6, and I swapped my throttle body for a wide mouth throttle body from my 94 parts Amigo. although, on the old throttle body, there is vacuum line that runs to the iac. on the new one there is no such line. where would I run the vacuum line from the iac?

      Johnny5ive I resolved this problem already, sorry for never responding. however, I rerouted all of my water lines around the intake as you did in the 5tec emissions delete video. but right now, I'm pouring coolant out of the bottom of my manifold, and I can't see where it's coming from.

    My car has been parked for 2 years and I'm getting it running again. When. I'm just at a light my car starts to choke and die. But when I'm giving it gas it's good. Can a vaccine leak cause my car to shut off?
