Lewis was miserable post-race, he didn't even want to talk to Oscar in the cool down room. Not because he was being rude, but because he felt so gutted about his P2, he didn't have the appetite to joke around and talk. I don't think Lewis knew GR was doing a one-stop until the very end of the race when he was battling him for position. That lack of communication from the team to Lewis really got under his skin. They should have made him aware of George's strategy from the get-go.

Pretty difficult decision, Lewis had everything to lose by gambling on the 1 stop whereas George had nothing to lose. Just so happened to have went George’s way because Hamilton’s car couldn’t get past George on the straights. I think we would’ve seen a completely different race towards the end if they were both fighting for the championship.

He sounded like he was holding back a lot and regardless of the eventual result, this is going to damage team harmony - as it's now Lewis vs Merc. Teamwork is about to go in the bin.

These comments are funny in some ways. I admire Lewis but one of the problems he's always had is he doesn't always think for himself on strategy. The team overule him and he agrees. Then complains when it doesnt work. Hes not the only one. Others do it too. The greats like Senna, Prost and Shumacher (there are others this is just an example) thought for themselves and were constantly changing strategy in the race depending on what others did. George took a punt on a one stopper. It may not of worked but he tried and it did in this instance. Lewis is just gutted because hes a racer and he wanted to win. Ultimately the one-stop didn't work so the team were correct and Lewis was right to keep faith with them. Presumably had he tried the one-stop, he'd have been disqualified as well. The teams have so much more information than the drivers and expect strategists with software tools, the luxury of cool calculation while enjoying tea and biscuits. In Senna snd Prosts day certainly the teams had very little information so of course the drivers call was more powerful.
