I thoroughly savored every fraction of a second of that vlog, not just because I couldn’t help but vicariously travel along with you to witness that very picturesque and scenic view, but also because your energy and enthusiasm were very contagious.

Cameroon has a few things Nigeria lacks. One is pipebourne water. No state in Nigeria still has a functional water corporation. Years of neglect during Nigeria's military regime in 70s, 80s and 90s made everything go comatose. Nigerians adapted by learning to drill their boreholes and provide their own water. Even after we returned to cilivian rule in 1999, successive administrations failed to garner the political will to rebuild the water supply infrastructure, and Nigerians, having grown used to boreholes by now, no longer bother about the lack of water infrastructure.
The second is stable electricity. Like water infrasture, decades of military rule left the electricity infrastructure in a terrible state. And as the Nigerian population grew, water and electrictiy infrastructure failed to keep pace. Today, we can'r even generate enough electricity to satisfy only Lagos not to mention the other 35 states in Nigeria.
I think Paul Biya's long reign gave Cameroon the political stability for these infrastructures to, at least, be maintained. Under Nigeria's military regime, it was hell. Military rulers don't know anything about building infrastructure. They just steal, and steal. And any attempt to criticize them are quelled brutally. At least, the present democracy we have has produced some good fruits. But I think it's time Nigerians start to insist the governemnt provides thes services; we've become top used to doing them ourselves.
