  • Visiting Cameroon for the first time and I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit and explore one of Cameroon's rich historical and vibrant coastal city, Limbe, in the South West region of Cameroon. I met the beautiful and awesome ‪@elomocaroltv‬ who showed me round the city, the tourist attractions and the Bimbia slave trade village. This video shows what all that transpired.

... But by far, my favourite part was the natural soap and the history. I read the facts about Limbe out loud. I never knew that there was a Door Of No Return in Cameroon, nor did I know it was an outpost for enslaves. This place is way too important not to have been at the forefront of history.

The painful tragic event of the trans-atlantic slave trade might be 400 to 500 years ago yet the TIMELINE still seems RAW and RECENT because our history was stolen from us and we are now only beginning to discover ourselves as the indigenous people of Africa.😢😢😥

My goodness, you lots took me down memory lane. The community field took me back to my childhood. That community field was where we go for March-pass every Feb11 and Independence Day. As a young lad we used to march from my primary school in New Town to this community field for March pass every Feb 11 to celebrate Youths Day.
After the march pass, we used to cross to the other side of the road to have a drink of water from Tim-Tim, that is the Limbe River. The drink of water will keep us refreshed to be able to watch the cultural dances. My favourite cultural dance those days used to be the famous Mbaya Dance.
Both the Botanical Gardens and the Zoo are all in close proximity to the community field. One of these days, when I visit home in Nigeria I will also try and visit Limbe which is where I was born. I hope to see these places again. You lots must keep up this good works.

Congratulation for all the information. I enjoyed seeing the Slave Trade village, for the first time, even though I have been to Bimbia ( Dikolo ) I was not opportune to teach there. After 130 years we still have those traces. Thanks for the guide of the Slave Trade village. Hope there will be continuity and protection. The scenario is too touching, tears almost ran down my cheek!
The soap bearing tree in Botanic gardens is formidable.
      How can it exploited?

Behind that mountain is probably Nigeria, somewhere in crossing rivers state? What does the CA in the names in that region of Africa mean? Cameroon, calabar....?? Are they all calabari/kalabari people? I love Cameroon, beautiful country and people. I do think a dua carriageway would open up the cities and country for rapid development. But then again, rapid development might be detrimental to the scenic beauty that's Cameroon at the moment. Nice one!!

Even if a few European soldiers die, they make large museums and huge decorated graveyards for their publicity. Yet the real horrors of mankind are never really revealed to warn us and guide us to a better future. Places like Bimbia should be on the world map and there should be a huge museum and better maintenance here with video records and printed materials to ensure that we never forget the horrors the Europeans brought on the world at large. Thank you for showing us the real history in your video. Thank you very much.

With all the respect I thank you miss you misused a word when you were talking. You said stubborn slave. Stubborn stubborn to me is, black American male. Is someone that is going against the grain. That is the definition in America.

Thanks for the observation. However, it wasn't my word, I only reported what the Guide said. Watch the video again and listen closely. For the sake of clarity, I typed out the Guide's words because I knew some people might have difficulties comprehending what he is saying given that his English isn't exactly standard.
