I find it interesting that this version of the song seems to directly be talking about Nishikiyama, whereas the original seems to be about Haruka. It makes sense that this is more about Nishiki since through Yakuza 0 we know a lot more about the friendship between Kiryu and Nishiki.
I love the composition and editing on this. It's such a simple concept (two former "brothers" forever walking past and yet also into each other) implemented so VERY effectively through framing and so forth. Kudos!

I feel like this version is sung from Nishiki's perspective, which is a nice way to change up this theme. Now we got the original that tells Kiryu's perspective of sacrificing his own life to protect the ones he love, while this version tells Nishiki's side of the story and how he's willing to throw away all he has cherished to rise the ranks of the Tojo Clan.

Have a mod for Kiwami that mostly replaces the music for that of the original's (which I almost entirely prefer) but for whatever reason replaces the music in the final Shimano fight to this. Turned it from an okay fight into an absolute blast that I purposely extended the fight just to jam.
