Guitarists Tour THE SUNSET STRIP... BY AIR!

- The legendary Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Home of the hair metal revolution and birthplace of so many bands that guitarists love... there are plenty of tours, but what better way to see it than from a vintage airplane! Myself and shred guitarist Ofer Holan climb into my 1946 Aeronca Chief and fly from Van Nuys to Hollywood to see if we can find the Whisky a Go-Go.

How fun was that??
Amazing footage from the airplane wings, it was a beautiful day for sure.
Thanks for letting me be a part of this awesome flight dude!!
Any time!
Dude! Awesome AIR METAL, Dude! Thanks!
Yeah, those camera angles were impressive too!
Glad you enjoyed!
Brings back memories, Max - 25 years ago, I used to do aerial photography for a commercial real estate company - out of a plane that was very similar. It was pretty stressful, as you see the site, shoot your first shots, look back at the camera to check the settings (this was before digital photography), look back down to shoot again - now, "where did the target go???!!!" Once shot an Olympic trial race from the air (try finding clusters of people running while your in a plane!). Landed at a lot of mom and pop airports - no manned tower - just click the mic for the runway lights to come on. Man, what I did to pay the mortgage back then! Good stuff - enjoy your content!
Sounds like a great time to me! And thank you!
A friend of mine & his father restored an Aeronca Champ from the 40s & he took me up in it 😊
Impressive!! Not only an incredible guitar player, UA-camr, but also a pilot?? Cool dude!
Now that’s a cool idea to take Ofer on a tour of one of the world’s music meccas! The pun isn’t lost on me! Airstrip, Sunset Strip! Hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣
Edit: you didn’t tell Ofer to turn off his cell before takeoff and landing, lol. 😉
Seeing long hair inside GA aircraft is an underrated image.
Amazing how you filmed that so well. Thanks for sharing.
Hey! Much respect, Max. I wasn't aware that you'd gotten a tailwheel endorsement. Sounds like you have a great relationship with the controller there at VNY. A bit of turbulence on a warm day over the city, and a smooth touchdown. That's an awesome way to spend the day with a friend.
Really cool
Lucky guys
Beautiful landing Max. Aviation Rocks, love it!
My old stomping grounds. I used to play the Sunset Strip back in the early '80s.
Ofer Holan again! How GREAT! Yo guys ... I thought I was gonna see the mile high guitar shred club in action :)
That is pretty awesome 1946, cool machine
So awesome Max🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻 Thank you for the amazing view of the SunSet Strip!!
Might seem kind of like a boring video but it would have been really cool to be up there with you! Dude is lucky Pretty cool. If you're as good at flying as you are at Guitar there was nothing to worry about! Thanks Max....
That looked like ton of fun and a change from norm - thank you!
Awesome !! Man of many talents Max. Great footage.
Awesome!! I didn't know you flew a plane!!! Awesome guitar everything!!! Been watching for years!!! God bless brother!!!
That landing was as safe as the tone you are landing on in your soloing Max.
What a trip!
Good different video. Great skills, thumbs up !
International Man of Intrigue!

Thank you!
Fantastic video! So cool😁
Muito bom esse passeio 🤘🤘🤘
Great video Bro!
Glad you liked it!
That's crazy. The last time I've flown was in a 1947 aero coupe. The guy who owned it said all those planes had to get a special inspection because some idiot had decided they were aerobatic and ripped the wings off of his. Cool plane. Rudder pedals? 👍👍🤘✌️
I m jeaulous !!!
I assume you own this plane? Cool to learn things, and find out someone is not ONLY a metal musicisn, but rounded in other very interesting things.
How in the world did that plane stay in the air when the propellor was barely turning? EEK! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
😂😂😂😂
Max do you ever fly to catalina island?
Now a good soundtrack for the video could be Pink Floyd’s “Learning to Fly” 😄
Loop de loop
what, no wing walk guitar solo ? cool video anyways
Question: Is the altitude governed by the plane or something you pick in a flight plan?
In this case, we are not on a flight plan, so the altitude is what we choose, within some limitations.
Ay max you should review jackson js12 to check up on jacksons qc
I wouldn't go up even if i had a chute on esp in LA
I'm sorry stupid question. In a plain is it kinda like a car? If you let go of the controls does it stay in kinda a neutral position and just coast? Or does the natural current pull you way off course? Just absolutely no Arial experience to even guess with.
That's a great question! You can let go of the controls for a few seconds, but then it will drift off course and eventually get out of control / crash.
A while back I contributed to your CD project. I haven't heard a damn thing since you took my money. What's going on? I tried to contact you through Kick Starter, but I couldn't figure out how to reach you through them. Please get back to me to tell what's going on?
Hey there! First off, thank you for your contribution! The album is still being worked on, but I have been making regular updates on the Kickstarter page!
