Why don't we respect the player's decision? Everyone has their own decisions based on different considerations.

After loosing on the USOpen first round, Raducanu admited that part of the reason was that she played so few matches since wimbledon... so, this post is correct, she was given the oportunity of playing more matches, even if she looses, and start the USOpen with more rithm, but her pride was bigger... bad for her and her fans.

What part of "at my own pace" don't some people understand ??

Emma is growing in arrogance every day

Really none of Osaka'a business isn't it. She should worry about her decisions , and leave others to themselves.

I think it's a good move by Emma.
If you look at what Emma did before her US open victory she was doing her A'Levels, so not much tennis just studying. Whereas after her US open victory she has just gotten injury after injury, and failed to win anything big.
So this move Emma is doing now seems to be copying her build up to her US Open victory and not everything that followed.

“Victory belongs to the tenacious” not fluke, liar, faking injuries, quitter. Do you understand?

Raducanu played in the qualifiers that led to winning the US. 10 consecutive matches. Since then, she has been lucky to string together 3 consecutive matches. Not tournaments.

Meanwhile Osaka is losing to qualifiers. I think Raducanu is out early in NY. Osaka too.

Some people are so concerned with other people's lives. It's not like Emma is out there telling everyone she's going to win everything. She has clearly stated that this year is about staying healthy. It's weird and creepy how some people seem to think she owes them something and must do as they do. She MUST go to the Olympics. She MUST play qualies. She MUST win every match! What a world we live in!

I pay her salary. I demand her to do what I want. Do you clearly understand?

She is happy to take a wild card to get into a tournament, based upon her name as a slam winner. Rather than make the effort to qualify. This could be given to a more hardworking player without the millions worth of endorsements who need to play to earn money.

@@camera2painting There you go, you are exactly who I'm talking about. You act as if it's some concern of yours what she chooses to do. She owes you nothing! And BTW, I wonder why she gets offered some wildcards.... let's think now, what could it be? Could it be something to do with that 10 match unbeaten run without dropping a set in 2021 to win the US Open? Hmmm? Every tournament has wildcards, so don't give me that crap about other more deserving players. Payten Stearns got a WC to Cincinatti and Emma beat her the previous week.

@teddyirons8240 What concern is it of yours that people who watch tennis have an opinion? The concern is that you don't like it if that opinion happens to differ from yours. That is weird and creepy. People have differing opinions on every subject under the sun. That is the reason why there is a comment section with youtube videos. To say what you think if you so desire.
Before Raducanu won the slam, she was prepared to do the work in qualifying because she needed to. The slam led to wild cards. But now the kudos of the slam have worn off. She isn't making the end of tournaments or playing regularly, and the wild cards are drying up.
You are right. Whether Raducanu plays or not is her choice. But in my opinion, a player who is willing to support the tour by playing regularly, even if that entails qualifying, is more deserving of a wild card than one who cherry picks because she is is focusing on her health.

@@camera2painting Of course you're welcome to your opinion, but what part of her saying she's going to do it her way don't you get? Has she ever complained about not being given a wildcard? No. Has she ever said she will win tournaments if playing irregularly? No. So what if some others are more deserving of a wildcard? Then let them have them! She's not complaining, you are! I don't think you really understand what wildcards are for. They are not for those who "support the tour" (what does that even mean!?), or who work hard. They're certainly not for journeymen/women tennis players. You must deep down want her to do really well if you are so concerned about her! 🙂
