Volvo Olympians were my favourite buses, though we didn't have the Royales with Stagecoach South East, but pretty much all the other bodyworks, Alexander RL, Northern Counties palatine, and East Lancs E type
As always, the UK preserves buses rather than Singapore which only did for SBS9844Z and the 5 lucky Leylands. Hope Singapore continues to preserve more retired buses to other countries like HK and UK. Also, nice catch on getting a Leyland ride! In 1:07, look closely, the license plate's letter orders are like Singapore's! Example: SBS9471R In the video: FDT43C
Singapore didn't preserve anything, 9844 was preserved by people from Hong Kong. Those Leylands in Singapore are not preserved in running condition, and not even for historical purposes. We have nothing ... Also about the number plate, that's the old suffix style system used between the 60s and 80s in Britain
Number of Singapore's *Leyland/Volvo Olympians preserved: 5 🇸🇬 **Singapore: 3 (SBS7196C/YL8508R (Bobbie The Gym Bus), The Red Bus (an office), SBS9817C (APSN Chaoyang School) Other countries: 2 🇬🇧 UK: SBS9168S/L888SBS 🇭🇰 HK: SBS9844Z *Refers to Leyland Olympian, Volvo Olympian and B10TL Volvo Super Olympian **Preserved for practical purposes. In SG, all retired public buses are never preserved for heritage.
Oh yar forgor to tell u that there are two vo2xls (non aircon) exported to the uk both converted into aircon. Idk if they’re preserved but one of them I saw the back door removed. I hope they get preserved if they aren’t now.
They were never converted to Aircon, and I think both are scrapped already. One of the volunteers at the Manchester bus museum actually drove one of the ex SBS VO2X before.
Says in sgwiki that both are still active tho. Anyways haven’t heard much from the only Volvo b10m (mk2) to still be alive at new zealand with bayes coachlines. Got any idea if it’s already scrapped?
So many historical buses during the event bring back memories of the past
Indeed, what a nice place to be
What a great event with many old buses of different types meticulously restored and cherished! Shame this doesn't happen in Singapore. :(

That's privately preserved
@@glitchFan2428 how you get in
1:26 where the wheel
Sounds like uww10x has been converted to semi automatic in recent years?
It's very possible. The driver mentioned he's not sure what gearbox it has now, but it's not the original one
@@glitchFan2428 Originally they had fully automatic hydracyclic gearboxes and used to sneeze with every gear change 😊
doncaster… a pretty familiar name 🤔😏
All I heard metroline brought SBS transit non Aircon Volvo Olympian
I think that's a Royale bodied Volvo not too sure though
Yup it's actually the very last royale bodied bus produced
0:01 I don't think so
Only batch 3 still exists
In home team tactical training centre, if it's even still there.
No scrap
Man
Olympians are all gone
