The gecko shown actually appears to be a tropical house gecko, not a Mediterranean gecko. The tropical house gecko looks similar to the Mediterranean gecko, but they do not have the defined bumps and prominent spots, along with having more defined banding. Great video though!
Oh interesting, I actually didn't realize that they were different species until now! I was wondering why different individuals had such different phenotypes, but that makes total sense. Thanks so much for the help!
No bugs swarming ALL over you?!?! Are you sure this was FL?? 🤣 Cool finds. I'm not a gecko expert, but American Wilderness might be right. You'd know better, but did that gecko have bumps on its sides? Dig those ratsnakes.
Actually now that you mention it, this might've been Alabama. Yeah I just checked it out and I think American Wilderness is on it with this one, I never even realized they were two different species. I love how I'm learning new things from this community every day haha
Hey Ben another great video. I have Mediterranean house geckoes 🦎 every where here in Pensacola Florida I Love them ❤. Thanks for sharing and stay safe out there my friend and keep the videos coming 👍.

I always enjoy your videos Ben. I've spent a lot of time down there and love the wild areas of Southern Florida.
Glad to hear that! Florida is one of my favorite places when it's too cold to explore elsewhere.

@@TheWildReportOfficial So many invasive species in FL, and those two are hard to tell apart.

Yeah they've made it up all the way to Coastal NC and maybe even beyond which I find pretty impressive. Thanks for the support!
