Mark thanks for the update. Glad everything went well and you had no complications. I am seeing a surgeon myself in Poland next month to see if he will perform similar surgery for me. That peripheral issue you are still having could be just blood. Anyway keep us posted.
You really need to discuss the risks and long term complications with the surgeon, I don't want to give improper advice. For me the surgery was a success, but it is not risk free
Thanks for the update Mark. I'm considering the same thing for massive 'cobweb' type of floaters. Unfortunately I have them in both eyes so I need to get at least one eye cleared. I've spoken with a couple of ophthalmologists. I understand that, after a vitrectomy, cataracts are a fact 100% of the time. Maybe that is due to the fact that I am older though. I was told it could be a few months or several years but - it will happen.
Glad you found it helpful. I was in the same boat as you, once my second eye got multiple floaters I needed some relief. Having one eye cleared out has been a big improvement
Seeing a retina specialist Friday. Praying for the surgery and good success. I don't even drive and I'm only 55.This has been the worse experience of my life and man I've had some bad ones.
I know this is a 3 year old video but have you ever developed cataracts? I always hear conflicting opinions about the liklihood of cataracts. Some say it's likely some say it's not all that common.
Do you had limited FOV or PVD induced victrectomy? And what about debris/target cells or any frill? How is your vision now? Any sign of catract? Thanks please reply must.
Hallo Mark , have U use air(gas) tampon during surgery procedure ? After what time period vision recovered and in what percent? Is patient still in pains ? I need those informations because I have problems with floaters in both eye and preparing for procedure ... Thank a lot . Nikola
@@ivankolev010 they are becoming less noticeable and floating less, remaining on the peripheral part of my eye. I'm noticing a large improvement now compared to where I was 2-4 weeks ago
Hello have your residual floaters got better? Do they seem to have faded or become less bothersome? I have had a vitrectomy and have new black spots. Thankyou Emily
The black spots remain but are out of the central line of vision. I had about 30-40 circles that seemed like air bubbles which are all gone. Wishing you a strong recovery

No air/gas bubble was used, pain was minimal. My vision is better than it was before surgery but not 100%
do you have PVD in surger?
to what level can you now read the letters and numbers from the desk of the formologist?
Yes to PVD. I have 20/20 vision but some residual blood/ floaters in eye

Okay thankyou for your reply :) wish you all the best
How much time after surgery you fly???
3 days later, but do whatever your doctor recommends
@@markirish8907 what solution your doctor fill instead of vitreous after surgery???
surgery is rarely a 100% success...I suffer floaters and would be happy if my central vision was clear, ...count your blessings
Any cataract?
Not yet

How’s things now. Was it pvd induced
All is well for now, yes it was
Mark Piro thanks for replying.
I wish I'd breeze through it like that. I've suffered so much and thinking of getting it but the virus.
Took me about 10 years to decide to do the surgery
@@markirish8907 Wow, I'm ten months in and my life has been severely impacted. Thanks for the video. It's amazing how many suffer.

for the most part, not completely but about 80-90% improvement
