what's the point of wasting pleat fabric when you could do a simple math to know the amount of fabric that will go around the cape lmao is very simple, measure the total circumference of the cape, and multiply it by three (leave an extra two centimeters to make the union at the end). why multiply by three? as this type of pleat the fabric is folded over itself, there are three '''layers''' of fabric in each pleat. xD If it were another type of fold, then the multiplication would be another. If it's too confusing for you, do it on paper first, then on some scrap of fabric, then make your project. oh and another thing, the bigger the pleat size, the less pleats you will have. To look the same as in the video, make the smallest pleats you can, so it will be beautiful and full as it was in the video. This project was very pleasing to watch, very beautiful sheet. Thank you for doing this. ♥
Yes I already made the multiplication of three and did a mockup before.. but the thing is after you fold the pleats, you have to topstitch on top of the pleats (to retain the pleats) and since the fabric became a bit bulky it’s hard to make the pleats folded precisely (there’s a slight difference in length after the pleats are being topstitched). It’s better to give some extra length to the circumference x3 and I also used leftover fabric for the pleats and decided to pleats the entire length anyway 😅 thank you for the comments ☺️ hope you tried making it 🥰
Your videos are so peaceful and they always make me so happy
