Favorite dman in the league. I watched Lidstrom his entire career and Forsling plays just like him. Calm, cerebral, well rounded. A model dman for kids to learn the right way to play the position. All the little details of the game that go unnoticed, Forsling is elite at. I maintain FL doesn’t win the Cup without him. He denied McDavid a wide open net tap-in in game 7 to preserve the 2-1 win. Young fans go nuts over offensive dmen, but they’re basically forwards. Fans that understand the game, appreciate just how elite Forsling is. And he still puts up points despite no PP time! I’m not going to say he’s better than Hughes and Makar, they are elite offensive skill. They are different types of players tho, different functions. For the role Forsling plays, a pure dman, he’s amongst the best in the NHL.
