Highly depends on location. It’s always about demand and supply. Compare the cities people are leaving to metros they are moving to and the numbers are very different.

my house is paid off and i don't give a damn if its value drops like crazy i love it here and im not selling...even though the offers i had on it were tempting(and it wasnt even for sale) because they were so ridiculously high. this market isn't healthy and prices need to drop a lot to get back to reality of what the majority of normal people can afford or most of america is going to be renting from blackrock.

I don't think it will be as severe as the last housing bubble bust, as then no doc mortgages, etc. allowed unqualified buyers to own homes they couldn't afford.
This housing run-up was backed by record low rates set by the govt, coupled with the 'safer at home' mantra. But affordability is out of hand so prices do have to fall, but there won't be a mass exodus. I think there will be record low inventory and low sales.
