Ah the splendid Delta Kai. Still my favorite ever UC Gundam. Sleek and sharp design, neat color scheme, can transform and has funnels and even has a power up mode. Literally everything I want in a Gundam
Fun fact : Astray No Name use the same system as this unit called n.i.t.r.o system. The system basically enchance the pilot reaction time to keep up with the machine so they can fight equally with Newtypes, it also emits blue flames just like No Name did in XC mode (In no name case it actually is blue flame but because the background sky is red in turned into purple). But this system has a drawback which made the pilot emotionally unstable with every use.
I always liked shields that basically have everything, having both defense and offense. The cannon having been based from ZZ's High Mega Cannon and the beam sabers usable both in hand or attached on the shield Edit: I think the shoulder armor of Mecha's Delta Kai is too pushed in that's why the peg doesnt connect securely. Mine can hold the shield no problem
The combination of a transformable mobile suit with a history of having a distorted frame + the white & purple colour scheme and funnel technology of the hi-v gundam.
It’s a great kit. Remember, gunpla is entirely subjective. Their are very few truly bad kits. If you like the design then get it. A lot of people take mecha’s opinion as the be all end all on what kits are good or not. It’s a dangerous mentality to have because so many people will just right a little off because he doesn’t rank it hold or higher. If you like the design, get it. You won’t be disappointed
The HG Gundam Age line was from 2011. Bandai just didn't put in as much effort as they could have with the HGUC offerings, particularly for some of the Unicorn kits. Some of them had aspects that were outdated for HG at the time, like the ReZel's lack of shoulder articulation despite being a partsformer.
I got this Gunpla from my dad as a birthday present (along with Megami Device Asra Ninja) back in May this year, and yeah, the kit is not perfect and flawed, but I still love this thing so much. I first saw the Delta Kai on SD Gundam G-Generation Overworld for the PSP and since then it became one of my favorite MS of all time. I also absolutely love the white-and-purple plus yellow color-scheme combo, so this is a definite win for me despite all the issues and being an old kit from 9 years ago.
For some reason I wasn't expecting this kit to be reviewed. Funny enough I built this myself months ago. So it's pretty cool to see mecha's opinions on the kit. Predicted his opinion on the massive amount of stickers, but did not expect the issue with the wings popping off since I did not have the problem. I bought it because it looked cool and would provide a good reason for me to use my color gundam markers. If you plan to paint it, I recommend you keep in mind it uses a light purple. So you'll need to make a light blue first and then mix in some red. I mistakenly thought it was a basic blue, but no. I got close to the color, but just barely. Also, as a warning, as said in the review the plastic is brittle. be very careful when putting the beam saber hilts in the shield, because you may break the connector stub off; demanding the hilt to be glued on if you want the gundam to look fully equipped. As silly as it sounds, twisting the hilt onto the stub is the best way I found to put it on and off.

I own the Daban Model version of this, and it was solid a rock. It didn't even feel like a bootleg. I honestly recommend buying it if it's available in your area, it's totally worth it.
I think that this would be an excellent candidate for next year’s Ver Ka, because at the moment the only way to get a 1/100 version of this Gundam is to get a resin kit for the MG Delta Plus.
I think the ‘parts rejection’ is an aspect of the era, where pegs (and holes) taper for molding purposes. You should try Forever Gundam for a really good example of this phenomenon. That said, it’s still a good kit, with phenomenal other perks.
This is a pretty good kit. My biggest gripe is that the shield doesn't stay on very well without modifications. It does look very good though. I love that beam rifle
The old pink beams looks cool but man, the new SUPER VIGOROUS LIGHT CATCHIN effect parts are so freaaakin cool.... I dont know why i associate the old beams with something from my childhood. Its weird.

I like the design of this MS. More so because it's part of the Delta Line. That said, I think the old tech on this really puts it down. By rewriting their brain to become a cyber newtype and the effects differ from pilot to pilot since one of them shows no change from using NITRO.
