- In this video, I am deadheading to a town called Stuttgart Arkansas to pick up a load of flour.. unfortunately they loaded me 1800 pounds over and I had to go back to the shipper to takeoff one pallet before I can start my journey to Spanish Fork Utah.

Hi John! I have been following you 5 1/2 years! I also follow Larry and do miss his videos! Glad to see you going through Kansas on Interstate 35. I live 20 miles from the Interstate in southcentral Kansas, and our daughter lives in Wichita! Love seeing you get loads to Utah, Idaho and Colorado. I do miss the loads from Wisconsin. Those companies should scale each pallet they put on your truck but they dont because its no skin off their nose if its overweight cuz you will work for free to have it right..if they were charged $500 for your time and trouble I guarantee they would have a scale in their building.

Well, it must be a cheap place to load. They only have concrete/hot top at loading docks and they have orange cones for the truckers to line up at docks🤨

If you are a company driver you can ask your dispatch to agree to pay any scale tickets you get. If owner op you could purchase an overweight permit for the load. Back in 2020 you could get a permit for up to 100,000 lbs on a single load for $10 in Alabama I think. Could be cheaper than backtracking to shipper. DOT overweight tickets do not affect your CSA score or CDL and they do not put you out of service unless they exceed the vehicle or tire ratings.
I got an 1800 lbs scale ticket in Georgia back around 2011. Trailer tandem locking pins would not re-engage with the tandems placed as far back as I needed. I was on a dedicated run where I would have lost the load and 1/2 week's pay if I put it in for repair. Took a chance on the GA scale being closed, it wasn't. Georgia charged $5 for every 100 lbs so the ticket was $90. load went GA to FL. Florida wasn't a problem since they let you have up to 44,000 on a tandem and I was at 35,800.
Rand Mcnally Motor Carrier atlas has the DOT telephone numbers by State so you could check before risking the scales. I only got the 1 scale ticket since I started in 2004 but I have heard from other drivers that weight tickets in the Northeast are much higher.

10:15 here in eastern Orgon and it's 89 degrees...so it's not cold.😁 Living a quite life, wonder how long that's gonna last? Thats unbelievable they have a yard puppy loading trailers and they don't have a scale there.

Technically it is 46 miles of free driving! because you only get paid for the miles driving away the second time not the first!

What GPS are you using? there should be scales all over Stuttgart, I know there used to be as I hauled in and out of there lots of times but that was several years ago. I live not far away off I-40. all of the grain haulers weigh in and out with each load

Correct....when I hauled Pepsi, Mt Dew is always loaded last because it has more sugar, and weighs more....
