We do follow Ambleside Online's bible reading guide. The rest i use it more like a book list. I even include the free read list as main reading (i do ask for oral narration). But we don't read every book. Its just too much for us. We do follow CM but just loosely. Love the concept of reading living books, narration, and copywork. So we try to incorporate those elements.
So excited to follow your journey with Ambleside! We are currently doing year 1 loosely (we are secular) with my first grader and loving it so far. Going to check out under the home, thank you for sharing them!
@@serenafreitas63 oh nice! I love hearing that year 1 is going well since we will do it with my son in a couple years. I’m excited about AO! I thought for a while that we would follow the schedule but in the end, that’s just not my style and would be too difficult. I’m excited to share more about Under the Home
I related so much to you, when you said that you felt so honored and excited to be able to read the books and do the curriculum that you’re doing next year! I feel the same exact way about our picks for next year! I can’t wait to see your videos about Under the Home and the rest of your curriculum picks for next year! 🥰
Absolutely love Land of Kakiak resources. We are using the Primer companion notebook with our reluctant reader (2nd grader). The companion notebook was a game changer for us. We are adding in the foundational phonics as well to build more confidence and mastery. I’m surprised at how much grammar my little one learned this year just using the McGuffey reader.
You will love Understood Betsy. Both of my children enjoyed it. That looks like a beautiful poetry program, but if it gets overwhelming, especially when combined with First Language Lessons, you can do what AO does for poetry and just read the daily poem without any analysis or narration.
@@YasminB-u9d yes for sure, I appreciate that. Of everything- the poetry can definitely be minimized. Or maybe I just do one of those manuscripts instead of all 3🙈
Gentle and classical its christian company but they have rooted childhood and you should look into it if you havent before. They have cool handicraft ideas.
@@danahall1282 totally, I’ve thought about that. So then I could just choose a poem or two every term to memorize out of Under the Home instead of FLL. We will likely skip the story narration in FLL also since we have so much narration otherwise.

@@AmberL-n6y awesome! Sounds like we are on a very similar track!

Are you in an RV? Awesome
@@danahall1282 haha yes, it’s one of the few places I can film peacefully!
I also love under the home's geography!
@@SaraSmilesUW it looks so good!
We are listening to stories on spodify. Are you doing the hearth magic robin hood guide too?
@@StephanieMT oh no, I didn’t know HearthMagic had a Robin Hood guide🙈
How do you find stories on Spotify? Just type them in? Or is there a specific channel?
How long are your school days?
@@jessicawatts7104 we school from 9-12. Some days we get lucky and finish early.
You might want to drop the poetry in First lang. Les. And just do the poet study, you don't want to get overwhelmed.
