A great car presented by a great presenter! As a Brit I have an affection for the Jaaaaaag and I could listen to Donald’s narrations all day. Like the late great Fred Dibnah (if you are American, look him up), Donald is a man out of his time! I know the car is from the 50’s but Donald has the class and sophistication of the 20’s and 30’s, he would have fitted right into the Brooklands scene of that period. Keep up the good work Donald!

Not only does that gorgeous inline 6 have great pipes, Donald does too. Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing these.

That was really nice of you to compliment Donald.
I don't know why some people have complained about his singing. I love that he's willing to share in that way.

I really like the singing introduction! It's kinda goofy (but in a good way) and sets your spirit in a light state.

I drive a boring old X-Type, but every time I see the Big Cat on the steering wheel, I think of the XK120 and it makes me smile.

I would be more than happy to chauffeur you across country in that Jaguar. I love to drive and what better company to have with me. When are we leaving? My aunt had one. I wanted to buy one when I was 17 and my Dad put the brakes on that idea. He saw me test driving it. Forced us off the road and let the salesman drive it back by himself. I was mortified that he did that. However later in life I did buy two XKE's. Dad was never pleased with anything I wanted to do especially my vehicle choices. Oh well.

Oh Dear ! We must have had the same dad! (unlikely , l live across the pond !) I was offered an OTS 120 for £100 . My father said don't buy that rubbish ! Buy your uncle's Austin 7 special . I reluctantly did. It stayed in the garage for 10 years and then l sold it for £80 ! 50years later It's probably worth £100 ! I have a "e" type now that l'm restoring .

the "stovebolt" chevy inline 6 was manufactured for about 70 years. ya, it wasn't as sophisticated, or powerful, as a twin overhead cam engine like the XK, but the simplicity of the pushrod driven valvetrain was a reliability asset that was instrumental in its longevity.
    BTW, i've got the 3.4L XK in my '67 Mark 2. it's a delight!

The man behind the Bow Tie, has quite a voice. Does Jay know your "moonlighting," on him? The hat matches the Bow Tie somehow, if you spilled something on either one you'd never know. Didn't Rodger Rabbit drive one of those?

  • @joshbrailsford

I agree with Donald: the 120 appears most graceful with steel wheels and rear wheel spats. Painted pale grey, and with a red leather interior, it would be perfect.

Good show about a worthy car - Donald Osborne style :) Clutch pedal placement seems an issue?
Wonder if Sir William could've had the pedal rods, moved or dog-legged, a bit? Towards the accelerator pedal?
Easier heel/toe too? This could be an easy "after-market" fix? Jay Leno could have that sorted?
You might take him aside & quietly, stick-shift him with a lesson in double clutching? Unless, he has bad knees?

Nothing sounds like a 6 cyl Jaguar. The quintessential sports car. 60 years later, has stood the test of time. Beautiful when new, beautiful today, will still be 60 years from now . Can’t say that of most cars produced in the last 20 years.

Hello Donald . Yes, the XK120 in it's purest form and l agree regarding the steel wheels . I have to confess l do hanker after a 120 FHC ! It must be awful having to drive these classic's all the time ! Still, it's a dirty job but someone has to do it ! I think Clarke Gable had one . Thanks Donald
