This does not always work, sometimes technique fails, sometimes emotions. But as a rule, all problems remain behind the scene. For example, on the third day of the Bolshoi Ballet competition, I performed a rather short but very emotional piece from Paquita. And by the draw I was first up. I warmed up, got ready, put my foot on the step leading to the stage and ... My going on stage was postponed for 5 minutes. Then for another 5. Then for 10. After they'd passed, they simply asked me to wait. And a bit more. And some more ... As a result, I went on stage almost one hour later than it was scheduled, having spent all this time standing in the wings and trying not to lose my emotional state. This is not a problem of a particular day. There's always something that will interfere and you have to go through it, overcome, surpass. Not struggling, but turning problems into one's helpers. Результат - видео или живой спектакль, в котором мы - я, моя героиня, мои партнеры, оркестр, гримеры, рабочие сцены, композитор и дирижёр - все мы шлем вам свое сообщение, свое послание и в этом наше предназначение.

I was amazed when I emailed Diana Vishneva about 16 years ago and she actually replied. And she was so lovely. Now it's sort of expected. You would be an exceptional success, based on your outstanding abilities, whether you did this or not. I would think that you do enjoy it as well. Still, it's very generous of you. It breaks down the barriers between an artist and the artist's admires. I find ballet artists, in general, to be very open and friendly with their public. You are exceptionally so. Thank you.

But no, don’t feel obligated to answer all the messages and don’t feel apologetic when you can’t. People should understand and respect that you are a dancer and not an influencer after all even though you have a great online presence. And even influencers are not replying to all the messages they received anyway, so 🤷🏻♀️

Skylar Brandt participated last season on this TV show. Zakharova said that she wrote really nice comments about it on her social media. Maria Khoreva said that Skylar wrote to her and said that it was like a fairy tale to her to compete. And Skylar only had 5 days to rehearse so it was a real feat.
