What I can't stand is how ATT has monopolized many apartments so you can only use them for internet service with a mandatory 12 month contract at $65 a month. Wish there was a less expensive option to over ride this scam.
You can also look back on your past ISP's service (what speeds did you have and was it enough, how was their support, especially their operating hours, did it have perks you didn't really use etc).

This is because there is a difference between megaBITS per second and megaBYTES per second. one megabyte (MB) equals 8 megaBITS (Mb). This means that your speed is only slightly slower than advertised.

In India we got 25 mbps up/down speed for just 750 rupee (11$) ,for 500 GB which is pretty good for fiber not. And other side mobile internet at 4G cost 300 rupees (5$) for 30 GB a month.

I can't believe your website says Comcast is the best deal in the nation. They may be the most widespread, but not the best by far. They would definitely win the award for most hated ISP.
I would recommend people google internet service in your area and check local reviews. There are hundreds, if not thousands of ISP's in the US. Don't let someone on UA-cam tell you who to go with.
Think if you get service for 4 days and then they cut their service without a warning, and then they say that you have to setup your account again paid 100 dollars or running a credit check, forcing you to have a contract, that’s xfinity may 11 2018.
my parents have cox as our internet provider and so get 50 down and 3 up but my grandpa streams a lot of shows and make me go from 40 ping to like 150 and 300 so changing the plan probably won’t make a big difference

The question is largely pointless. Most of us have near ZERO choice. Cable companies colluded to divide up the nation into markets where they agreed to not compete with each other. Competition=lower costs. No competition=ripping off the consumer. We are in a rare area in the country where verizon has rolled out FIOS. So I can choose FIOS or "cable". Cable provides zero choice. Only one cable company exists in each area so your only choice for a different cable company is to move your home. So unless you are going back to modem, dsl I don't see where you have any real choice as a home consumer. The cable companies are some of the sleaziest. They offer free upgrades to new plans at no cost, then discontinue the plan you left, so you can never go back to the cheaper plan. Optimum has done this for years. "Optimum Online" is their generic name that means nothing in particular--it is different for each customer. We used to have Optimum 50, then my landlord agreed to a FREE upgrade to optimum 60 (50 was removed from all literature), then a free upgrade to 100 (60 is gone). They just duped them into free 200 and now Opt 100 has been removed from their websites. They advertise Optimum 200 as $45 a month (psst... only for the first 12 months). Optimum 200 is a $90/month service. We used to pay $33 for Internet, now $93! And all that excess speed doesn't make everything magically better. I use all of our bandwdidth, but I'd have no problem going back to Opt60--and FIOS 50 was SOOO much better performance wise. 95% of consumers never need or use these ridiculous speeds. They rely on the ignorance of the consumer to pretend you need to spend this money on a half-duplex service. Meanwhile, if you are using wireless in your house, THAT is your biggest problem and that kills your speed and performance the most.

Your Website shows download speeds. If a customer wants good service he needs to know the upload speeds that a provider is providing. I have personally had issues with that and I would rather wait on a download rather than have lag on my computer because I am watching a UA-cam Video. I also went on your website and the search said that Spectrum was available in my area and it wasn't when I checked them out.
The reasoning is that most typical home users download far more than they upload, so that's pretty much why download speeds are significantly faster than upload.

USA Internet Service Providers are ridiculously overpriced. I am currently paying 25€ for a semi mobile Router with 30mb/s and unlimited GB (I use around 200gb/month). Greetings from Vienna, Austria. PS: The router is basically a mobile router but without a battery. It has a sim card and you just plug it into a socket and after 2 minutes its connected and that was it with the installation. Cheers

I've got 0.5 and 0.1Mbps and don't lag. Bandwidth isn't everything for real time applications like Gaming or VoIP. Latency is VERY important. Satellite, for example, is a huge nono for gaming, even though you'll have 100Mbps.

If you want to use a mobile internet solution like T-Mobile home internet, then sure. Those don't require any tech visit. If you want a traditional internet service like DSL or cable or fiber (if you're fortunate enough to get that in your area), then you may need to have tech show up to install the service. There is no exact way to know as it depends on if the home is already setup for the service or not.
