4 of the best VPNs on the market - NordVPN vs Surfshark vs ExpressVPN vs Cyberghost, but which one actually suits your cyber needs best? In this best VPN comparison, I'll discuss each VPN's pros, cons, and everything in between you need to know…

💎 CyberGhost - 83% off - vpnpro.sale/CyberGhost-discou...

🔐 Security VPN comparison:
-------------------------------
First of all, these 4 VPNs offer industry-leading encryption that adds a protective filter between your network and device. ExpressVPN and CyberGhost both use one of the most modern options on the market. NordVPN and Surfshark opted for a quality choice but theirs is a bit faster. Now an absolute must-have for privacy in the VPN world is a No-logs policy, which means that the VPN itself doesn’t store any of my online activity. I can conclude that all 4 providers have a strict No-logs policy, they’ve even been audited to support this promise.
-------------------------------
🌍 Best VPN comparison: Privacy
-------------------------------
Now, another factor that is actually more important than you think, is where the company is located. When it comes to comparing NordVPN vs Surfshark, this is one of the biggest differences I found. While NordVPN is based in Panama, a privacy-friendly country that doesn’t share users' data; Surfshark is actually based in the Netherlands. Since this country is part of the 9-Eyes Alliance, they’re legally allowed to share users’ data. Though, as I said, Surfshark maintains a No-logs policy, so it's good in my book. When it comes to ExpressVPN vs CyberGhost, there’s no need to worry as neither is based in an intelligence-sharing country. Plus all these providers use RAM-only servers, so every time the server is restarted, all data is wiped clean.
------------------------------
⏱️Which is the fastest VPN?
------------------------------
I tested all of them individually, with a baseline of 300 Mbps, and as you can see NordVPN and Surfshark are the fastest two. ExpressVPN comes in at third, with slower yet acceptable speeds. And CyberGhost definitely has some room for improvement.
Something important to note is that when VPNs connect to servers outside of their local country, this can affect the speed as well. For that reason, I tried connecting all 4 providers to a server in Germany to see how the speeds were, and then one more time connecting all of them to a Japan server to see if there were any noticeable differences.

All those vpns are a scam.
Despite using the VPN app and selecting a different location, whenever I check my IP address on Google it shows my real location rather than the chosen one. This makes it clear that the VPN service is not hiding my actual location as it's supposed to. The SurfShark VPN company address is Kabelweg 57, 1014BA Amsterdam, Netherlands, so anyone who has experienced similar issues should file a fraud complaint with "SCAMADVISER," which handles scams in that country. Moreover, irrespective of the chosen protocol or location on the VPN app, when I check the local forecast weather, it still shows my actual location, not the one selected through the app. It's evident that the VPN service is not performing its intended function of masking my IP address and location.
@@dailyshenanigans4883which one isnt
@@kindafamoustv5440 none of them. No VPN service does what they claim to do. It's all fraud.
Thanks great video. I am wondering if I can use a VPN on my router and protect all my devices. Would hooking it up to your router count as 1 device even though there may be other devices connected?
Save your money, folks. Surfshark VPN is a fraud! It doesn't matter what device you're using or what location you've chosen through the app. Either way, it should not be showing your real location's weather forecast or your location on Google Maps when the VPN app is enabled. That's the whole point of having a VPN is to hide your real location and IP address. Which it's NOT doing! The VPN service is a scam and should be reported to the authorities. 🤬
@rappere11 You can do that, but routers that offer the ability out of the box can be pricey. I would take a look to see if there is a DDWRT custom firmware available for your router which could add support? Or alternatively building your own router using PfSense. And yes, doing so does count as one single client even though all of your devices have access to the endpoint you select.
(Heads up - I didn’t realise I was going to ramble on when I started typing haha pardon the wall of text 😅)
Here’s my experience with the above:
I have a few raspberry pi’s on my network with pi-hole instances, and I’m running unbound which enables me to host my own recursive DNS servers within my local network. What I did to enable network wide VPN access was to install the Linux ExpressVPN client on one of my RPis and configured iptables to route all traffic through the pi, which was pointing to one of their servers in my country. I could still connect to different servers internationally on a per device basis if I needed to, with more than enough bandwidth available even with the additional hop in place.
I had my fun but quickly abandoned this setup - sort of inconvenient as I was getting hammered with captcha requests all over the place (probably better to use Cyberghost and have them allocate a dedicated IP that would solve that issue) and I’d configured it to drop all traffic should the VPN disconnect, so if I needed to switch servers the network would drop every time. They had no ipv6 support either which was a ball ache and having to access the terminal on my phone or pc every time I needed to switch to another local server for any reason became cumbersome.
Tbh, I wouldn’t bother with this if privacy/security is your main reason for wanting to do so.
I already run my own DNS servers locally, and host my own vpn so that my devices automatically tunnel through my home lab and have encrypted access to my DNS servers wherever I am in the world at all times. This encrypts my WLAN connections to public networks and ensures I am always behind my own firewall. I am the administrator of the entire signal chain within my direct control. On top of that, I am employed by the ISP I use so I trust that my privacy is secure with my upstream provider because I have admin access to their network and know for sure that our privacy policies and network security best practices are properly enforced.
Realistically, running all of my traffic through a 3rd party VPN would be less secure because I don’t have any access to their network and cannot know for sure how my data is being handled beyond what they claim. Trust is good, control is better. Your ISP will be able to see that you’re obfuscating your activity from them because they will see the IP of the VPN server you’re connected to, and as long as you don’t have any DNS leaks they won’t be able to monitor your activity. You are then trusting your VPN provider with your data. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and if I had to speculate on who would stand to gain more from brokering my data it would be the VPN provider for sure.
Beyond the ability to encrypt traffic between your devices and public WLAN access points - a 3rd party VPN should not be viewed as a privacy tool or a means to online anonymity.
I only use a VPN service for bypassing geo-restrictions on content and services.
I definitely recommend hosting your own VPN for security when away from home if you want to improve your InfoSec 🤙 Check out Pi-Hole, PiVPN and Unbound for this if you’re interested.
I used SurfShark and Express VPN. Surf Shark was lousy, it was always unstable. Express VPN made my PC very slow, booting up took forever and the constant updates made it a hassle. Not to mention the websites that refuse connections when users have a VPN. One of my e-mail servers refuses to woek with a VPN, I get gibberish on my screen. VPN's may be for some people, not for me. Been there done that.
But you just listed 2 Vpns... and theres thousands of VPNs out here lol

Which plan on surfshack have the camouflage option please, and does it means using Nordvpn some websites with network restrictions can still block you?

I never had a VPN, I never really had use for it, yet Im playing with the tought of getting one.
The purpose would be to protect my IP from salty kids when playing online games on the PS5.
Does anyone have any insight on the matter?
If you want to "protct IP" on PS5, you probably need to reroute your traffic from router and need a vpn that can do that. ISP provided IP addresses are dynamic though, so I do not understand the need to disguise it: why do you want to change it on whim?
The last update on 1/25/2024 left an error 0xffffffff installation failed cant be resolved is anyone else getting this error? ExpressVPN support can't fix
Just keep clearing cache, uninstalling Netflix updates, rebooting TV … sometimes takes up to 20 attempts and Netflix via Express is humming again. Still works!

I am located in the US. I want to order gifts from Australian vendors for delivery in Melbourne, Australia. I will only be using the VPN a few times a year for the purpose of sending gifts to family in Australia. What would you recommend.
probably surfshark because you don't have to spend too much if you only use few times a year. You don't have to worry about speed since you use it for sending gifts
mullvad vpn, no registration, no usernames even, you buy one month use activation code for 5€ (even with crypto)

Which of these blocks ads on UA-cam app?
I use the Brave browser and it blocks ads on YT...
I've tried all 4 and most were crap. Express VPN was the best of the lot but pricey. I'm using PIA and it is the fastest one I've found and it is reasonably priced and rather than switching to a new VPN provider every year I will be sticking to PIA...
VPNs should also prevent screen recording, screen shots, and blocking the microphone. I've yet to see any VPNs doing this.

How many servers does nord vpn have? I am torn between nord and express.
Hi, currently it has more than 6200 servers! 🙌
They're both good and have a ton of servers.
None of these have a live customer service person you can speak to. Also I notice when I had a question on setting up Nord and I sent a chat or was it email (it was a few years ago), I had to wait 24 hours for a response, if lucky.
ya, telephones are old hat on the internet now...... Live chat 'bots' are all the rage 😆 I mean some use chat direct with human, others probably have to jump through hoops, thinking their 'helping out customer'
A 'bot' is nothing but a 'stupid bot'
Same. No support.
@@HTXGalI can't speak for others, but Express VPN does have humans..
Perhaps we just say all bots online so therefore its more convenient to extent that to 'paid' services we have never used, because we always prefer free stuff
Free... yes, bots only.. You do pay extra, but we continue to be blindsided by the fact you pay extra for 'something' OTHER than a rip-off..... If no one can understand that fact, then perhaps users do deserve to be hacked.. i dunno...
what will convince people. ??? There are good deals out there, but often mistake a 'deal' the same as 'free''
No, there IS A difference.
I just want a vpn to use with Verizon so i can stream 1080p and above. I'm capped at 720p
I have a question? What are we being protected from on a VPN that without VPN ? If the government wants your data they will just get it
Yes security is important to me as long as that is truly happening on the level of my understanding-
Another question is isn't there advantages to knowing it's you so your access to your information and ID is yours? Interesting but not really?
the government physically cannot know what you're looking at past a vpn unless said vpn records it themselves then they would have to go through the vpn to get said information atleast as far as I'm understanding that doesn't mean they don't have other methods of following your foot print and a vpn is useful for getting past geo location blocks on services
VPN's have no logs. Your information is wiped free daily.

Who owns and controls these VPN's - you could have drilled down further. Unless the owner of the VPN is a known publicly listed company (Google, Microsoft, Norton), the owner of the VPN could ULTIMATELY be based in China, Eastern Europe, Russia. Being based in any country is not the ultimate owner - many China based companies are based in the US Please drill down further. Surely, a VPN based in Panama is done for a reason, to hide its ownership. ALSO, streamers are getting wise and REQUIRE location data - hence, being in China or Australia and connecting to a US server does not allow me to stream by UA-camTV, Sling, Hulu in the US.
well... technically, you can say that about everyone and everything because we all export and import from China directly, or indirectly. VPN's have it made, sitting on 'gold-mine', and don't even know it..
I figure nothing stops The Patriot Act. Content would be my biggest want.
+1 always has been. Also [their biggest[
Its works. two ways, but users only see it as 'it benefits them only'
A law which is designed to protect end users but no one question why it does the complete opposite as well. We just take THAT bit for granted.
Nord and Express were just purchased by the same company. I wish you would have touched on VPN's that are owned by China or Russia or other companies in bad actor nations.
can someone tell me how to keep my ip address? regardless of my location and network
SurfShark isn't hiding your location on Google. Just by asking Google, "what's my current location?" It will clearly show a map of where you really are, not the location that has been chosen on the Surfshark app. The VPN is totally useless! It's not hiding anyone's IP address or current location. It's a scam!!! Everyone should be reporting that VPN company to ScamAdviser!!!
That would defeat the purpose of VPN's
@@Tech-geeky most VPNs are nothing but a scam. Just go to Google maps and ask where you are, and I will show your the exact location.
I know Nord and probably others offer a static IP Address, for an extra fee. And no, that doesn't defeat the purpose. The security is still there. Everything is encripted and there is a no logs policy. Your info. is wiped daily when servers reboot.😢

NORD VPN AND URFSHARK ARE BOTH LITHUANIAN COMPANIES THAT ARE BASED IN Panama and the Netherlands.
What does that mean?
Less privacy laws than say Switzerland (which has the strongest privacy laws).
If we keep picking and choosing based on country which is 'safe' that really narrow down the selection. All these VPN companies, and only 2 out of the 4 are deemed "safer" 😆
Laws can also change too.
