Thank you for covering this! I am bumping up from a 60 gallon to a 150 and was really unsure of how to do it. I dont like my rock either so I am thinking of redoing all of that as well. Thanks again
Happy to help! Best case scenario if you keep your rock wet you can re scape under water and keep it live. But if not. You have a backup path :)
Hey bro, I’ve done a bunch of these and I gotta say the most important thing is just keep everything circulated and with the Fish I put them on bubblers so that way if the tank becomes a multiple day thing all the fish are plenty of oxygen and you can stress less about them while you get the tank moved.
You can also drill holes in the rocks and use fiberglass rods to hold them together.
I used to have one but I’m pretty sure my copperband picked it to its demise … also slowly took out. My acan/micromua

You have everything you need already. Rescape and load the new tank full of all those coral and no fish for awhile.. the coral will seed the tank with bacteria. Looking forward to the new build. Pro tip use AF stone fix to Aquascape 🫡💯
Funny thing is I’m thinking of trading most corals to the lfs and starting fresh with stuff I don’t have
What you just described is the same method I used for upgrading my reef tank, and I absolutely stole that method from reefers a lot smarter than me… can’t wait for the new tank!

I’ve seen aiptasia in sand beds, I’d be really Leary on using that sand in the new tank. One thing I’ve been considering is ordering some sand from AquaBiomics and seeding a container of dry sand in a new tank with the AquaBiomics sand that way you know you’ve got no pests and good sand to start the tank with.
Sneaky. I do have a copper and so he would likely keep them in check I was going to rinse / clean the sand but Given my fish load I think I need to retain that surface area

Sounds like a nice smaller build Deven. I like the rock structure you’re going to put together. Never used the Cipromax before. Have you thought about using the Start XLM by Brightwell Aquatics’s in conjunction with the quik cycle since it works pretty quickly..
