“But she might feel the same when she looks at you” what a strong statement never pity anyone that makes up for a living and actually happy doing it. That’s the perks

Incredible! These guys are making documentaries about rare food that even I, a Vietnamese, have never tried before. Indeed, those are the kinds of specialities that you can only find in the most remote areas.
No, but having money solves quite a few problems, which then gives you peace of mind and way less stress. Plus, she actually has money as they only make like $5 a day, $150 a month. So, while she's not rich like how we see being rich, she's richer than most of the people living there.

I worked and lived in Vietnam for 3 years. After overcoming the historical prejudice of Vietnam War, I tried to learn about the country and its people. The more I learned the more I hated my country's killing, maiming and scorching this beautiful and fertile land. Circa 5 millions were dead and wounded. It is a primitive agrarian society with history of struggle. Vietnam wanted America to help them develop and better their existence like they did in Japan and the Philippines Vietnamese Cuisine is par excellance with a touch of French. I found them extremely hardworking and diligent people. They are also very clean. I fear that Western tourist shall destroy this sleeping paradise.
The food looks great! There are Nung people in my hometown of Guangxi too, though they're categorized under the bigger ethnic group Zhuang. I see there will be zongzi (huge tightly packed sticky rice plus fillings wrapped in leaves) making in the next episode, looking forward to that! When I was little I helped grind mung beans to make those things, they needed to be cooked for over ten hours!
This reminds me of a story my father told me. Most people can appreciate a good Philly cheese steak, right? Back in the late 40s a cheese steak place opened up just outside Philadelphia and in a few years they became famous for their cheese steaks, people would come from all over Pa to get this amazing cheese steak. Well after 12 years of serving their customers, one day people showed up for their famous sandwich and found the place closed down by the Philadelphia health department. Yup, they were serving up "Horse Meat" the whole time. Some people didn't care, they just wanted their damn cheese steak, lol. Yes, my Pops was a customer when in the area, he said the meat was excellent and had a hint of sweetness to it. True story! 🌴😎🌴
Another story Ive heard was the owner made up the rumor to spark discussion/interest/outrage/publicity over the use of horse meat in his cheese steaks and encouraged everyone to try and prove it was indeed horse meat. When really it was a genius marketing ploy since no one could prove it. Tho it did leave the question unanswered.
It is legal to consume horse meat in Pennsylvania, but because the use of federal funding for mandatory inspections has been banned, retail use of horse meat is illegal. Stupid laws, very stupid.
Americans/Some Europeans: So... why horse? Indians: So... why cow? Jews/Arabs: So... why pig? Vegans: So... why meat? Me: So... If you are not eating yours give me then
Fun fact, the Thais created laos by repeatedly enslaving and try to exterminate a group of Thais living in their northern region, who rebelled and won independence. The more you know.
In my Khasi language (Austro-asiatic tribe) from North east India its 1- Wei 2- ar 3- Lai 4- saw 5- San 6- riew 7- niew 8- phra 9- khyndai 10- shiphew.
For those who laugh without reason...the girl was not naive neither was she joking...the Albino Buffalo's are worshipped as Demi-God deities, it's because of the rarity of the albino be like upto 1/100000...almost all native races across worlds treat them as deities and putting them to fight is a taboo...if another buffalo attacks that albino, it can be slaughtered then and there...so pray and you won't turn albino in this life(just kidding the last part).
Sunny I’m glad you met the Hmong people! I’m Hmong myself and yes we do use everything the animals can offer even the shit inside as well.. I hope you enjoy your meeting there..
The lady is living a true healthy life, more satisfying. We're in the west trapped to a system that keep us slave for the entire life. There is different dimension of life and that is living among nature, eat healthy and stress free life is the key.
It's not stress free, I promise that. My family are Laotian Hmong immigrants (related to Vietnamese Nung) and while their diets are natural and they live in nature, they struggled with meat shortages to the point where rodents and bugs were eaten (food shortages are even scarier), sickness was a fear bc of how far and inaccessible healthcare is, they have almost no way of advancing in the economy (poor remained pretty poor while the rich remained rich). There's nothing wrong with admiring the lifestyle but it's not "stress free"
Living in a countryside with almost no pollution, nice weather, trees everywhere, stress-free life, eat fresh food, go to sleep early. Yeah your skin gonna be smooth af
9:19 nothing weird here, just casually checking the quality of the buffalo before buying it the same way you check the quality of the vegetables and fruits at the store 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

If I’m right, the Vietnamese people make this rice stick called “Banh Tet” for New Year celebration.
Yes, Nung are Zhuang
@@outterboxthinker Actually zongzi is more like bánh ú in vietnam
😲😦😐
It's surprising that the woman in this episode is my relative.Thank you for learning and caring about the culture and customs of my hometown
This is such a wholesome video!! Sonny and Andrew are hilarious together!! Much love to your channel
She looks very happy and peace of mind can't be bought by any money

Hong Kong
That happen to a place near me too dog tacos where too good😭.
It's a joke 🤣
It is legal to consume horse meat in Pennsylvania, but because the use of federal funding for mandatory inspections has been banned, retail use of horse meat is illegal. Stupid laws, very stupid.
actually "The original horse meat cheese steak" has it's origins in Italy. In Italy they sell horse meat street sandwiches.
Thank you. Felt like I'm the too.
No boring moments with you guys. Keep it up.. God bless us all.
This looks like one of the villages where the main character from a anime grows up at
😂
I think your talking about this anime? ("SUPPOSE A KID FROM THE LAST DUNGEON BOONIES MOVED TO A STARTER Town?")
True ✔😌
Amazing how these people live. It seems to be a simple life and the people are happy. This something the American people could learn from.
This one of most highly quality UA-cam video I had ever seen.
Miss Yui has everything in life to make her happy. She has a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
The older woman's skin is beautiful
Those were the dark skinned Chinese who were forced out of China, and there are darker ones than her somewhere
It's z horse 🍖
How so
Americans/Some Europeans: So... why horse?
Indians: So... why cow?
Jews/Arabs: So... why pig?
Vegans: So... why meat?
Me: So... If you are not eating yours give me then
Chinese, why not dog/cat? We love it!
I don’t eat pork, but miss yui is almost making me reconsider 😂😂😂 just one bite 😂😂😂❤️
Vietnamese eat cat and dog too!
@@TheGrister so do Africans and even in Switzerland among other European countries
FYI, Italy do sell horse meat
The cover on Ms Yui was so rich. Congrats friend, you really elevated the prejudice of many into admiration.
That lady is so angelic [The one cooking]. Looks very kindhearted. I bet her smile heals 😁
Sonny is like Bourdain + Zimmern rolled up into one. Plus he has his own unique humor - 7 mil by next week? LET'S GOOOOO!!!
Your review is reaching to a different level with every episode. It feels like I'm eating the food sitting with you guys 🙂
Well said my friend
You and your team have really excelled since Covid, looking forward to the content when you can travel again!
If there is anyone that gets me excited to cook and try new foods is this guy 💯💯
sad that this series is going to end soon, I really enjoy and learn more about tribal way of life thanks to it
This series is ending? Why?
So they count to ten almost exactly as Thai language. Interesting. Nueng, Song, Som, Si, Haa, Hok, Jet, Bat, Gaow, Sip.
Same as Lao, but her 1 and 7 is different
Fun fact, the Thais created laos by repeatedly enslaving and try to exterminate a group of Thais living in their northern region, who rebelled and won independence.
The more you know.
In my Khasi language (Austro-asiatic tribe) from North east India its
1- Wei
2- ar
3- Lai
4- saw
5- San
6- riew
7- niew
8- phra
9- khyndai
10- shiphew.

Sonny: “Has this buffalo ever fought?”
Girl: “No, it’s albino” 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
I laughed out loud
That was awesome 🤣🤣🤣
For those who laugh without reason...the girl was not naive neither was she joking...the Albino Buffalo's are worshipped as Demi-God deities, it's because of the rarity of the albino be like upto 1/100000...almost all native races across worlds treat them as deities and putting them to fight is a taboo...if another buffalo attacks that albino, it can be slaughtered then and there...so pray and you won't turn albino in this life(just kidding the last part).
the albino is more precious than the common buffalo. why would you let it fight and risk its value.
So true. She is more happier because she has found her purpose. Love this video.
This show makes me realize how similar SEA countries are. That's literally pares kalye + sinanglaw.
Yeah they use metric units makes everything easier
Astig diba!!
Just by the name, Sinanglaw is Filipino food right?
Yup
nailed it
I just discovered this channel. You are amazing. Great job in presenting the wonderful cultures.
Sunny I’m glad you met the Hmong people! I’m Hmong myself and yes we do use everything the animals can offer even the shit inside as well.. I hope you enjoy your meeting there..
I see So many People who Live This Lifestyle ( Not so much about money ) Who are much Happier. ( Loving their Family and Working together )
Wow my Hmong people. Thank you for showing this.
Are they hmong? I mean i knoe the interpreter is hmong but the older lady is not even speaking hmong lol...
@@ItsYou2 The older lady is Nung aka Zhuang people.
@@tiffanyh629 ok, thanks for the clarification

Hong Kong
Ask that lady if she'd like to trade places with you.
Damn that elderly woman looks good skin is so smooth looking God bless her❤️
I thought the same thing. And what a lovely smile. 🙂
That's the first thing I noticed! Her skin is so clear and smooth
It's the steam from cooking all day.
Living in a countryside with almost no pollution, nice weather, trees everywhere, stress-free life, eat fresh food, go to sleep early. Yeah your skin gonna be smooth af
I really like your interpreter, she looks like she is so happy
9:19 nothing weird here, just casually checking the quality of the buffalo before buying it the same way you check the quality of the vegetables and fruits at the store 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I learn more about culture from a 17 minute video then I did throughout 7 years of school.
“Has this Buffalo ever fought?”
No it’s an albino 😂😂
🤣🤣thought that was funny
This was a funny part.
What's funny about it?
(It's true... albinos don't fight.)
@@pickledjalapeno9482 really? why? 😂
Happiness is to be content and grateful with what you have.
UncleRoger would be so proud of the MSG part
Hahahaa
lol- I thought the same thing!!! 😂
Sonny "Has this buffalo ever faught?" Translator "No Albino" Sonny's face confused as to what that is supposed to mean lmao
Haha I think its to valuable to fight it
I was laughing at that part
I wish I could travel with Sonny-his personality (from what we see on this videos) is very much like mine 😂. Keep up the amazing you all do behind the scenes to provide us with amazing content!
Wow look at the natural irrigation. The land climbs like stairs allowing the water to trickle down to each area.
Different cultures, different delicacies and way of living.
I laughed so hard when he asked if the lady accepted Bitcoin🤣
she'd be crazy not to lol
I was looking for this comment😂
As a vietnamese like me we dont even know what bitcoin was 😂😂

Andrew is Awesome!! I like his sense of humor and commentary. Thank you.
