  • A line I've always wanted to go to, the Cranmore to Shepton Mallet line. The ESR is a 2.9 Mile Line running from Cranmore to Mendip Vale, just outside Shepton Mallet. The line only consists of a few home locomotives such as: Ivatt class 2 Mogul No.46447 and Andrew Barclay Saddle Tank No.1719 "Lady nan"
As we walk around into Cranmore engine sheds, we see the Barclay Tank, visiting from Contract Restoration from the Dartmouth Steam Railway, GWR Large Prairie No.4110, which was recently restored from a Barry Scrapyard Wreck. In the Resoration part of the Sheds, there was another Dartmouth Steam Railway Locomotive, this being none other than GWR 42xx No.4247, who will be going to the Dartmouth Steam Railway for a 20 Year Period after Overhaul. 4247 was sold by the Bodmin and Wenford Railway because it was too heavy to go over one of their Bridges.
    Enjoy!
