people are normalising their toxic lifestyles and recreations in name of mental disorders....when in reality there are millions of people out there who cannot express themselves and are in reality suffering from these disorders and watching this state of mental disorders in pop culture makes it worse for the suffering. ....how insensitive is that!
I'm currently 18 and i can assure that even though this show has been highly exaggerated, the current gen z is slowly but eventually going towards this
All thanks to American media. Don't get me wrong, sexual exploration is important for teens but these shows are just absolutely hyper-exaggerated to the point that it's unrealistic.
I am a 20 year old guy from Delhi who has seen a fair share of somewhat elite school children and based on what you have described ( not seen the show) these things are more comman than you think. Not the guy walking naked in the school.. but the girl going for middle aged man.. drugs and shit. A very small amount of population.. but definitely happening.
Dude I am in 11 class and I completely agree with u that this show is a bit over the top but I have seen some bizarre stuff happening in my school and dont know how should I tell but genz isn't far from reaching what we are afraid of
@@rdxx4073I can give example of few of my classmates. who are into alcohols and some of them had already done those intercourse thing. I dont about whether they are taking drugs or not but that might be possible. But, yes some of them are into alcohols and cigarettes and talking about girls getting relationship with men of double their age is isn't real.
I actually passed out from an elite school (here it’s considered as an elite school toh flex nehi kar raha) and tbh these things are really common but not so exaggerated as it was shown in the show but I could definitely relate yeh sab sach mein hota hai. Substance Abuse, sexual scandals and stuffs, parties were quite common in our school. And I am 19 now 👍🏻
@@johnwilson7598 finally someone spoke that the series is trash... Because all i see is Teenagers shipping their characters and having crush on them lol
Dhruv & Faruq had the purest love story in the entire series thoughout... solely dedicated to themselves...no cheatings... rather than other characters...my favourite couple ❤️🥺🥺✨
@@ShanPrasher A mental disorder that serves only pleasure purposes is not sane. The Gay gene does not exist. In the American institution for psychology, homosexuality is declared a mental disorder. They suppressed the reports after backlash from ultra HD woke gang
ELITE was a good show for first 3 seasons it a bit over the top but still decent but after 3rd season they ruined it with super explicit scenes the show turned into porn basically…in India gen Z is not even close to what they have shown in ELITE
I have been in the type of school this show is portraying, the super rich arriving in their porches, benz's and what not, the blatant use of drugs and the stench of pride and ego spewing across every class and every hallway. I have observed the people around me very closely. I was an introvert but still got into such parties because i had friends who were associated with them. Some aspects of the show felt almost real as if it was taken from my memory. Relationships are a joke, almost everyone cheats, Drugs are like candy, bullying the different, i have seen all of it. But this applies to a small section of students in the school, just like in the show. Not everyone is like that infact most of the students are pretty normal. I admit everyone was privileged, so was I but i guess people knew better not to get themselves associated with such people. Anyway good show, you should watch it. You don't need to relate to it to love it, you just need to be entertained.
as a gen z myself i can certainly tell that this kind of stuff goes on irl too but not to this extent. the show exaggerates this. Being from an “elite school” lemme tell you the characters shown in this series i can find exact parallels to them among my peers and frighteningly all of this very normal among my peers i have seen and heard crazy things.
Well I was in an Elite school & did my high school in 2008-2010 & most of the things were very common even back then, girls getting pregnant, having affair with older men upto 30 years, alcohol, drugs etc. Infact in one of our fellow elite school a girl got pregnant and instead got her vice principal removed for questioning her !!! offcourse back then hard drugs were less available so now it is more common. And earlier v few people got involved in it, but now a days I see my cousins who are genz they feel obligated to participate in it otherwise they will be shamed as loosers. Also shows like gossip girl came in that era which depicted the same thing. Yea but this show is more based on explicit shock value and more exaggerated & vulgar. More like Ullu App & Alt Balaji kind of show 😂
the only issue is the exaggeration and over the top portrayal of elite lifestyle issue relatable hai ya nahi vo nahi hai but they do rely on shock value and this one thing I hate about our writers jaha 30 dikhana hota hai vaha 80 dikhate hai or yeh cheez globally hai har teen drama mein characters are hell annoying it's okay you can portray them that way but dusra shade bhi dikhao bhai that's why I only enjoy British Teen dramas like Sex Education or Skins over Euphoria or Elite
Class is based on south delhi kids and tbh I have met some of the kids from south delhi online and when I talked to them it seemed like things shown in class are somehwere common among those kids not exactly but somewhere There are some exaggerations in the series but still it is quite realistic Just take an example of star kids like aryan khan who got arrested for drug abuse, so if you will think from this perspective you will find out that this series is pretty realistic
@@raja-jl9os maine kaha hai jinhe asli nahi lgra vo star kids ka example le skte just example but esa ya phir iske close hoti hai cheezein real life mein
As someone who went to pricey private school in Delhi almost a decade ago I can say that sex , drugs and alcohol ruled the school scene. I had my first drink given to me at 14. So I don't even want to imagine how much worse it is now especially with social media.
@@ascha730 So considering that, what's your opinion about just letting kids learn through edtech sources? Even UA-cam has so many NCERT channels. Maybe social skills could actually be an academic subject to cover up for the loss from not actually going to a school. I think that bullying and peer pressure about how one looks or talks or what shows they watch etc definitely ruin children and their natural growth. Like cat calling, obsession to get a GF, the need to show off that you have sex etc are results of school ecosystem I think. Being good at studies is somehow shamed by peers. Peers teach us to keep each other's crimes secret and then we grow up and complain about corruption and bad politicians. I don't hate schools but looking back I definitely can see how the ecosystem prevented unique students from reaching their potential. I actually had one that un-alived himself.
Well, yes it was too far fetched, and it did romanticise living in slums to a certain extent (the dark lit rooms, the drunken dad and what not). However, one of things that I liked about the show was its portrayal of homosexuality and the actors did a great job of displaying a romance that actually made me emotionally attached to them. And, both Balli and Faruq were so hot!!!

Dear Shan, I do not know what is the age cited in this series, but under POCSO Act, a Minor's consent is no consent. By the way, I remained extremely shocked throughout this video. I had no clue that such type of content is being made available on Netflix India.
The characters in the show are not minors, they're 18. So, the show is not breaking any law. Now, the show being stupid, lame, inaccurate and bad, is another topic.
It's not uncommon nowadays, neither was not rare in high elite schools in 2000s. Remember the DPS (Delhi) schoolgirl scam??? These things happened then also, however all this was not so much open like today. Nowadays, easy access to porn and loads of money has made things easier. I studied in KV throughout, and it had kids from all classes. Things like this were not common then, but they existed in small quantities. I remember when I was in 9th standard (year 1999), one of my classmate was proposed by a 12th standard guy and one day, they were caught smooching..... So much hype got created, her parents were called to school and she was grounded by everyone. The students of other sections used to taunt her so much that the girl actually got in depression, she used to cry throughout the day, and eventually her parents changed her school. 😓
@@raja-jl9os Your comment just proved who os the bigger Bewakoof, it's not about the real age of actors it's about how the things they are showing are totally ridiculous and far from the real world. Get some brains brother.
Totally agree with Shaan! So glad we look at this show with open eyes. Why does being rich and eliteism have to be linked with having non stop sex and being shameless

Hi Shan, so wanted to let you know that even I am not gen z and I can understand how this show seems incomprehensible but believe me Gen Z is nothing like us and they actually are into all these stuff. Definitely exaggeration is there but we cannot deny that these problems of under age things don't exist and I'm saying this after surveying these Uber rich genz high school kids.
Point that Shan is trying to make is let the rich GenZ do that but setting an idealistic world for other classes of GenZ would be wrong. Middle class always looks upon the rich and try to imitate. These wrong ideal traits would misguide young individuals. Young impressionate Minds cannot distinguish between what's real and what's fiction. As an 18 year old I had plans to settle down fast by 24 with atleast 10 crores of networth. As I reached 25 and was unhappy about life even with high efforts, I realised that money isn't everything. Being rich and earning good are not related. I got the impression from watching Roadies and other bullshit which assumed rich are always on a party mode. In fact all my rich friends do party only on certain few occasions and are always on a hardworking mode. They don't even get time to enjoy a proper meal, always on a rush. Reality is way different than what they show for entertainment.
I have seen my rich friends' fortunes dwindling in a very short period and also seen earning in a similar period. Friendship has no boundaries and they are as well like us, humans with feelings. Same goes for all my other friends who came to middle class after hardwork. Only problem that my rich friends tell is, in order to be rich, you need a lot of contacts and predisposed money. One needs to spend a lot of money to earn a lot of money. What is considered ultra rich in India is just rich in a developed country. All it matters is right opportunity at right time.
This is so valid to say that Genz or the kids who are 18 now would watch it and try to imitate it in real life. I hope everyone take this Class series as Fiction.I personally liked the background songs and cinematography but yes all the actors did there best in acting.

Shan, I typically don't comment, specifically if it's not a compliment. But I have to say here that most teenagers below 18 know about consent. However, your argument about whether we can call a pedop%%%% so knowing that the girl was aware doesn't stand ground because anyone below 18 can't give "consent" to someone older. Even if they do, the older person is supposed to have better judgement and not act on this consent. A "consent" from a minor is not considered a consent. In that case, pedos will be able to get consent from kids. The law is clear. I hope you understand what I mean.
I am a gen z.... believe me there is no such thing happening at our schools ...I come from DPS not very elite but just for telling..most of my fellow classmates are just studying and studying for competitive exams....this insta and Netflix are showcasing a very very small portion of what actually happens..not denying everything...but most of us are very busy with our studies...isse phle ka pta nhi but isko dekhne ke baad zaroor bache kahenge ki yrrr ye toh bada cool h ..mereko bhi Krna... I think Netflix only adapted the concept but forgot to adapt the cultural differences between India and the OG show country. Also pretty much everything happens in school nowadays(including minor sex) but yeah walking naked in school doesn't make any sense. As always amazing and sensible review Shan bhai.
I studied in these so called elite schools in Delhi. Even tho the show has exaggerated it quite a bit but the truth isn't much far away. I had my first drink in school in class 9 back in 2013 or 14 and one of the kids regularly stole vodka from his father's bar and brought it to school. Sex and drug were quite prevalent. So there is a small section of society which can relate to these shows

I think it is rooted in reality but way exaggerated. I did go to DPS and had friends all different branches of DPS so got to know what's happening in different schools. There was a MMS scandal, there was a pregnant girl attending school, a girl was raped and brutally murdered by school kids, there was a lesbian couple caught outside of school doing something unholy, principal's daughter did come out of boys toilet with a boy, one of my school senior ran away with a boy got pregnant and returned home for delivery, one of my class mate dating an older guy and his place would be HANGOUT place for couples, couples kissing in garden and someone outing them in school, school kids robing a gift store and using its merchandise to flaunt being rich.. it all happened in different branches of 1 school.... all this happened 20 years back.... ab scene kitna aage badh gaya pata nahi... it was a scary time and our parents were aware they did keep us kids close by spending time together at home... most of us were studying hard and did make it to top colleges but a lot of classmates were upto no good....and yes there was a popular belief that kids upto no good came from comparitively not so very well off homes or were newcomer from different school with a preconceived notion of DPS.... and comparitively well off kids who have always been in dps are more well behaved focused on preparing for competitive exams... unlike the show
So, I am 26 and my school was an average middle class one. One of the girls in class 12th was going through her parents' divorce and got sexually involved with a 14 years older guy who she even called bhaiya. Another girl in class 10th got an abortion because her gym teacher got her pregnant and the sex was mutual (still a rape considering the teacher was the adult here). Girls were having sex on the roof top of our school, made out with 3 guys and no teacher could call their parents because it could spoil their school's image. I haven't seen this show, neither do I plan to watch. These things happen in teenage but not so openly. If anything of this level was even minutely allowed in any society (rich or poor), India TV and arnab goswami would have been richer.
The show has exagerrated few things but i myself have passed out from an elite school where alot of things shown in the show used to happen. Drugs . Sex in school premise. . Teen girls falling for older men etc. But yeah roaming around naked is exaggeration but not all.. i am myself 22 and i belong from gen Z and most of the gen z ers are like this mostly the middle class or elite ones
As a millennial it scares me how vulgar things will turn by the time I get married and have kids. Dude , I'm gonna be one of those annoying moms who will keep an eye on what my kid watches.

The problem with the show is that it has just been blindly copied. The spanish version represents a foreign concept so it is still taken as a story. Indian adaptation should have been made relevant to issues here in India. It could have been a great series of class differences and teenagers getting lost in between. But, I guess writers had something else in mind. Watching elite is basically a choice that people make. Class is just a way to hype teenagers into watching the show (somewhere subconsciously forcing them)
Logo ko kapdo se dikkat ho rhi h agar is series m ladkiyo ko salvar aur jens m dikhate to kisi ko dikkat nhi hota kabir singh m bhi priti salvar suit pahanti h 😂
this is probably the dumbest take ive seen... The whole concept of class or elite , works so much better in india where it is highly prevalent. Class is already arguably better than elite. What "foreign concept " are u talking about?
@@i9oii3iii8sak that's the word, it's an exaggeration. You are right! 👍👍 Sometimes, it makes me wonder if these people are going to become sexual offenders in the years to come.
I haven't watched the show but by whatever you have told, all this happens in Modern school, barakhanbha. My brother has studied there and he has told me. And hard drugs, yeah. And too rich kids study there.
These things are really happening in school now bro trust me i was also shocked after I got to know it from my friend in college who came from an elite school i am from a not so Elite school but girl getting pregnant type scenes happened in my class also so we have to broaden our horizon and i know it is a cultural shock but india is also changing for good or for bad that i don't know
Modern BK is my Alma mater, my folks are professionals but the uber rich kids lived on another planet. There was plenty of clubbing, drunk driving, sleeping all night in the car and yes, in some instances, drug use. I saw only cannabis and coke though. Class of 2013. The school is very cliquish and people would play musical chairs dating girls/guys from their insular cliques.
I'm a genz female and let me tell you 80%+ of us ARE progressing to this westernized glamorized "culture". And it's painful, really painful to watch. Because we're moving far away from what actually matters to finding temporary satisfactions and a sense of "heroism" that follows, feeling like "we're adults". No you're not and there's a time for everything. There's a haste in trying out everything nowadays early, and the long term mental effect that actually happens for these decisions are traumatizing. Fun fact is normalizing this behavior is killing kids with good potential and there's nothing much even parents can do about. However those who are meant to shine and focus will find their ways anyways, maybe. And thank you so much for speaking about the impeding issue!
As a fellow Genz i should inform you, this is just nature's natural selection process. The nature is just throwing traps on them(especially Rich) in form of drugs, sensual pleasures..etc overall diverting them from hardwork, purity, knowledge,etc... You must have listened: The Hard Time created Rich/successful people These Successful people create easy time for their children And most of these children are creating bad time for them. So that ,the current children of Bad time can rise and cycle goes on.... The only thing we can do is keep of morals tight and practice hard work with spirituality.
These things happen irl. Now in the tv show it will be exaggerated to an extent obviously but to completely dismiss it is not fair. I saw the show and enjoyed it, the acting performances are top notch and it keeps you hooked till the last episode.
brother … seeing today’s fast growing generation..i can confirm this type of things happens in every top school … drugs & sex are quite normalise nowadays… & kids of 17 - 18 years getting fast exposure to these things make them insecure & then going easily into depression
Hello Shan bhaia, First of all take love from Bangladesh. I watch all of your videos and absolutely love them. Started watching your videos from Menxp but when you parted, Menxp lost its charm. THANK GOD you started your own channel because I absolutely enjoy your reviews! (Sometimes more than the content your reviewing :3)❤️❤️ Now having seen Elite, I can say that Class is actually a scene to scene recreation of the original. I loved Elite. Because it felt natural given their culture and context. But I don't think Class fits anywhere near to our culture or the Indian Subcontinent context. My take on this is there's no harm in adapting stories but they should reflect the region they are representing.
This may not happen in majority of schools. But it's definitely possible in some of the most expensive schools. Especially with kids who know they don't really have to work hard academically.
Surely that's only possible if there are, like, no teachers around, or if the teachers were also raised in such an abusive environment as kids themselves?.. is that real, too?...
@@BollywoodBonanzaB Bro i have friends who exactly reflect what's shown in this show. This show captures their attitude perfectly. Maybe that dude who gets out of the locker room naked is a bit exaggerated.

Two corrections: 1. The older guy Mayank didn't get his punishment for being a pedophile. He got it because he leaked the sex videos of a minor. 2. Balli story - The girl didn't want a threesome. Her boyfriend did. If you want to discuss plotholes - why did Neeraj give the all important phone to Suhani? He could've hidden it anywhere. He knew she's being watched by her brother. Secondly, why the hell will he not just give the phone to Kalra then and there. Going with his men, in their car - they could've anyway just finished him off and no one would know any better. The whole thing was so stupid.

I guess "elite" schools in Chennai aren't that bad after reading the comments. At least from my time. People took relationships seriously. In fact, someone being in a relationship was seen as gossip news. Yeah i have heard a few students having sex, a few having tried alcohol. I graduated from a so called elite school 5 years ago. The definition of elite schools depended upon the board exam results and also the amenities (plus higher fee). The rich flamboyant ones were a few non-Chennai kids who came from Bombay and Delhi. They pretended to be super rich whilst there were local kids, 10 times richer and didn't show an ounce of their wealth. But house parties were never a thing. Just group hangouts and bday parties with close friends. But now after hearing stories from my younger brother, vaping and drugs have creeped into a small section of the kids. But other kids are smart enough to stay out of this nonsense. The last tire elite schools are probably the ones where celeb kids studied. Which was one or 2.

sorry dude to let you know, this is very common in our community. I'm myself in an elite school (vvs) and this is extremely common in our school not just our school all the namey schools in Delhi are actually like this infact if you are studying in these schools and not clubbing & drinking and wearing explicit clothes or having s*x then you are bullied heavily. Your class is decided from these, your family is uber rich and even the guys from my class come from filthy rich bgs and are clubbing every night, are the heads of pr companies and hosting party nights, making out openly so it's not like it's unreal, it's very real if you go deep in this community. There's a circle of all the namey school children and if you're in any of them then it really common you can ask anyone of them. Sad but this is reality.

After seeing completely sexual and materialistic relationship based on bluffs in my city, I was almost convinced that I wanna go back to the normal innocent high school but to be honest even highschool is not same anymore or not even close to what we used to experience the slow attraction through a long period of school life.
Bhaiya India me teens are highly getting influenced from netflix They feel ashamed if they don’t drink alcohol or if they are not in any relationship or not done anything explicit in their life This is the reality of teens now a days
I agree that the premise of the show is far fetched. But some of your views are shocking. To answer your question, no, MINORS CANNOT CONSENT. If this happens, there is a power play between the minor and the adult. And the adult needs to be severely punished. Second, children who come from broken homes with no love try to self soothe, through drugs and sex. It’s wrong and detrimental. But you need to understand that severe trauma, neglect and abuse by family (her father, mother, brother ganging up on her) the child might engage in risky behaviours. Please don’t make light of this. These children often grow up into adults who get into very dangerous situations, night even perish as you saw in the series (sorry for the spoiler). Or if they were lucky enough, they may have sought help, cut off the toxic family, reclaim their values and life. While from an outsiders perspective, their behaviour could seem destructive and warrant ridicule, just please be compassionate, because some of them are coming from extreme abuse and they didn’t have normalcy to know what normalcy looks like. Quite often, such parents model that behaviour themselves, infidelity, drug alcohol abuse etc. please guys, some compassion. Anyway, I don’t think there is anything anyone should take away from this show. And for those who come from broken families, may strength be with you. God bless.
I agree with you completely. The way Shan has talked about Suhani and the paedophile is really offensive, triggering and ignorant in my opinion. He's making excuses for the man who is shown raping a minor, because that's what it is. Sex with a minor is rape. He needs to educate himself. I was shocked too.

Class is just a way to hype teenagers into watching the show (somewhere subconsciously forcing them)
Logo ko kapdo se dikkat ho rhi h agar is series m ladkiyo ko salvar aur jens m dikhate to kisi ko dikkat nhi hota
kabir singh m bhi priti salvar suit pahanti h 😂
this is probably the dumbest take ive seen... The whole concept of class or elite , works so much better in india where it is highly prevalent. Class is already arguably better than elite. What "foreign concept " are u talking about?
Not to this extent, but a lot of things are happening in the schools these days. It's not as shocking for me.
So you mean school kids are engaging in cuckolding?
I meant not to this extent... But there's definitely a lot of vulgarity happening in schools.
@@palakdelouri5263 vulgarity has always been their but to this extent is completely exaggeration.
@@i9oii3iii8sak that's the word, it's an exaggeration. You are right! 👍👍 Sometimes, it makes me wonder if these people are going to become sexual offenders in the years to come.
@@palakdelouri5263 I'm not saying its right but maybe there was a reason that our old generation considered sex as a taboo.
Shan, just so you know, children cannot consent. Whether they want something or not does not matter legally. That consent is not acceptable.
Absolutely agree! And adults blaming the teenagers really just need to self analyse at this point
I haven't watched the show but by whatever you have told, all this happens in Modern school, barakhanbha. My brother has studied there and he has told me. And hard drugs, yeah. And too rich kids study there.
Even in Dehradun boarding schools
@ShanPrasher811 omg yayyyy! I'm a huge fan. Delighted to have received a reply ☺️
Thanks. Now I am definitely going to watch it.!
You must have listened:
The Hard Time created Rich/successful people
These Successful people create easy time for their children
And most of these children are creating bad time for them. So that ,the current children of Bad time can rise and cycle goes on....
The only thing we can do is keep of morals tight and practice hard work with spirituality.
True
Bhai main Gen Z hoon but I can assure you jitne extreme cases inhone is show mein dikhayein hain, vo nahi hote hain schools mein

Hello Shan bhaia,
First of all take love from Bangladesh. I watch all of your videos and absolutely love them. Started watching your videos from Menxp but when you parted, Menxp lost its charm. THANK GOD you started your own channel because I absolutely enjoy your reviews! (Sometimes more than the content your reviewing :3)❤️❤️
Now having seen Elite, I can say that Class is actually a scene to scene recreation of the original. I loved Elite. Because it felt natural given their culture and context. But I don't think Class fits anywhere near to our culture or the Indian Subcontinent context. My take on this is there's no harm in adapting stories but they should reflect the region they are representing.
It does happen in elite school
It's sad reality of elite schools even in Bangladesh schools like scholastica , Green herland etc.
@@BollywoodBonanzaB bro if you have been to a school till 12th standard you know teachers ke peeche kya kuch ho sakta hai. And these are kids of the elite, you think school teachers would want to cross them?
Two corrections:
The whole thing was so stupid.
. he says kis usko uske karmo ki saja baad me mil gyi to uska matlab ye hi tha ki vedios leak kar di pedophile to usne situation ke liya bataya tha
Clarification kya deri hai te?
The older guy Mayank got killed by Veer and his buddies not only for having sexual intercourse with his sister Suhani, but leaking that video as well.
Without murder weapon ke sirf dheeru ki gawaahi se ye saabit nahi hota ki neeru ne maara hai .. and that sharan wo achanak psycho kaise ho gya tha ghar se to normal nikla tha ?? But if in future Netflix got banned in India there will be a huge responsibility for this kind of show. Nice reaction by you keep it up.
Bekaar me hi ..isko remake kiya .. maine original elite dekhi hai..wo waha ke culture ke hisaab se bani hai aur wo unko suit karti hai ..aur shaandaar series bhi hai kam se kam 3 seasons tak to definitely. You raised the right question. It's like insolence and these type of content consumption has become a part of our evolution.
I'm 17 and this is not the case in my school. But I think I'm just too poor for that.

Absolutely agreed
