he's on another damn level on this record, man. I knew he was trying some new stuff on the song War of Being, but didn't know he was going all out on the whole damn album
I am in awe of this song, as well as this show! I drove 3 hours all by myself to finally see them after following their career since 2011! It was SOOO worth it!! Bought a regular ticket, then upgraded to VIP when I got there, cause I just couldn't help myself! 😆Went to the Museum of Science and Industry beforehand, saw the Pompeii exhibit and everything else they had to offer. What an extraordinary day!!
My daughter of five loves this song. Brilliant band. Saw them live in Gävle, Sweden, back in 2019. Together with Jinjer, Freak Kitchen and Animals as Leaders. Excellent show. Daniel Tompkins does tea as well.
I am a bit concerned he is using to much backing vocals perhaps here? I have the impression the backing vocals are doing quite some heavy lifting? Might be the live recording tho
what a dead crowd, if u look for the last argentina concert, the band itself was very shocked of saw the incredible passion that we have for the music. We just apreciate that they come to our country. Sry for my bad english
This is my video of Legion by soundboard at the same Chicago show. Crowd is not dead as there was a huge pit for the heavier songs. ua-cam.com/video/7B7WaW138aU/v-deo.html
Honestly yeah you're right. I saw them in Melbourne in 2018 and the entire standing section was a swarm, particularly for Concealing Fate Part II and King. They really got into it. Can't wait to see them again next May and bring the heat they deserve!
The issue with most of the US is that still these guys tend to have to get smaller venues. Eg went to Boston last night and there were so many people that there just wasn’t room for any sort of pit to open. One finally opened a bit for concealed fate and still you were jammed in between like 5 others. Also this was taken literally right against the fence, so all the mosh is behind this guy
I believe Dan acknowledged the impossibility of imitating that section in an interview with that guy named Chris Liepe, due to how little to no time is available to make proper breaths
One the best songs they’ve written
This is like Origin or Proxy pt 2
Loved those tunes and this one is right next to them

Considering this was recorded on a phone and his voice still sounds almost flawless, his vocal prowess is something phenomenal
my god men, this guy is growing up beyond his own vocals

An absolute legend!
CHEERS!!! 😁@@afadingstorm
Nice I upgraded to VIP table in Seattle went to the pit a few times one incredible night!
Thanks for uploading this. It's particularly fascinating to hear how Dan tackles such a difficult song to sing.
Fun fact, when he recorded this for the album it was all in one take! He wanted to keep the rawness of it in there. So awesome!
@@tysonreesmusicwhere did you see this?
@@tysonreesmusic definitely not
@@SammyMakepeace yeah very often he has like multiple versions of himself singing at the same time. Would be impossible for one take.
The way he can seamlessly transition his vocals from high notes to scream is truly incredible 🔥

Parenting done right, I must say! 😁
You forgot the headliner: Dream theater!, i was there too, small world hehe..
Yes I know, but I left after three songs. Not a good show unfortunately. Sorry!@@flyingmanforfun
One hell of a lineup there - totally jealous!
Goosebumps every time i hear this song.. give me literal chills
This groove is filthy good and the vocals stellar. Can this be happening!
It truly is amazing how Dan keeps getting better!
Dan is a fricken MONSTER!
God I love this song so much.
It continues to blow my mind
Going to the LA show in about a week. Really looking forward to it - and Intervals opening!
He made it❤
Goosebumps!
Wow, you were really up close! I was by the sound board so I could hear everything.
House of blues always sounds phenomenal and perfectly balanced!
Astounding
Yes😊
1:03 dat high note doe
That gutteral scream at 2:30 made me laugh. I thought MeatCanyon was right behind you.
3:30 🥵
Best vocal performance of 2024 goes to Dan Tompkins.

idk what kind of crowd action you're expecting to see in the security pit. this video is from the very front
@@erakattack Welcome to UA-cam where the comments don’t make sense and complaints from people who barely go to concerts
that falsetto is disgusting
Ouch. Exponential studio magic confirmed. 🤦🤦🤦
This is about as good as I could imagine this song being performed live. What are you talking about?
He killed it! Wru even saying?
No way he'd be performing that song chest rasp belting that entire section the whole tour now c'mon lol. It was a great performance.
Of course. It's a concept album that evokes emotions. Why do you downplay studio magic like it's a bad thing? The performance was great either way.
