Thank you all so much for the love and support. We are all so grateful - Dan
Some beautiful vocal gymnastics in this one!
Cant wait to see you in chicago
Dan, what an amazing voice 🤍
Fucking mind blowing. Thank you.
Im just wishing u guys come again to argentina with this new content! This is amazing!
TesseracT are so committed to the mix they actually sent Dan into the vacuum of space for the acoustics. Bravo, gents. 👏
Whoelse but Acle to mix this beautiful album
Bravo, djents. 👏
As above, djents is the correct pronunciation
False. Technically, acoustics are not possible in a vacuum.
@@bradleycallahan2855 Making it that much better for isolating sound. 😎
OK, just to be sure: is everybody bursting into tears at 3:37 or is it just me?
I am!
Volume? Max. This song? On repeat. Jaw? on the floor.
Hotel? Trivago.
After many (many) listens of this record, im going to call it that it's my favorite of all Tess releases. I've been a fan since CF EP days, heard all the demos, followed Acle since Fellsilent, yada yada yada... I've never even heard a song that has captured me like this has, and every Tess song has something for me in it. Just an absolute masterpiece on all levels. This band has continuously raised the bar that much higher and there's no question this is Dan Tompkins best performance and arguably the highlight of his vocal career. Magnificent, extraordinary, captivating. 10/10. 😊
Dan should win Grammy 100% for best vocal performance.
Thank you all for the support and positivity around these new tracks. I hope to see some of your wonderful faces at the upcoming shows ❤ - Jay
See you in St Louis, I'm pumped
LOve you dude !
See you in München!
See you in Portland!
see you in Poland!
3:51 - "I have lost the battle on both sides"
Chills, just. Chills. Killed it Dan.
I'm actually completely speechless at Dan's performance in this. Absolutely just next level.
Not only this is an incredibly good song, but it also is THE MOST EXPRESSIVE Dan's song! Period! Completely blown away by these hard-to-even-explain-what's-going-on vocals!
I dunno, his skyharbor stuff is pretty damn good. This is really good also, he layered vocals like crazy
The first song he did with Earthside shows his capabilities as well. He’s a phenom
I know what to expect next from you )
@@portal432 skyharbor was amazing, agree. But it feels he got a bit more creative now? Or maybe his technique evolved a bit more, so he can try out new things. Dunno, that's just how it feels
@@kseliannur3454 you can't imagine how much i how for the instrumental for this song! ;)
Officially nominating 3:27 as the vocal highlight of the decade in metal. I haven't got goosebumps like that in a LOOOONG TIME. What artistry, Dan!
I don't know why he can scream and sound like michael jackson and make it work. Jokes aside, I think Dan has the best vocals in the prog scene, and as someone who got into tesseract on their music that has softer vocals, this feels like the right blend of harmony and grit
I whole heartedly agree with this!
That scream and falsetto is so satisfying af
This is Spencer from Periphery level!! 🤟
@@AttilatheThrilla Spencer is unreal! Stylistically, I gravitate more towards Dan's voice. Both are stalwarts in their own right and absolute killer vocalists!
Dan has transcended to a new level. Holy carp
2:45
🎶In... my... dreams... I-I-I-I-I-I-I... was... innocent 🎶
That long I gets me every single time.
same here man😅
Beni dee
Whoever is mixing these new songs is god-tier; the levels of depth in the audio when you're listening on headphone's is incredible. Dan will obviously be the focal point for this track because it's absolutely insane what he's pulling off, but credit to everyone in the band for writing an absolute ear-worm of a track on every level. Beautiful job, djents.
👋☺❤
@@AcleKahney 😘🤌 this is perfect
As always, the ONE and ONLY @AcleKahney 👑🙇♂
@@AcleKahney I should have known, haha. Incredible job! All of the new tracks so far have had absolutely incredible mixes.
God like mixing indeed
Most diverse vocal range in the history of any song ever.
Daniel is a BEAST! This is pure emotion. One of the songs of the year for sure. Amazing!
3:25 changed my life forever.
THROWN INTO THE GREYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Absolutely love that scream and the following riffs. TesseracT rules!
They just keep getting better. It's actually personally inspiring.
this is incredible Dan, your best vocal performance ever
Who hurt dan? Dude woke up and decided he gonna put every vocalist in the game to shame. All the respect in the world to you guys for this beautiful song.
I've only become aware that TesseracT is a thing but it was immediately obvious that their front man is really frik'n good.
He’s good…but he’s still gotta get through ronnie for best vocalist that’s just my opinion they’re pretty damn close tho switching between screams and clean vocals changing up the tempo the riffs etc it would be a tough choice
You should check out Leprous's Einar Sjolbergs @@McLoven-vm1ck
@@darkangel-ve8pn Ronnie who?
@@DrTacoPHD665RONNIE JAMES DIO BABYYYY
This might be the best vocal performance I have ever heard.
For my money, it's Nighttime Disguise by Leprous, but this is god-tier for sure.
Yeah Leprous or rishloo takes the cake.
Man, Rishloo is always a great choice. River of Glass is my pick to show off the vocal performance. Honestly, that whole album could be my pick. Feathergun is a damn masterpiece.
@@Grease-Goblin very good friends of mine yeah rishloo, leprous, karnivool, tool .fair to midland and tesseract are my favorite lyrical bands
@@Grease-Goblin i say dark charade is andrews best performance(rishloo)
Honestly wasn’t feeling the first two singles like most of their discography, this one sold me. Can’t wait for Friday.
Mesa tonight! I know it’s later in the tour I hope Dan can still bring it on Legion. Best Tesseract song to date!
One of the best vocalists I’ve heard in a long time. Fuck me dead.
“I’ve been dreaming
Anxious to the core
I don’t want to feel this way
Same as yesterday”
Every time I hear that line I get chills. Hits me so hard.
I love how at 2:25 he is close to Earth's orbit getting ready to enter the atmosphere (helmet reflection)
The control this man has over his voice is fucking insane
The mixing on this track is phenomenal .. Everything is soo crystal clear and well balanced that you can differentiate each elements.. The drums, bass guitar and the ambient pads.. Vocals is the highlight, they have kept Dan's voice forward in the mix and this has to be his magnum opus for now
pieces like this make me completely agree with what CEO of patreon Jack Conte said:
"thanks to internet, we are just about to experience the second musical renaissance." (or sum like that)
The part where he screams "Lost the battle on both sides"... He sounds so pissed off but it's incredible. One of my favorite Dan screams.
The people who like to say that Dan can't hit high notes or scream like he used to 10 years ago have their jaws on the floor right now (if anything, he's improved). Also, I just have a feeling this album is going to be their magnum opus, swear to God. THIS IS HUGEEE I love every aspect of this song, I wanna see a guitar and drum playthrough!!
Sorry but I have never heard somebody say or write this
10 years is still a short time for a singer to lose his range, give it a 10-15 more and they'll start downtuning their stuff. But once they decide to resort to that, I know Dan will still sound awesome because he's never only about range. It's all about expression and control.
Dan's vocals and overall production have been insane on the latest releases, however, in terms of pure songwriting nothing has "topped" Altered State/Polaris for my money thus far. I'm still waiting for Natural Disaster though, it slaps in the live clips I've heard.
They've set a tall bar for themselves so it's understandable.
Going to see them live again in February and I can't wait!
Is this a thing TesseracT fans have been saying? I've not heard this personally but some people just like to complain. Don't give them any attention 😅
@@Aenigmakil yeah I've seen it in some videos of them live, as well as like people who say he was better in Skyharbor, etc. I can't name just one place I've seen it bc I'm just everywhere when it comes to TesseracT content lol I am a huge fan of this band. People are so quick to judge when they don't actually sing or perform.
If i were Tesseract i'd be stressing about how exactly the sheer quality of thus album can be suppassed
Ah yes, that sweet sweet sound of Tesseract. I took a homeless guy to this show after he woke up on a park bench. We both enjoyed the show very much. If you get a chance to see them play live DO NOT pass it up. It's pretty spiritual.
Daniel casually killing everything with these mad vocals. Damn, that was epic.
I have no idea why… as I am usually a pretty stoic and unemotional guy, but this song almost always has me crying by the end. Can’t tell if it’s the theme, melodic groove, vocal performance, or all of the above.
TesseracT > Sleep Token
Easily
you have an insane vocal range, i've literally never heard anyone transition from screams, to super highs, to normals, all back and forth with what seems to be very little effort, insane vocals holy moly
This album is Dan Tompkins: Endgame.
The culmination of One, Polaris, Sonder, Portals, Ruins, Castles, Earthside, Skyharbour, Piano, Zeta, WMBB, Haji's Kitchen and Absent Hearts.
Masterful.
well described
I can't remember the last time I was this excited about an album
Early reviews are already calling this their magnum opus. I've never been this pumped for a new album, ever.
Going off War of Being and The Grey, I'm not surprised. Both tracks are just SO FUCKING GOOD
@@shanemaxwell1784 PLUS THIS TRACK BC WTF (came to the comments to also say this is their magnum opus)
I had the pleasure of experiencing this live in Tampa, Dan and the entire band gave it their all!
this song actually has the most perfectly melody for me, and this groove make soooooo imerssive! god damn it! SO ROX
Wow I randomly clicked on a youtube recommendation and am SO IMPRESSED. Buying concert tickets because this was incredible. Had goosebumps the entire time.
i love that for you. welcome
congratulations man, listen to literally any of their albums and you will fall in love with them
Man I wish I could go back to first discovering Tesseract haha what a wild ride!
San Diego! Can't wait!
I’ve seen them live a few times. You won’t regret it.
Wow i haven't listened since Of Mind - Nocturne.
i'm speechless
Freaking out inside the suite. Awesome!!!!! I was screaming with him.
This is the greatest TesseracT song of all time.
Lyrics:
Fill my eyes with blur
Stare into the sun
Linger just enough
To blindness I succumb
A monastery of hate swells deep and forever
Spectres rise and descend into the river
A memory dwells
A monastery of hate swells deep and forever
Forever, forever, forever, forever
I can be guilty free
Don't you see?
In a world designed for you and me
Holding on to echelons
Messianic deformations
Control nations
We're all holding on
I can be guilty free
Don't you see?
In a world designed for you and me
Holding on to echelons
Messianic deformations
Controlled patience
I bind you
Now you believe in nothing
I bind you
Now you believe in nothing
In my dreams I was innocent
My skin unbroken, eyes open
On a distant sphere
Before these walls surrounded me
Made me disappear
Thrown into the grey
In the ruins I remain
Lead me home
From the only world I've ever known
And branded heathen
I have lost the battle on both sides
Lead me home into the sun
I've been dreaming
Anxious to the core
I don't want to feel this way
Same as yesterday
Please lead me home
Great song!
You’re the real MVP
Thank you. I couldn't understand shit in the audio. o7
I was precisely getting back to this video hoping they would have put the lyrics under it - the problem with dematerialized music, I've bought the album but the lyrics aren't included with the song files... Thank you so much for puttin them here, you're the best!
Love hhow the lyrics reference Beneath my Skin/Mirror Image from Sonder on the last part:
"I've been dreaming
Love is not a dangerous thing
Anxious to the core of being"
Beautiful lyrics that enhance an already brilliant song
This is the best vocal performance in Metal ever.
Imagine not knowing who Mike Patton is.
You need to listen to some progressive metal and reconsider this statement
Imagine not knowing Glen Hughes, Ronnie Dio and Jeff Scott Soto.
Gotta be able to do it live though
@@SammyMakepeacethat’s reserved for opera.
I almost can't believe what I'm hearing... This is incredible
You are an absolute legend. What insane vocal control. I'd go into space with ya.
there's something so compelling to me about space exploration, the vaccuum of space, the search of meaning, and spirituality. Such a beautiful metaphor for the human condition.
Played this video for my five year old daughter as a lullaby the other night.
"Did he crashed the spaceship, daddy?"
"Probably, but he's ok I think!"
I'm usually not a fan of screams & such, but when Dan sounds so desperate it's quite alright.
we know songs based on riff, on solo, on drums, on bass.. but! this is the voice solo song! long time. we missed so much! Daniel - you are perfect singer!
Absolutely groundbreaking soundscape. You guys made history with this track.
I’m so obsessed with this song. Dan’s vocals are god tier, especially the part where he’s switching back and forth between screaming and falsetto. I can’t get enough of it
This vocal is next level, amazing
The Charismatic Voice thank you for introducing me to music TesseracT
I just heard this song today, doing so while washing dishes. I literally cried as soon as the vocals on the bridge section hit. No song has done that to me in years.
Love the intensity when he get mad >:0
Each album has its own sound, but the sound of this album is going to be the vocal transcendence of Dan Tompkins 🤘🏻
Listened to the track now and as soon as I heard “I’ve been dreaming” I felt whole, I really hope this whole album is tied into beneath my skin/mirror image
I love how Tesseract has been referencing their own discography, some people see it as a cheap lyric shortcut but I don't---I think there's creative ways to do it, and for me it's always SO SATISFYING
There is a story to this that we'll explain at some point.
@@twinny_miagreed! Not sure if it’s the same with lyrics but musical callbacks are called motifs and it’s a beautiful way to tie music together. Really does give that warm familiarity and ‘signature’ feel if done correctly that makes you smile.
@@nickslater3598you're totally right lmao I couldn't think of the right word!!
"I can't be further from endless life" is heard twice in their discography.
Tompkins is a phenom.
One or most talented bands of modern rock/metal
I'm ready and I'm already in love with The Martian, Interstellar, 2001 and Alice in Chains' Hollow vibes in the teaser.
Genius. A single 2 days before the album to make sure max number of people realize the release and listen asap on yt/streaming to tell the algo that this is hot cakes (which it ofcourse is)
Muse and Meshuggah just had another baby 😍 Dan's vocal range is just insane!
I literally can't like this enough.
i love TesseracT, but that section at 3:25 has to be my god damn favorite part of any song they’ve made. shit fucking slaps
3:26 - What the f*** is happening? ❤So many emotions flow through me, especially the last part of the song brings up a lot. My best friend and I both got a Tesseract tattoo with the last release "Sonder" in 2018. We shared our entire youth, more than 13 years, so we decided to do this. But so much has happened in the meantime. Covid, moving to another city, starting a family... today we have different attitudes to life. The contact became less and as of today we have had virtually no contact for more than one year. We lived apart. Sometimes it hurts. And it especially hurts when Tesseract makes such a strong song that reminds me of the times before the changes. I still love him and wish him all the best for his future life ❤
This song is a freakin' tears squeezer. Yet so empowering. Love it. Love the music, love the vocals, love the video. I regret I discovered it a month after Tesseract had performed in Poland.
This song is like a handmade luxury watch with all the little gears turning at different speeds but they all work together to make the second hand turn.
HUGE WEEK
3:20 why is this so good
When you're high and you're like, yeah I can totally karaoke this!
This album is a masterpiece.
this might be the ship/pilot that eventually crash lands on the planet in the war of being game
3:20 on is just vocal insanity. I love it. I can’t even focus on the other phenomenal performances. I know Jay, Acle, James, and Amos are all doing something amazing and flawless. But Dan is just going on this insane wild ride of techniques.
One of the few great metal bands from this era lol
This song is driving me crazy! Love it! ♥😩
Tesseract, periphery, vildhjarta e polyphia changed my life, i'm so hyped for this e the album lfg!!
Awesome, new TesseracT.
2:46 - 4:10 - Now that's just… something else, indescribable vocal work. I am left in tears with no exaggeration, all of my most intimate emotions emanated through another human's voice. The power of music, especially metal music.
Two different men but the emotional impact reminded me of Kyo of Dir En Grey.
TesseracT is one of the best bands I have had the pleasure of listening to since 2011/2012. I was also very big on Skyharbor back then.
The falsetto in the first minute made me chuckle. That's also how I be piloting vehicles. But wow, this track made me feel like I was there in an unstable craft, careening into tumultuous, unknown, terrifying wonder. The ship my identity, the turbulence my shaky pull away from the dogma of my youth. Attempting to explore the different and the unusual without judgement.
This is absolutely one of my favorite songs to come out in a long time. This song is so good! It gives me chills!
1:57 underrated.
The ending is absolutely crazy. Tesseract has always set such a high bar for clean vocals but oh my god...
This song and the title track alone are the reason I bought the new album. War Of Being is an absolute class album. Can't wait to see TesseracT live in Manchester
Been listening to metal for over 40 years. Started listing to this track last week. After around 30 to 40 plays I can say that this one of the most compete vocal performances I have ever listened to. The lyrics are incredible, melody very intricate but make it sound so simple. Vocal changes are off the charts. 😳😳😳😳. This is perfection. 🙏🙏🙏🤟🤟🤟🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
There are no hairs left on my body, they all jumped off....
been waiting for this band
Definitely my favourite song on the Album!
With the way music is now this sure is refreshing
I love so much this song
This is my first TesseracT song...and I had chills the entire time. Got tickets for the show in Charleston. Have your entire discography on repeat until the 6th!
Welcome, friend.
@kiingslayer9424 Welcome to the wonderful world of Tesseract!
Welcome to the family homie.
This song transcends genre.
actual gods in making music.
Dan just let loose on this one, damn. Those pitched screams are seriously impressive
Best song off the album. Insane vocals
I swear, I thought Daniel was about to hop out of a bunker at any moment and start busting up some Zerg like a marine in Starcraft.
This track still blows my mind
