The main reason the Jaw Titan was was confused/scared was that this is the first time he has ever seen people charge at his titan, He is so used to people being scared and running away from him
Yep. He's the only one of the current Marleyan Warriors who never actually went to Paradis since he got his titan later than everyone else, and there's no better teacher than firsthand experience.
Also you have to understand from the first two episodes of this season that other civilizations outside of Paradis use distant missiles and cannons to still fight the titans, or they try to get titans on their side to fight other countries titans.
Meanwhile on Paradis they invented close-range titan fighting gear, and that's also why Zeke was so confused by the stuff he saw Miche wearing. Humans charging straight into the titans was foreign to the outside world until Zeke and Reiner returned to Marley with the evidence of humans in the walls using close range swords and ODM gear.
@@bitch8205 now’d I think about it, he has Ymir’s memories so he isnt totally out of the loop. But agreed that firsthand experience makes a big difference, especially when you are the target from the knowledge of what scouts can do to titans.

thats super symbolic too, because what started erens hate towards the enemy(titans)back then was seeing his mother being killed caused by her being crushed under a rock.

Just to touch on the gear that our guys were using: Most of them used the anti-personnel gear that Kenny and his crew used in S3, which was used against people, Levi was the only one who came in with the classic ODM gear used against titans, and Mikasa is the ONLY one that´s using BOTH at the same time

This episode is just pure chills and nothing else. Especially when Galliard gets destroyed by the Scouts and is in disbelieve how they can fight him head on. His face and voice is spot on!
Porco didn't get destroyed by the Scouts, Mikasa threw a thunder spear and it blew up and made him lose his grip on the building. He was scared of all the Scouts swinging around tho.

20:46 one of my favorite things this episode, Galliard’s REALIZATION that not everyone in Paradis runs away from Titans. There are people trained to kill titans and attack head on lol
One of my favorite too. At that point in the story, I didn't care for Porco, because of the way he was talking sh*t to Reiner about how he behaved in Paradis, when he (Porco) had no idea how it was there. Also telling, when Pieck and Porco first catch sight of the Scouts in ODM gear, Porco isn't fazed but Pieck is scared: she knows. So yeah, Porco about to experience it first hand? Very satisfying!

Boy was still about to see what’s coming, well half of it since not even Pieck has first hand experience with the new gear that the scouts have
yep, since where they lived the titans are like these strong as machines that can't be defeated and no human tried to directly kill them with their own hands. little did marleyans know what they began when sending titans to the walls.

I do love the idea that if seasons 1 to 3 never existed and the show started here, Eren would look like a clear villain to the viewers especially at 9:31 is probably the most evil looking his titan has been in the entire show.
Exactly. It is very important to have all in the information (as much objective info as possible) from both sides of the conflict. Example in a real world: controversial Russia-Ukraine conflict with massive propaganda and lacking of evidence from media. And the AOT clearly shows how many innocent people are being killed during these conflicts, that's a tragedy whatever side you picked.
p.s. AOT is a brilliant TV show/manga! Also the show gives a good reason to read literature on critical thinking. To build a better world we should be more reasonable, very skeptical of the media (don't just believe, use logic, do fact checking), remember that everyone's life matters (even for murderers we have a prison). this is why season 1-3 are SO important. it introduces us to the victims on A DEEP level. also seeing their journey thinking they reached so much just to find out it was 1% of what is expecting them later. to us viewers this was overwhelming bc we knew how overwhelmed eren was at the last scene of season 3 at the sea. he was so done and tired and sad about gettign the verification that the real enemies are out there. freedom is nowhere to be seen yet.

Eren wasnt emotionlessly saying this, he was completely heart broken. his dads memories, it being exactly how he saw it through him means that everything else must be true too. the other side of the sea for eren used to mean freedom until he confirmed his dads memories and all it meant was a whole world of people who despise his people and want them dead.

Important to mention that Eren's character growth is also influenced heavily by his dad's memories. Mikasa and Armin have an optimistic/naïve view of the outside world whereas Eren kinda knows how terrible it is after what happened to his aunt. Also yes, Falco is best boy.
Not only Grisha's memories, but the memories from the Founder as well.

@@marcusgaius oh yeah i forgot that side of his titan(s)' memories. He's seen what the holders of the founding titan have done throughout the years of rule. Nobody can truly empathise with what Eren has been going through, because nobody has carried the heavy burden that he has.
Yeah, Eren has seen so much fucked up shit about the world that he now kinda seems cold. Mikasa and the others have no damn clue how brutal the world really is comapred to Eren and his memories.

Why is that even happen in the first place
I've read the manga in there the complete dream sequence was different which later connected in future chapter but I can't get why even Eren saw those dream in the first place maybe (AOE) gonna happen 😩

@@turulob3792 From what I read from other commenters that have read the manga, it is that the attack titan has the ability to not just see the memories of future users (like Kruger did with Grisha's future memories of Mikasa & Armin) but also sort of send memories back to the ones that will use them (like Eren when he was a kid), if that makes sense. So Eren is probably influenced & groomed by his future self all throughout the show to ultimately become that monster.
Honestly no idea how accurate that is but it is the only thing that makes sort of sense, especially since he could not have known everything right from the start, it would explain a lot of random dialogs of Eren that felt kinda out of context.
Earlier: When that drunk man confused Zofie for Gabi, hugging and praising her, his wife said "Being praised by you is a bad sign" or smth like that.
Later: Both Zofie and the man crushed by rocks...
I think it was really good how the show killed all the civilians. It shows the truth of war, instead of only showing the glory like most shows
That last scene when Galliard was so shocked how a mere human charge into him, a titan, is so cold i've got chillsss man.

Yes, it was the sister, last last ep (ep 4), when Tybur was talking about the war hammer possibily being anyone in the room, the camera zoomed in on every member of the family but the sister (she appears only in the background giving some drink to the kids or whatever).
Also, dk if you guys missed it, but the reason the jaw couldnt bite Eren was because Levi cut his jaw muscles.
I love your reactions... this episode can be summed up in one word: "epic"
Eren got the hardening abilities back when they were under the crystal cave under the church and Rod Reiss was turning into the "slug" titan. He had to protect the others so he went and bit the fluid flask. After that, he went under training to improve the ability and he's used it to seal the outer wall and on its previous fight against Reiner before entering to the basement.
Every other titan shifters: Resides in the nape.

the "now or never" mikasa is so iconic, it was trending all over twitter when this episode came out, it's a shame you guys didn't see the blue ray version, the character designs were pretty inconsistent when first airing

If the story started right here, many fans would be on Gabi's side and not on the side of the characters we met and bonded for 3 seasons. Eldia and Marley are both in wrong and that's a fact. Eldia did a ethnic cleaning for 2000 years and made the world the hell it is today, when they ran out of enemies they started killing each other, then Marley attacked them when they retreated to the island out of fear that they will come for them one day, they killed innocent people and slaughtered the island and it's inhabitants which is cruel and unforgivable just as Eren, the kid who lost his mom and comrades is destroying Gabi's home, an innocent girl just like Eren who lost everything by his hands. Gabi and Eren are the same and that's a fact many fans can't accept. AOT shows us the tragedy of war and the cycle of pain, revenge and war that never stops...
That’s false. They are barely alike. The only thing they have in common is that they are impulsive.
Gabi is innocent only if you account for the brainwashing. Other than that, she is dangerous and blood thirsty.
She was killing others long before Eren showed up and then she wanted to kill some more after. She wanted to flat out murder the helpless girl, two times, when they were in Paradis.
Eren and her are nothing alike.
Btw the gear was the same as kenny squad with the addition of the thunder spear for some of them

Not entirely. The anti-personel-ODM of Kenny's squad was definitely used as a base, but what they are wearing here has a couple of upgrades. For one their controllers are now a combo with something akin to a regular pistol magazines of normal bullets, instead of the single-use buckshot cannisters.

I saw more excitement and joy in this episode than the "warior" episode (which has the highest expectation of the show). Watching Angelo saying "look at the war hammer" gave me chills. This reaction is my favorite so far.

Such a strong episode. It's a great mirror to season 1 episode 1. Gabi, just like Eren, watches her home be destroyed by this evil titan invader that appears out of nowhere.
And my favorite scene from this season, when the Scouts are all swarming at the Jaw titan. He's absolutely baffled. How the hell do these little humans feel like they can kill him? Galliard has destroyed countless enemy troops with ease. He's one of, if not the most, proficient close quarters combat titan. But these idiots are trying to fight him?
But the Scouts know the deal. They aren't afraid. They've done this thousands of times. These humans are different.
Yea we just accept the absurdity of ODM gear and the scouts because “anime” but now we get perspective from the average person it’s also my favorite scene.
Except that Marley had it coming considering they are at war with tons of countries while inside the walls was at peace for centuries.

Exactly. These people have been battle hardened, against both humans AND titans. And it's all because of Marley. For 100 years the people of Paradis have been struggling against a seemingly endless hoard of titans. If not for Marley, Paradis wouldn't even have the Scouts.

Reiner broke down because their personal history was too much to handle (remember the suicide attempt). The potential civilian casualties was just a small part of his psychological trauma at that time.

I'm imagining the horrible price a family would have to pay in order to sustain a titan in their family. Both Tybur and Reiss dealt with this.
It's like a horror movie where a family has to ritually sacrifice one of their family members every 12 years to sustain their power and influence. You'd have to have at least 2 kids per generation just to keep up with it, and a third to act as a spare or to hopefully at least live a normal life without having to be sacrificed.
I thought about this to. Especially when you’re shown the Tybur children playing.
Pieck is honestly an MVP. She was super clutch in the Shiganshina fight too, she managed to singlehandedly save Zeke and Reiner.
She got that cart for a reason. Carrying hard since her introduction
She is honestly not only one of the most underrated Titan but also an underrated character in the show.

Guys, I noticed that you're not watching the Bluray version of s4, so I highly suggest looking up the best quality because in 2d animation and especially anime, the Bluray corrections make a huge difference sometimes
Now we know the real deal: Willy was ready to sacrifice himself to prove Paradise Island's real threat to the rest of the world. They let Paradise to make their assault in Liberio (Eldians main hometown) so that Marley would look like the victims. So, no matter happens, even if Paradise win this fight, everyone will unite with Marley against Paradise Island. So unfortunately in some way, Eren fell within their trap ...
You should watch the next episode immediately! You should not endure the same waiting time as we did, waiting for a complete week! 😅

It’s so crazy to think that Eren’s ability to peer into the future makes the said future he sees inevitable. Even though he tried so hard to prevent his visions from coming true, he ends up playing into causality’s favor.
@@joey6417 He did what he had to. I mean the world literally agreed on destroying paradise and officially declared war, then why not attack now ?
@@AliElBaba They hadn't agreed to it yet. Willy had proposed it just seconds before Eren ate him. It's not like the world's leaders voted for it in that moment. But Eren's act of taking that opportunity to slaughter civilians and diplomats all but guarantees they will agree to it.
@@jlilley73 Didnt you see all there reactions when Willy declared war ? They all were cheering and alomst crying because they felt so much joy attacking paradise. Stop defending them its clear that most if them if not even all would habe agreed on this war. Willy literall told them the truth about their history and that everything was a lie and that king fritz was the one who saved everything and even after that they still were ready to fight against paradise. And pls stop saying they didnt agree at that time , you know they did and you know that if even eren did nothing on that particular day, marley and the ither nations still would have attacked paradise.
@@jlilley73 Basically every nation and race hates the eldians, it's mentioned in one of the previous episodes that the eldians in Liberio are treated very well compared to eldians in other nations. If a child being fed to dogs for leaving without a pass is "relatively good treatment" then I shudder to think what happens to eldians in those other nations. The diplomats definitely would have agreed with Willy, and most of the civilians would probably have supported the decision.

I never faltered on who I support, the heartbreaks for 3 seasons were too much that 2-3 episodes dedicated to make people like gabi and falco would not have been enough.
