I'm waiting for my M645 1000s and really excited for it. This vid is so informative and you also got the most detailed explanation I can find about loading and unloading film with this camera. Great work sir, keep it up!

You're like the only one that shows swapping rolls for this camera instead of just putting in a fresh one. Thank you!

I had exactly the same problem with the exposure counter window. It was not resetting to 1 or S.
I'm so happy to finally find the solution! Thank you for this video

Your tutorials and videos are an instant watch/ like from me. So easy to follow through the whole video, followed your tutorial for the Yashica 635 as well!

Thanks! I personally don’t understand why the removal of the film is not explained in the manual. I have a Mamiya with the original manual and only the loading is explained. Maybe people at that time knew everything about the films, but for me growing up with 35mm film in those small cartridges it is totally strange. But well I am also glad that those cameras still exist and that the films are still sold and developed. God bless you 🤗

Thanks for sharing this I wasn’t 100% sure if you had to wind the film on after it was finished. I have the Pro TL but I assume removing film will be a very similar method?

You are very welcome. I don't have that camera butI think it should be the same process. Good luck!

My dad (an passionate photographer) passed away suddenly a month ago, he taught me everything I know, except how to unload the roll off his Mamiya 645 that was in there when I inherited it from him. So thank you, now I know how, and will be able to develop the photos he had in there, which I'm guessing will be a trip down memory lane. Thank you thank you thank you!!

That is such a touching story. So sorry for your loss, and happy to hear you shared this special bond with your Dad. May his soul rest in peace. Cameras are such an intimate device and now you will connect with him everytime you use the camera. Glad to have been of help. Thanks so much for sharing. Pinned.

Thanks so much for posting this! My dad passed down his Mamiya to me and I've been struggling to load/unload the film. This was incredibly helpful.

Thanks for the tips! I have the same camera and I loaded my first roll of film incorrectly. Hopefully my second roll will go smoothly. The part with resetting the counter was really useful too.

Thank you so much for this video! I just shot my first roll of medium format film and this was the only video I could find that gave me all the information I needed to get it out of my camera and off to a film lab safely. I really appreciate it and I'm so glad to have found you-and subscribed!
