What I think is missed here, and is missed often, is that Aristotle is ancient. His contemporaries quite possibly hadn't figured out that there is a just right amount to eat. We learned that from a blonde girl and three bears; who were undoubtedly taught by Aristotle.
I actually think these academic philosophers don't know shit. They are just taught an interpretation in their school which they then regurgitate. I totally disagree with this guy. The "mean" is ultimately a question of context. and every situation has a different context. Personally I don't have a problem with operating far from the mean, as long as you appropriately understand context. the problem comes when people operate far from the mean, but believe themselves to be at the mean.
+Francis Watts Do you realise that this is what Aristotle says and not him. Plus, he can't fully proof his point in a 3-minute video, he is just elaborating on the podcasts he made. And even so, what;s wrong with him having a different point of view.

I love it

it is aristotle that spoke about the golden mean and not him, he’s simply just interpreting what he said in other contexts
